Intentional or not, naming the mode online my league has certain expectations that it is somewhat similar to it's counterpart. The ability to add custom draft class, have a normal offseason is a huge part of My League.

I think the OL/OA community has been waiting 3 years to finally play an online franchise type mode. 2K used the word "stability" to describe their efforts last year and what they gave us was a mode where stats nor games registered. I can't believe they used that word again to be honest.

The 2K online league community has some of the most hardcore guys dating back to 2k8. It just sucks to see other games excel in the online league world when 2K used to be at the top.

Most likely this will frustration will wear off and diehard lgs will make it work, but I think we are tired of relying on spreadsheets to maintain a franchise in 2016.
Well said.

I really want to try the player lock feature. Wonder if I can import my created player and play a stripped down version of mycareer.

Awesome read! I'm completely sold after seeing the player lock and coachmode/live simcast options. Who needs mycareer when you have that!

The crowd colors are most likely based on the team colors you select when relocating. Think how accessories are tied to the whether you are home or away.

I did something similar to that back in 2k13. I created myself starting at 62 ovr and then signed as an undrafted free agent. Then I'd position lock and turn on coach mode when I subbed out. I really enjoyed it compared to any mycareer experience I've had yet. Ended up playing 15 seasons and winning 2 rings with the Raptors as a point guard.

Now that player lock/coach mode is back I really can't wait for this game. I never did buy 2k14 or 2k15 so this should really be a whole fresh new game for me to dive into!

I cried a little reading this. Everything I've ever dreamed up in an association mode.

So, let's bring the sonics back, bring back the old logo, court, uni's from 93 and lure Nate McMillan from Indiana to take the job! Question is who to relocate? I almost don't want to relocate the thunder as what a rivalry that could be and they are tainted. Maybe I'll pretend the Kings left or foresee the Bucks potentially leaving? Whatever the case it will be cool to bring back the sonics! And how cool is the changing of divisions option?! I know you could kind of workaround and do this before but want to see how that works too...
I'm definitely going to put a team back in Seattle. I'm fooling around right now just for fun and thinking about 7 new cities. Nashville, Louisville, St. Louis, Kansas City, San Diego, Seattle, and Vegas.

Atlantic: NY Knicks, Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavs, Philly 76ers, and Boston Celtics.
Central: Indiana, Detroit, Milwakee, Chicago, Minnesota.
Southeast: Miami, ATL, Nashville, St. Louis, Louisville.

Southwest: Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, New Orleans, and OKC.
Northwest: Seattle, Portland, Kansas City, Utah, and Denver.
Pacific: LA Lakers, GS, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and San Diego.

I'm trying to come up with some cool nicknames for the 7 new teams, although I am gonna keep the Kings for KC, and probably the Grizzlies for Nashville. The Supersonics will obviously stay the same as well. Possibilities are endless for this mode to be honest though

Just read through this whole thread, actually had to hold back tears of joy reading the blog post. When there's legitimately only one or two request missing from a game, you know you've got something excellent. Amazing job by everybody at 2K.

Okay, so I saw the relocation map but I am fairly curious about this, but does anybody know if we can also relocate teams out of the USA? For example, canada or maybe even mexico/Europe? It's matters to me more if I can relocate to Canada, but it only seems to show us a map of the united states so that's why I am posing this question.

It would also be nice if we could have a list of cities we could move to.
A team in alaska? that sounds really compelling!

I thought Vancouver and Montreal were on that map, but that was upon memory and a quick glance initially (at the map).

Edit: yep, i checked map and see those Canadian cities.

wish they add the selection in season when you can invite a person to play you online.

All this sounds great, but i have to ask. How will VC be incorporated into these modes? Im assuming it will cost VC to submit a team move request, Then some more to actually move team. change name? VC, change Logo? yep some more VC.

Oh okay, phew! had to be completely certain of it. Thanks for letting me know.

still would be helpful though, if they gave us a running list of cities you can relocate to, just to see it in a textual sense as opposed to just a map.

Gonna be sending the Clippers back to San Diego and out of LA

It Would be awesome to see 2k add a feature of retiring player numbers. Like a player has to be at least a certain overall for certain amount of years throughout their career. Also they need to have certain career stats for their particular position. The player chooses where to retire his number, or maybe he retires his number at the team he spent the longest time at. The cpu of other teams also have numbers retired for players throughout the years. It would just be an awesome feature because in like 2050 players are going to the hall of fame but there are no numbers being retired.

That would be a great add next year!

This commentary isn't directed at you, but just as a general persective:

Nobody can deny what they did add to this mode though! Seriously, all these additions have been a long time coming for offline franchise players! This is incredible! And, if we can create (share) historic teams/seasons?!? Oh my god!!! Can't wait. Playing a 1993 or 2001 season online even if just one year would be amazing, no???

"The customization is crazy". Yeah ... Will we be able to edit the number of teams in MYLEAGUE???

To recreate the NBA in the 80`s we have to reduce the number of teams.
