Madden NFL 16 News Post


The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

So the best fix so far is editing the QB's. Wish i wasnt at work I would test this out

My first Cardinals CFM game after the patch. Playing against the Saints.


Brees kept trying to scramble on almost every play, I have no idea what's going on.

well that pic makes me want to blow my brains out... They are so close to a finish product how can they not get it together lol I mean we pretty much gave them all the info they needed for the patch....

Did you continue an old cfm of start a new one? Idk if it makes a difference but I tried continuing my old one and had something similar happen. Default all madden Giants(me) vs Ravens, the Ravens only attempted to run the ball 3 times all game, all 3 of those runs were 60+ Yards where the RB broke 4-6 tackles. Then every pass play Flacco would scramble around behind the LOS and eventually throw the ball deep to double and triple covered guys.

I've sincce started a new CFM and things seem back to normal.

That doesn't work at all though. Get to the line with under 8 seconds left. Not time for any pre-snap changes. Plays were player automatically go in motion wouldn't be useful any longer.

The only QBs that have tried to run on me have been the none running QBs.

Yet running QBs just stay in the pocket, haven't played Kap yet.

I'm honestly sick of paying for the game and being unable to play it fully. I love the gameplay but stuff like this just really drives me up the wall. Maybe doctors should start putting pacemakers in without batteries too, gotta meet that release date!

I picture plenty of unorganized chaos when envisioning the tiburon studio...how these things get though testing is unbelievable...so much anticipation only to be let down...again

Yes, that is the same as a video game having a bug.

I don't know if this was a problem listed in CFM or not, but I don't see it in the patch notes, but is anyone else having a problem resigning players mid season? I'm playing with my Cowboys, and of course I started it pre patch during the EA Access Preview, but La'el Collins wants to resign at 3 years and 3.08m. So I tried 3 times. Once at 3 years 2.9m, then at 3 years 3.08m, and then finally at 3 years 4.9m, and he rejected all 3 offers lol

Before the patch my game didn't crash, after patch I crashed three times today during an MUT game 😐 c'mon EA

When have they that not made an over-powered gimmick, bug infested, exploitable sports game in any sports genre?

Not being negative. Just speaking as a video game player since 1982 and EA games played since 1993.

It isn't working right for some of us. Wait until after the superbowl when the "resign players" tab pops up and then they will sign for normal prices.

Seriously. In no way is any of this nonsense acceptable. Tiny issues are, but a lot of these bugs are game killers and should not have made it to release.

If I purchase the game next year it will definitely be on the secondary market.

We finally get the Madden we have deserved for years and even after this patch it's still bugged filled and almost unplayable for CFM. I'm upset but at the same time not surprised. Looks like this will be traded in for NHL next week! 😩

I just downloaded the patch and advanced a few years in online CFM to check the LT regression. Low pass block LT's get owned and regress harshly very quickly but the above average to great ones all end up with 90+ Pass block after 5 years+ if they have decent end of season sacks allowed numbers.

Greg Robinson is still in the league 8 years on, playing for the texans 67-70 OVR with 7 Pblock and 83 Rblock. Jake Matthews took a dive early on (to the 60's) but came back and now plays for the Chargers with 93PBK. Funny thing happened with my Vikings team though, they didn't allow many sacks in the 1st season, even though progression was set to user and CPU prog was "end of season", the Vikings OLine PBK and RBK went up a few points every few games... but I can't tell if it used experience or not.

However, there is a new bug in town... QB and OLine AWR regression...
