NBA 2KTV Reveals More NBA 2K16 Details, More Classic Teams, 3D Scanned Shoes & More

2K Sports released a new episode of NBA 2KTV today, complete with some of the first details of this upcoming year's game. Here are some of the highlights:

There will be more retro/classic teams in this year's game. Three teams were revealed: '99-'00 Raptors, '07-08 Celtics, '00-'01 Lakers. Based off of Scott's response, more teams will be revealed at a later date.
Some new shoes have been confirmed for Dwyane Wade and Klay Thompson. They are currently trying to get BrandBlack and Jamal Crawford's shoe in the game. Shoes are getting 3D scanned, so they should look a lot more realistic this year.
Reshot all of the crowd animations this year. A lot more exciting and pumped up animations to take the atmosphere to the next level as well.
Mike Wang: Biggest and most challenging year with gameplay yet. They're working on something big, it'll make the game look significantly better than any game before it.

At the end of the Mike Wang segment of the 2K16 preview, he says two words which the editing cleverly covers up. The details in the video are certainly solid, but we're even more anxious now to hear what else the 2K crew has up their sleeve for this season.

Any guesses on the 'big thing' they're working on for this year?

Hated him. Then you had TMac that was like Kobe but wasn't quite there. Rafer Alston, Battier and I believe Wafer was all annoying as hell. Have nightmares about that team playing against them with my Lakers lol.

If they are going to a physics based system, I hope this means improvements to the rebounding game by leaps and bounds.

Really glad to have a news in May and not in August!
It is a really good start!
And what a big big news!!! Celtics 08

Fot the buzzer beater it was not really interesting.
It should not be a news, just another detail of the other we will see in the game!

hmmm...i'm curious what this big new thing is regarding player movement. i'm guessing it has something to do with more realistic physics...maybe a true real-time collision physics system. also maybe some more realistic animation blending, and more signature player movement to differentiate how each player moves.

I couldn't care less about classic teams, or even the shoes or audience. All I want to know is what Wang meant by stressing out the A.I. Engineers and what the online situation is going to be like. The rest of it is irrelevant to me without those two items addressed.

To me that does sound like it would be more something along the lines of player tangibility/movement, or perhaps even ball tangibility.

Here's hoping for true player momentum and collision detection instead of force field, and live ball (Yes,I know it's a long shot but I can dream lol).

Wow 1999-2000 Raptors thats awesome! I've been asking for
this team for years props to the development team for listening
and delivering.

Prime Vince Carter and T-Mac athletically basically the definition
of a video game team imagine the alleyoop show using them.
Vinces dunk rating should be 100 and T-Mac high 90's.

Also Doug Christie, Antonio Davis, Charles Oakley, Mugsey Bogues,
Kevin Willis etc.

I just wish we could use Classic Teams online

You can use them online in private match and honestly that's all they should be in.

Because, they're 1 of the current 30 teams in the NBA. I do think there should a "Classic Ranked Match" where you can use any of the classic teams.

As much as i hate the spurs it would be cool to see the 07' or 05' and 04' spurs in the games and all three Championship heat teams.I just wish that they would out all those necessary and useless Euro leagues teams nobody cares. Also I want to see Kareem back in the games and hopefully but night likely some Charles Barkley Teams. Also with shoes i hope it isnt like NBA Live 14 were you're unable to edit them.But i love the 3D scanning.

I hope we got a 01-02 Charlotte Hornets team.. miss those days we had young BD, PJ Brown, Jamal Mashburn, David Wesley..this was good.

Id caution you guys to stop yelling physics then get mad at 2k if its not when no one said that.

Just wait and see....because we dont need embellishments turning into nore complaining
