Weekly wrap-up, better half-time show (with around-the-league scoreboard for offline cfm), and getting rid of terrible commentary programming. It was super irritating having Phil Simms tell me to punt every 4th down and him saying "they're in another close one this week" after the first score of the game. No **** it's close, Phil, it's the 1st quarter.
Why don't you feel the need to upgrade from last years, I don't mean "add to it, either.
I don't see the need for a new one. It's almost unfair to expect for EA to put together a new one when the first iteration was the last game.
An upgrade makes a lot sense, and "adding on" isn't bad. Add more stats, make the highlights from the broadcast camera like we see on TV, if in CFM show scores from around the league. Perhaps even add second half goals for the teams to win (re-establish the run game, target receiver x in this match up, give quarterback y time in the pocket, etc.) The halftime show is not anything to write home about, but isn't bad to the point where it immediately needs to be replaced.
If they added a weekly wrap up show to franchise, similar to that of 2k5 except without ( with would be good too ) Chris Berman ( who they could actually use since they have the ESPN license ), I will be happy. In reality, we are probably getting more storylines in CFM and updated player banners

I guess I would ask why did they gut out the HT show in 10 and 11 only after 2 years?
I wouldn't mind a good upgrade, but in my opinion, I wasn't in awe with last years HT show, either.
- More player specific highlights. Last year you got one every five games or so.
- More TV style stuff
I feel NCAA's presentation was better, with more stat banners, team comparisons and the ingame-ticker showing scores of other games. It really gave you the feeling you were playing in a league and not just a single game.
Personally, I hate playing in the year 2024 and hearing the game still remind me of stuff that happened in 2014. QB will be on his 2nd or 3rd franchise by then and commentary will still be talking about how he was "the man Team A" wanted in the draft. Yeah, let it go.
I would rather hear them pop-up last season's stats when they "introduce the QB" and then the commentary team just give some generic details about the previous season, kind of how NBA2K does.
"Joe Smith finished last year 3rd in the league in TD passes"
or
"Joe Smith had a solid season in ____, tossing over 30 touchdowns and throwing for over 4,000 yards."
This way you don't have to have them read lines saying the exact stats "4,218 yards or 32 touchdowns" and then tie their commentator tone to a few parameters that define whether or not the season was successful or not (stat thresholds, team record, playoff or Super Bowl appearance, Pro Bowl acknowledgement, major injury, etc.)
Anticipation for an announcement which will ultimately not live up to expectations... they market a new sandwich with new this and new that... and all we get is the same old taste but with a square bun...
Fix the crappy, limited playbooks? Nope.
Fix the crappy, game-breaking blocking AI? Nope.
Fix the crappy, game-breaking defensive pass AI? Nope.
Fix the crappy, randomized penalty system? They say yes...but we all know...Nope!
Fix the jaggy physics which lead to a broken running game? Nope!
Fix the passing mechanics to reflect more real-world trajectories and pass types? Nope!
Add in any kind of gameplay enhancing functionality, expanded 'next-gen' franchise mode? Nope!
Did we update the graphics in our menus? YOU BETCHYO ***!!!
Remind me why I haven't purchased Madden since 07? Oh...riiiight!
Will say the presentation in 15 was an improvement over the release from a few years back. Still a lot to be desired with replayability / repetitiveness in the commentary though. It would be nice to get a complete half time show, with ongoing stats from other games in the current one (when in franchise) so you feel it's a live game, and a weekly update of what went on around the league. Those items lend itself to immersion in a season for a franchise and add greatly to replayability of the game. The short stories and tweets are ok, but definitely lacking in that respect.
We just got a new halftime show last year, they can improve it, we don't need a new one.
Yes, a new one, but an incomplete, halfway implemented one. So we still need a new one that's worth watching (stats info, around the league, etc). What they added was good, for what it was, it was just incomplete.
The thing that gets me about Maddenand nba2k is they had pretty good halftime and weekly shows on last gen (I.e College Hoops 2k5) so I know it's more than possible to do it on current gen
