Madden NFL 16 News Post

The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Quote:
Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

Let us know what you are seeing!

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

Ok that sounds good, thanks man. I'll probably end up starting another CFM after this one, since I tend to restart 3-4 times a year anyway, and I didn't read through every post in this thread, and haven't looked for myself, so I'm still unsure if the patch did improve problems with pre patch CFM.

Man this thread is depressing as I still wait for the patch to download. It looks more and more like this game will get put to the shelf waiting for another patch, fbg rated rosters to get finished, etc. but with nba2k coming in a few weeks I'm not sure this game will ever get any time in my system now after all the issues with it.

This game really needs to be tested thoroughly 1-2 months before release. They need to bring in some hardcore guys to test each mode to eliminate all these issues prior to release and catch some of these things that seem so easy to find off the get. Especially issues that have been present bugs in past years.

Hard to do, even games that have 5-6 years of work come out and have major issues and crashes so a 1 year turn around is actually pretty impressive.

There is almost ALWAYS another patch in October or November. Just another reason to never buy the game until then.
Yep! Planned obsolescence .

Greg Robinson is still in the league 8 years on, playing for the texans 67-70 OVR with 7 Pblock and 83 Rblock. Jake Matthews took a dive early on (to the 60's) but came back and now plays for the Chargers with 93PBK. Funny thing happened with my Vikings team though, they didn't allow many sacks in the 1st season, even though progression was set to user and CPU prog was "end of season", the Vikings OLine PBK and RBK went up a few points every few games... but I can't tell if it used experience or not.

However, there is a new bug in town... QB and OLine AWR regression...

See my newest bug post for details... considering opening up a thread to talk about the very flawed AWR progression for QB and OL

Oh heck, seemed to me my AWR regression improved. Pre-patch I simmed a season and Mariotta dropped like 6 pts overall. I went into progression to see why and his awareness had dropped to FOUR(4).
I used all my xp points to get it to 47 and his overall went up.

It was the very first thing I checked post-patch. His awareness went from 60 to a 55 first simmed seasons, tried again and it went from 60-57, so I thought it was fixed.

Not being negative. Just speaking as a video game player since 1982 and EA games played since 1993.
Well I really enjoyed Madden 2005!!!

This patch had zero to do with getting it out in time for the season. They had to rush it out because of the bug rendering CFM unplayable for some. If not for that they would never have put a patch out this soon. First patch historically was generally not until October.

I've been very happy with the connection to the community the Madden team has been. Just sent a tweet to new ratings master about Solder's new contract; I wrote: NE's LT Nate Solder new contract is 3 years 27.5m, contract update.

He replied 2 minutes later saying "Got it".

Wow

I think they are still working on all the roster moves. I'm excited for Friday.

How do yall know that auto advancing instead of actually playing it out isn't the issue? Not saying it is but wouldn't playing it out be more of a accurate measuring tool vs advancing because the CPU stats might be jacked up..

Is the OL regression considered game breaking?

I was wondering the same thing myself. Not sure if that was mentioned by anyone and I missed it. Wondering if playing through as opposed to simming the game would offer different results. Things could be set up to react to how you play/manually control events on the field.

"Game Breaking" is a subjective term based on each individual.

The bug that forced them to rush this out was game breaking to some and not to others.

I was simply commenting on why they rushed this out and not that it was to meet the opening of the NFL season tomorrow as they've never put a patch out that fast.

I haven't commented one way or the other on the affects of this patch as I just got home from work and haven't had much of a chance to peruse through everything.

Indeed someone might want to test it.. It could be sim stats, mins played etc. Causing the problems.. Idk.. I don't open the box and sim years in advance looking for deficiencies I just play it out..

Played a test game in a new CFM and Tom Brady seemed intent on running on me. Had like 14 rushes attempts in the game and my DE's each managed to grab 4 sacks as a result of slow Brady getting stuck on o-linemen.

Anyone else see this? Obviously don't have enough sample size to know if this was a one game glitch or not.

I think you have me confused with someone who works for EA.

I'm not sure that they actually knew what was causing the LT regression, because it seems clear that they didn't fix it. I get the feeling that they will probably just stay silent on the issue and fix it in the next patch 6 weeks from now, but without mentioning in those patch notes that they did so.

I hope that some issues are ameliorated when the new roster comes out, but right now CFM seems like a complete disaster.

I saw this same issue posted a few pages back. Same situation but with Drew Brees. I really hope this isn't happening. I thought the gameplay was really good after the latest tuner. Please tell me the patch didn't mess it up.
