Although there are a lot of great animations and things that are improved this year, some of the same legacy issues just kill what is otherwise a great experience.
1. When running hurry up, sometimes you are not able to actually snap the ball. You can hot route and player lock, but the hike button doesn't work so you are stuck with either a penalty for delay of game, or you burn a timeout. Terrible.
2. The game wants you to be short of the first down, it will do weird **** to make that happen. Guys will run backwards, slide awkward and generally freeze/slow up at random moments to keep you from getting a few simple yards. Very annoying.
3. Hail May at the end of the half was ruled a touchdown, no official review, I can't review, but watching the play at the end of the game he didn't even have 1 foot in bounds, let alone 2.
4. Tom Brady has been able to run backwards and throw off his back foot, but still complete a 40 yard pass.
5. I've seen players from the opposing team walk over to my team sideline and just stand there after the play ends. I've seen players frozen in tackle stance like they are statues as everyone else walks around.
6. The camera still follows the HOLDER and not the kicker after FG/XP in online H2H. 4 years in a row. Just awful.

Hoping for a patch...

I like the jawing that players are doing after the play sometimes, they even get physical which was funny and unexpected.
I like the get skinny feature but it doesn't always work.

Sorry if I missed this, but is anyone else in xbox one having issues of the ga,e freezing? On menus? I have had to restart four times while trying to switch my team out on MUT. I had no issues on the access trial period.

I can't seem to run the football. At all. Very frustrating seeing the qb take his time to hand off the ball to the RB and being swallowed up multiple times in the backfield.

Change some sliders man. The running game is really fine.
I just had Morris go for 115 in CFM

Held the Dolphins to 85 but they threw over 40 times lol

Also wanted to mention that the new D quick hot route system is a welcomed addition.

On your run plays swap the camera to the one that's further out from the field. Allows you to see everything better.

I'll play a lot more games, and get better the same as every year, but for my style of play and skill level, default All-Pro is almost perfect for me from a game play stand point.

For players who play straight and don't use exploits, if you get quick pressure with the right play call on defense your guys can make plays in man and zone. On offense you have to know your personnel and take advantage of the mismatches.

Penalties, especially P.I., have completely changed this game, they are often game deciders now. Every game feel unique, finally. The static special teams play really stands out now and has to be fixed for next year. Just has to.

Barring some new large bug being introduced in an upcoming patch(fingers crossed), once CFM is fixed I'm going to play 20 plus season easily.

Trigger rumble is a thing on XBOX One for fake snaps. I am pretty sure it is always-on and not optional.

I'm really liking the running animations and animations in whole this year. The ball carrier seems to be more aware of his surroundings and is able to squish his way between the tackles much better. Overall a good step up from last year, I wish they had worked more on the bugs in CFM. I still see mid round rookies getting cut in the preseason and the draft classes shoulder pad issue is still concerning.

Animations are really good especially the pass break up and some of the gang tackles. The problem players body and limbs still bend like rubber. I wonder if it's possible to implement "skeletons" to the player models

One thing that has bothered me is switching on defense.

I switch when I play defense. But this year it looks like I may have to go to no switch.

I'm convinced the human's AI DBs are brain dead.

Seems that when I switch every DB just stops running leading to wide open receivers and big gains.

So when I went into the Skills Trainer I noticed that you have to not touch the Left Stick at all once the CPU QB throws the pass. Just press Circle (PS4) for the closest DB.

Then press X, square or triangle for the type of pass defense you want him to play.

If you try to control the DB's movement at all with the Left Stick, it'll just throw everything off.

The problem with this is:
If you are controlling a DL before the pass is thrown, it's nearly impossible to stop in your tracks while pass rushing to switch and not even touch the Left Stick.

The INTs that I have had so far have all been by my AI teammates.

I'm fine with that seeing that it is somewhat more "ratings based" than user skill based.

But it does take some joy out of playing defense for me.

Big time adjustment I'll have to make playing defense from now on.

Issue for me as well. I always struggle on Pass D to start the year anyway though.

I've tried increasing Reaction Time but it's of no help.

In years past, I could switch to a DB while the ball is in the air and not break stride.

This year, I think the whole pass defense options (which I think are good ideas) has caused more of a canned response triggered by the DBs.

No way should DBs just stop running.

Yeah last night i was testing the reaction and coverage sliders. 50-100 i couldnt tell a difference at all. At 100 i would expect the DB to be glued to the WR at all times.

1,3,4,5 I have never seen before and I don't really think 6 is a big deal. Now 2 yeah that is really bad.

I'm playing Madden 16 with the intention of playing it for two years. I have played every Madden since Madden 2003 but with recent releases of broken games may lead me to skip next year. I think they don't test out there games until it's realase to the public. Can't even play cfm on launch day is sad I think they work hard on the game but don't test.

Jumped into CFM just to look around until the patch, and man is the gameplay strange. The onfield stuff seems to animate completely differently than outside the mode. Almost like CFM isn't using the new animations.

I looked on google to see if I was crazy or not and found this:

I feel like some of the other animations and gang tackling are kind of messed up in CFM as well, but I don't have any video or any other users out there corroborating this.
