Madden NFL 16 News Post

The Madden NFL 16 hype train has begun! EA Sports has just announced the game will launch on August 25th. They have scheduled news, features and details to arrive sometime in May.

Last year, EA Sports (along with Amazon and GameStop) provided details on Madden NFL 15 on April 28th, along with a teaser trailer, featuring Luke Kuechly of the Carolina Panthers.. They also kicked off the cover voting on May 8th.

What are you hoping to see and hear about in May?

i expect ps3 and 360 to just be a roster update and that it

we will never be able to edit draft classes because there are some roster makers so good that they can edit the 300 guys perfect that there would be no reason to buy the game every year

the ps4 xbox1 guys should get more tats betting lighting more classic players better man to man D more QB sounds at the line maybe NFL films music in ccm mode maybe a better draft presentation in ccm mode

With expectations contained, I'll keep it brief:

Presentation - further move towards realistic broadcasts that change with Mon, Thr, and Sun games. Also, love to see a different atmosphere for playoff games and Super Bowl.

Presentation - further improved sideline players, camera men, coaches, etc

Connected Franchise Mode - I'm not sure if I can describe it well, but I need the mode to have more immersion and personality. I like it, but it needs more life, stories, etc.

How about a game that doesn't lock up on franchise mode if you check team stats..... REALLY liked Madden 15 (best Madden since PS2 days) but can't tell you the number of times the game locked up on me in the 4th quarter or at the end of the game. Contacted EA and received very little assistance. NO EXCUSE for this problem. Also, the franchise mode is no fun. There are so many things that you could do on the PS2 that you cannot on the next gen systems. Will not be buying Madden and waiting for something else. I don't need the NFL brand if the game is fun. Hope the images about a Joe Montana game are for real.

Sports games I would love to have for next gen: 1. College Basketball 2. Arena Football 3. College Baseball

More tats is up to the players. They need a release form from the artist to be included in the game. That's how Kap got his in the game last year.

Straight and simple: 32 team control. What's so hard about that? I'm trying to buy my first Madden in 9 years here! :-)

All I want is a working penalty system that actually calls a range of (all) penalties, not just random clipping, holding, and false start calls. I'd be delighted if they would solve the sack glitch of '15 as it could be downright broken at times. The wish list stretch goal is full control/edit anyone in offline franchise. Fix those few things, and I have no issues laying down $60 because '15 was their best effort in years.

Since I don't have any to add that hasn't been said already, I'm just going to complain that the 6 in their teaser looks like it was done in MS paint. Which is a meaningless pointless complaint, I know.

Much improved QB awareness when a sack is approaching. Throw the ball away or take off.

Better animations.

That and a owner mode that doesn't suck and is broken. If all of that and the money issue in owner mode is fixed and the game doesn't get worse in other areas the game will be a good game for the first time in a long time but that is unlikely because madden hasn't been good since like 06.

We are being asked what we would like to hear on the first set if news. Well I'm thinking all we will hear is how it's a overall better game then any other Madden. I just hope it's all worth our 65 bucks.

i'm expecting a big jump this year.

they began working in the "right" way since Madden 12 in my opinion, which was a decent game.
Then they improved a little every year, in order to arrive at Madden 15 which is arguably the best madden in the last years.

now, enough with the " you cannot build a game from scratch" thing.

it came a long way since madden 12 on xbox360 , now it's 4 years and now they should know how to program properly on the "new" consoles so i expect, i demand big things from the next Madden,
a few good things and an overall good game like madden 15 will not be enough to keep the credibility or at least what it's left of it

What's the point of hoping anymore? EA's just focused on funneling money through MUT, a couple of touch-ups here and there, and BOOM! "New" Madden. Nothing ever changes.

2-3 years ago this thread would be 50 pages long by now.

It is incredible how much interest has been lost within this community regarding Madden. I think people have just been worn down from the quality of this product since 06', and the Tiburon teams inability to turn this franchise around.

Madden has dropped so far below the quality of other sports games (particularly MLB The Show and NBA 2K) that even the casual gamer is taking notice.

