LOL @ Nance saying "Gar-AHHHH-Palo". Play by Play really needs some work. To many things are said that you just don't hear when watching a real game......things like "....And he starts his return".

Visually some things look really good to me. I am excited about where the development team is trying to steer this game.

Also, let's keep in mind the context around a lot of these videos. I'm sure the players have spent time with the game beyond the E3 context, but these receiver mechanics seem to take some time to get used to. It seems like if you use the wrong one in the wrong situation, you'll get certain repeatable results, like what we're seeing here. Obviously the guys playing are testing aggressive catch a lot--hopefully the offset to that is what we are seeing in these videos.

Wait...if there wasn't a slight pause there -- to gather himself -- isn't that the type of stuff we all slam Madden for?

The cool thing to me about that play was, he had a receiver running in the left flat -- wide open -- and since he chose to throw into heavy traffic, he paid for it. The animations in that pass break-up and the tip drill was very convincing.

I like the newer commentary that they added this year, commentary that happens between drives, some of the team/player specific lines, it's the older stuff that really hurts the quality of the commentary. A big issue though is they always have a hard time getting Nantz and Simms in the studio at the same time. If they change commentary anytime soon hopefully they will find some talent that can get to the studio at the same time, frequently.

One thing that is still gon a bother me is when I'm in year 2 of a CFM and the announcers still talk about Jameis as if it's his rookie year. Really any qb for that matter the lines are always made for play now games.

All I want to know is can you do a Draft Champions with friends? Or is it only randoms online?

I'd like to know too.

I just watched a video where it displayed the DC menu. I saw "Play Game" in the menu, but nothing like invite friend/play online or anything like that. Could be that they had to crop that out due to restrictions? Makes me wonder if there is another menu or it's just the E3 build, because a few commentators said you can do solo challenges vs CPU. I didn't see that option in the menu's I saw though.

I believe you can do a H2H Draft Champs. I don't have a source for this.

You and your friend draft together, then play.

from what i've read you play head to head against people online, not with friends

You play your friends online, like most online multiplayer games

That could have been a fun CFM variant. Abbreviated seasons using the new draft mode. 4-6 games and/or or a tournament. Maybe some keeper rules, then redraft and go again.

For some reason I thought it was more than a 'play now' feature.

AFAIK there's some really cool friend options with Draft Champs. Might be something like what you're talking here.

So watching these videos looking for gang tackles since people were syaing they were in the game when i said i didn tsee any.

Watched the pats game and the browns game and those vids did have some instances of gang tackling, but from what i am seeing, they are canned animations and does not impact the play at all.

Still, i see defenders releasing before another defender hitting instead of holding on while the other cleans it up. I saw an instance in the pats game where the runner had a defender on him and another coming in to "clean" up and just rubbed off on him and fell to the ground like how it is now. It was like 8:20 in the video.

Doesnt seem the gang tackling impacts anything once the first defender touches the defender and the only way the 2nd defender impacts the play is if the 1st defender lets go creating a pin ball effect.

I've read people saying the gang tackling looks good and all that, but to me, correct if i am wrong or seeing something totally off, these animations are canned and doesnt look like it impacts the play at all.

I guess technically, they did get gang tackling in the game.

True gang tackling is in the game, I think it was the chiefs giants video that showed a pretty good example at the beginning of the video. Like Shop and Madscientist, Sim, Smitty, Azure, and myself all said tonight on the GC radio show, watching these videos does not do the game justice and you won't see everything in these short Youtube clips, have to play hours to see things. I played 35 hours and was still seeing new stuff in the last hour I played.
