Kenny "The Jet" Smith has joined Shaquille O'Neal and Ernie Johnson in the NBA 2K16 pre-game, halftime and post-game shows. Check out the video here and post your thoughts!
Ideally with the Tnt license they could use the NBA 2k prodcast for minor games and tnt for major ones. Would be awesome for Myleague
Then it's not worth having the license, IMO. If I am playing as the 6ers they are lucky to get more than 3 games a year nationally. I would much rather them put the money into other areas of need.
Kerr should not be in broadcast now. I'm surprised they haven't implemented TNT scoreboard and intros. Somehow they do it for pre games and half time shows.
Wow this is so nice, love it, and now with the news of who's replacing Kerr I'm really happy. Right now I would prefer 2k not get TNT or any other license, use that money for more resources toward the game, maybe even to get as many college teams as they can.
If they plan on upgrading that part of the game using 2k Sports logo would probably be better in the long run. If they had TNT for NBA we would expect them to have some sort of license logo for college, there aren't many college games on TNT except for tourney time so would probably have to get another license for that.
This way they can use 2kSports both NBA and college and get whatever commentators they want without spending the extra money on licenses.
Whatever they do though 2k has really put in work.
The pre-game intro is boring. I always skip it. If it wasn't for the loading time, i am sure most would have skipped it too. Unless they did something different this year....i don't see why i want to watch it. Now the Half time Post game show...i will watch them.

I'd actually like to do the layup line like CH2k8 used to do as well as hearing the analysis from the background, plus the intros or whatever different types of intros they have.

Actually a 2k dev has spoken on this. They've said that they would prefer to focus on the developing the 2k brand within game. I've actually talked about this with 2k devs in the past and they referenced how expensive these licenses are and how it could be used on other resources. They have never outright said it wont happen but its clear from their comments that its not likely.
As I have said before, that's all well and dandy. I understand that there may be a reason why 2K hasn't gone full on TNT. That's fine. TNT might be unlikely as this is all news to me. But speaking to a dev (unless they specifically said no TNT in 2K16) doesn't change a thing. You didn't know, and neither did we until today. Plus 2K was being especially tight lipped about presentation. I remember after the "Yakkem" trailer dropped (earlier) last year and 2K immediately came out and said that there was no Inside the NBA or TNT. This year there was nothing, but we knew that a new commentator was coming. So it was not s stretch to suggest that MAYBE they were holding out for TNT and discuss that.
I have to be honest I've skipped every pre game intro since I got the game. It's a clever way to cover up the leading but I just want to play right away.
Now half time and post game I will definitely watch.
Man it is like 2K is my soulmate. Its like Man 2011 this is an insane year, they will never update the game like this again in 1 year, few years later, this is insane.
The stuff that these guys did year to year needs to be commended. They bring it. No other sports game, i don't care who, even the show, doesn't put this much effort into making the game. These guys are the apex predators of sports gaming.
whats funny, is next year, they could put in minimal work and clean it up and not get destroyed, because damn, you can't do this every year, but nah, they will bring it.
Its like watching a championship team, even if its not your team, you respect the work they put in, the effort it took, and you respect greatness.
Btw, this is random and I'd like to preface this by saying I appreciate the hardwork done to implement this but, whoever designed the studio set i'd just like to ask what were they thinking. I mean it's seems like a dope set but it being black definitely takes away from it. It really distracts especially with the red and blue led lights in the background. Also, I wish they'd tone done on the 2k logo overload. If the screens in the desk displayed the teams playing it'd bring it back to reality a bit and I wouldn't be reminded every 5 inches I'm playing NBA 2k16 presented by 2kSports.

I didn't have a problem with it for the most part. It only becomes an issue to me when it's not minimized, that way it stays fresh and feels a lot more significant.
For example, the pre game show came on during the loading screen for every quick game and every MyLeague/MyGm game. If it was reserved for only playoff games or big games in MyLeague/MyGM the freshness of it would last a bit longer. I also think there should be some type of change up in the way it's presented. Right now it's pretty much just them on the set, it's now evolved into them being in the arenas during the playoffs which is dope. But maybe doing a key player focus with the players doing a little shootaround and in the playoffs have the star player sitting on the bench looking focused (think what they are doing with highlights at halftime now but these can be pre made so the system doesn't have to save replays).
Now all we need is for them to add Charles Barkley and make it an official TNT presentation!
A special thanks goes out to EA and the NBA Live programmers for preventing 2K from becoming lazy. NBA 2K16 looks like it's going to be one of the best in the series.
I mean, not just Pre-game, but finally Halftime and post game.
Now 2k needs to make sure we can actually have a Player of the Game replay when playing 12 minute games, haven't had one for a 12 minute game for that last 3 years, sure its a memory issue, but they need to fix this
Like someone else said in this thread if Shaq and the team don't talk about the other games that are going on hopefully the ticker will be at the bottom of the screen showing the results of the other games.

Agree on all counts. Would definitely love to see the two teams logos in the spot where the NBA2K16 graphic is at.

If the working lights in the ceiling above slowly brightens the room and fully illuminate the set as the camera pans closer to what it is now, that would certainly give the added touch to presentation.
To be honest, I kind of like this standard setup with the pre-game, halftime, and post game shown all the time. That's usually how I've seen it before tip off. Always some type of pregame show regardless of schedule, whether it be preseason, regular season or playoffs.
