We know about the adjustment that has to be made when putting up hill or down hill. The problem is the games programming doesn't seem to be the same as previous years.
That is because it was built from the ground up from scratch. I have hade 2 or 3 putts roll through the cup, but I felt like I over powered the putt. Putting takes a lot more finess and touch in RM than previous Tiger versions...

Obviously opinions vary. It's a subjective and personal thing and isn't it great to have choices in how you play the game?

Entering the final round of The Players a few shots behind Rory really enjoying the challenge. My biggest thing is making sure I give it a full backswing. By trying to flick the stick up as fast I can for a full follow through I am usually short on my back swing. I tried to go all the way back this last round and had a few shanks into the woods. Had to punch out and scramble for par or bogey.

I play pretty fast I'm not sitting there lining up shots for over a minute giving it scientific calculations lol so far so good for me I'm in love with the game as a whole. Obviously there are the lacking features but give it a chance I'm sure there will be some patches and DLC to give it some new life later on. I won't be taking this game out of my PS4 for a while but I'm a golf junkie so to each is own I guess.

Just set up my twitch account on my playstation so feel free to add me guys.

3 click brings me back to the old jack Nicklaus games on Pc as a kid. Loved those games. Has a nostalgia feeling to it.

You, kinda made me register here. Why?! Because I can't understand how you can 3 click your way into the future! I'm not a pro at golf games, never seriously played it (just a few times I went to a driving range and putting green) but I played a lot of the TW games. And as the stick movement became present in EA titles I became addicted to them. NHL was awesome with analog stick shooting and skating, TW was awesome with stick movement (man, you had to swing!!! The stick, but it worked); it all feels so much better and makes so much fun. I don't get why you prefer 3 click. Sure I read your comments but I just can't agree. Even if it's more accurate... It's clicking!!

Enough said, I want to make friends in here not foes. Want to listen to the pros. Don't take my comment personal. It's just my opinion.

My copy will arrive in like 10 hours. I'll be happy to tee off tomorrow.

Have a good night everyone.

Glad you can switch. I'll put it to the right too. Always used it like that.

Welcome aboard PRO_TOO. People have expressed a preference for 3 click because it's *less* accurate. Right now when you use the stick it's too easy (for some folks) to hit the ball straight and that gets boring after a while.

From what i've read most of those folks would prefer to use the stick if EA can patch some sort of lateral variance into the game in the future.

The most modern is not always better.
If you prefer, still enjoy this game with the stick as a good arcade.

Oh. So I get this wrong. It's about having a bigger challenge. I still wait for a patch so the sticks are more inaccurate as to go for 3 click. This seems so 80's to me (gaming wise).
I just can't describe how I hate those click mechanics. As some guys said, there is more error in it but I can't believe that. To click 3 times seems so easy to me like a free throw at nba2k15. Whatch the meter. Press the button. Press it again. There you go.
I loved the anolog swing in tw! Sometimes you had to swing just like 70% to get the shot right. Loved it.

So 3 click is more realistic?! Cmon. Every gamer wants to feel the motion!!
Just turn that freaking arc and other aids off.

imgane nhl without sticks. Just a button press. That's so antic. Playing baseball on consoles I prefer stick movement when I want to hit the ball with my bat. Same goes for every game where you have something in your hands to bash at.

I'll be playing this in a few hours so then I truly judge, but it seems that many just expect to,shoot 55 every round without even thinking about it. Just like in FIFA 15 where everyone seems to play the same boring top teams. Nobody plays as Morecambe or Burton(apart from me) because it makes the game(on legendary mode) too difficult and too much of a challenge. Too many people these days want a free ride and to make it to the top without making any effort.
Fingers crossed for RM. it's live here in an hour but I need my sleep. It's all downloaded and ready to go. Roll on morning time. Then let's see if it's any good. Opinion seems to be divided with most reviews concentrating on the lack of features rather than the all important gameplay.
Not looking for a free ride or to shoot in the 50's. (btw - Fifa 15 team - Real Betis) It just gets frustrating sometimes to judge a 12' putt with a right to left break only to watch it go slowly toward the hole and then go over like the hole wasn't there. I wasn't one of the 'fire it into the hole' players in previous editions, I like the realistic style of play. It just feels at times that they compensated for the fire-hole players a bit too much on the sensitive side. The ones that I have experienced were not going over and then another 1-2', it was going over by about 3". That tells me that I am not over powering it.

It's not a game breaker for me, I'm not saying the game is horrible because of it, it's just my opinion that it could use a little adjustment in the ball-to-hole sensitivity area.

Cheers!

That's your opinion and not necessarily fact. You don't need to presume to tell others how to enjoy the game.

TGC is an awesome game and I love it. However, you need an internet connection to play the thousands of courses so you just need a stable connection is all.

I like TGC for its "just you and the course" feel. But can enjoy the Rory game if you like a PGA Tour experience. If the game had at least 15 more courses, I'm sure the ratings would be better.

I too would enjoy a TW14 "remastered" edition. I wonder if Augusta would've been I a remastered version since EA lost the license?

Either way, it would still be solid. But how come it seems like TW14 is getting so much love now? I remember quite a bit of complaining Lol. I enjoyed the game myself.

Again, with Rory, if there were many more courses, ratings would be much better.
And there's a solid chance they can do that too with updates moving forward.

I'll be picking up the game on Friday for PS4.

As Khelis said, opinion is not fact.. In your example, I know most around here seem to prefer the button press way over analog for MLB the show.

If the guys want to do 3 click, who cares, it's their game.

They said they will be detailing the updates according to their Twitter.

As mentioned, once they add at least 10 to 15 more tracks, then I think the game will get a much better rating.

Played 5 rounds last night. Missed the cut at wetlands blowing up for +13 or some craziness.

Fire up Chambers Bay for my 3rd tourney with my pro.... Already getting the hang and throwing darts. Playing: Advanced mechanic, Hard swing difficulty, power and spin off, Advanced lie effect. Left the putt read and green grid on which makes no difference as I'm TERRIBLE putting still.

My point is, after round one I'm tied for the lead at -6. Bogey free round AND missed a handful of birdies. Saying all that I only made 1 par 5 in 2. Kinda worries me things are going to get real easy real quick.... Hope patches can add some difficulty

I know we've heard that EA doesn't plan on putting out a new RMPGAT each year, but instead providing updates. I'm 100% on board with that idea, but does anyone know if they've confirmed that they'll be starting that with this installment? The idea of being stuck with this career mode is a bit disheartening. I don't mind the gameplay. I'm having fun with it. But career mode as is will get very boring. Even if they add more clothes, clubs, etc. Especially if we can't add DLC courses to career.

I like the general idea, but if the base game tanks, I don't see EA(not the devs) investing in a full blitz meaningful DLC push. If anything it will be piece meal small DLC with premium prices ala Facebook games model.
