I really wish the racing wheel market was better for new consoles. It sucks right now.
I don't know about that.. the Thrustmaster t300rs is one of the best wheels I've ever used. I've used many. The last wheel I used extensively before this wheel was fanatec CSR elite, and I think the thurstmaster is on par, if not better.
After the setting up my force feedback the game feels great. I highly suggest the t300rs if anyone is on the fence about getting one.

Thats the problem. Its expensive. The ones that are cheaper are missing features. Theres no mid market wheel like the G27.

While the t300rs is my go to choice for a race wheel, I just cant justify spending $400 on a wheel. Its used only for one type of experience/game yet is the same price as the playstation itself.
The $100 wheel market needs to step its game up, plastic pedals and such can be the downgrade so to speak but force feedback should be a given on any wheel.
We just finished a qualifier and race on Monza.. I was in a Gumpert Apollo S. And beat a McLaren P1 by 1 second to get on the pole.. dude rams me off the first corner in the race for a track penality.. and I get in 8th place. I ended up coming back and finishing in 3rd in just 3 laps.

Yeah, I honestly hate qualifying in the front for online random races because it's pretty much a guarantee that I'll get punted off the first turn. When I'm near the back I have more time to react to the inevitable pile-up and hopefully miss everything or just graze somebody slightly and stay on the track.
Still haven't won a race yet but I've had several top fives and one 3rd place.

I've raced online twice. Both was comebacks from last place. First time I finished 4th and this time 3rd.. I'm still tweaking my controller setting too..