Madden will still sell because of the power of the NFL brand. With that said, this game has been SEVERELY lacking since 06' and has taken baby steps getting better.. I was shocked that the developers did not overhaul the entire engine for this generation. Unfortunately, this tells me that the powers to be over Madden are content with its current state.

I will keep my eyes on the news about Madden in hopes that something finally changes. I no longer hold my breathe when it comes to this series and have not bought the game in three years now, after buying every Madden since 92'.

Madden is in desperate need of new leadership (from the very top) that is willing to take risk, innovate, and breathe new life into this series. Or, the NFL exclusitivity needs to end and allow for competition. Competition would force innovation, Madden would not make it long in a market with competition without significant changes.

Edit- Could you imagine a football game with the quality and attention to detail of NBA 2K or The Show...

I don't understand the gloom-and-doom in this thread given that we're coming off arguably the best Madden game since at least the launch of the XBOX 360, if not longer, in Madden NFL 15.

The idea that Tiburon is "just focusing on MUT" just doesn't hold water. The gameplay, graphics, and presentation all took remarkable steps forward last year, and the game looks and plays better than it ever has at any point in the series. Critically, Madden is back on par with its peers. Its Metacritic score is actually equal to MLB 15 The Show as of right now, and it's just a point or two behind NBA 2K15. This isn't to say that Madden 15 was perfect - it wasn't - but to deny what Tiburon accomplished last year just doesn't sit well with me.

Personally, I had a lot of fun with Madden NFL 15 and I'm looking forward to getting more info about this game. Among the things I'd like to see in the game's reveal are a reimplementation of how penalties in the passing game are handled, continued added authenticity in the gameplay, the addition of more roster mechanics in Connected Franchise such as practice squad, waivers, and contract restructures, adjustments to the confidence mechanic, custom draft classes, custom uniforms in Ultimate Team via TeamBuilder, and a more informative player management interface which is something more than a spreadsheet of ratings.

Simple things, create a camera or more options with camera, zoom too close, regular to far way. Also, I like to play as only the offense and not online.

Something different. How about letting us play as only the offense when choosing a team, let us play as both teams, but just the offense. Again I hate online and against the computer sometimes gets stale so I play against myself with being both teams offense. It is a pain to keep having to switch team control select.

More sliders, adjustments with everything. How about we are able to set up the controller any way we want.

Something hard to do, how about a pass stick like in NHl. The right stick can be for more control passing, rt trigger, left trigger, rb and lb are the passing icons. Before snap you set what receivers you want to the rt trigger and rb, lb or left trigger. Having only four players to pass to, more pressure. The a button could be speed burst for only qb during passing. The option plays can be the standard buttons.

Last, let us set the team uniforms for every team before season. Every game you have to change default uniform for not only your team but other. I like to play as old classic teams. Give us a logo creator or better team editor. None of these corny remade logos. If there is a license problem, then don't allow custom teams for online play.

Imagine if we were able to make college teams and stadiums, again not just these corny logos. Team builder was great, but law suit problems. However, give us the tools to make those changes.

Unless the game is can't miss, gotta buy it, then I'll be passing on this. You can't release a game every year with minimal additions/fixes.

Working sliders and a detailed explanation of how they work and affect every part of the game..

ability to save adjusted plays as new plays, from practice mode...Also would like to see the play the defense and offense called in practice mode when you are using the Random option..

Honestly? M15 may have been there best effort on years, but that definitely doesn't say much. It still wasn't up to the quality that it should be, and there are too many things not included to say it's an authentic nfl simulation.

The sack issue, the awful QB play, the awful DB play, no penalties, and all the bugs in cfm and in between, guys are just tired of accepting mediocrity and giving tiburon a pass because they "tried".

They've been trying for years now, and we've been waiting for years for basic things like penalties to actually work. Or, actual QB play that makes sense from the AI. It's the same song and dance every year, and no matter if last year was their best effort or not, we're tired of giving them a pass on basic things that should have been in the game years ago. Thats where the doom and gloom is coming from
