Madden NFL 16 Launches on August 25th - News, Features and Details Arrive in May

Since I don't have any to add that hasn't been said already, I'm just going to complain that the 6 in their teaser looks like it was done in MS paint. Which is a meaningless pointless complaint, I know.

Better animations.

That and a owner mode that doesn't suck and is broken. If all of that and the money issue in owner mode is fixed and the game doesn't get worse in other areas the game will be a good game for the first time in a long time but that is unlikely because madden hasn't been good since like 06.

We are being asked what we would like to hear on the first set if news. Well I'm thinking all we will hear is how it's a overall better game then any other Madden. I just hope it's all worth our 65 bucks.

i'm expecting a big jump this year.

they began working in the "right" way since Madden 12 in my opinion, which was a decent game.
Then they improved a little every year, in order to arrive at Madden 15 which is arguably the best madden in the last years.

now, enough with the " you cannot build a game from scratch" thing.

it came a long way since madden 12 on xbox360 , now it's 4 years and now they should know how to program properly on the "new" consoles so i expect, i demand big things from the next Madden,
a few good things and an overall good game like madden 15 will not be enough to keep the credibility or at least what it's left of it

What's the point of hoping anymore? EA's just focused on funneling money through MUT, a couple of touch-ups here and there, and BOOM! "New" Madden. Nothing ever changes.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Launches on August 25th - News, Features and Details Arrive in May

2-3 years ago this thread would be 50 pages long by now.

It is incredible how much interest has been lost within this community regarding Madden. I think people have just been worn down from the quality of this product since 06', and the Tiburon teams inability to turn this franchise around.

Madden has dropped so far below the quality of other sports games (particularly MLB The Show and NBA 2K) that even the casual gamer is taking notice.

Madden will still sell because of the power of the NFL brand. With that said, this game has been SEVERELY lacking since 06' and has taken baby steps getting better.. I was shocked that the developers did not overhaul the entire engine for this generation. Unfortunately, this tells me that the powers to be over Madden are content with its current state.

I will keep my eyes on the news about Madden in hopes that something finally changes. I no longer hold my breathe when it comes to this series and have not bought the game in three years now, after buying every Madden since 92'.

Madden is in desperate need of new leadership (from the very top) that is willing to take risk, innovate, and breathe new life into this series. Or, the NFL exclusitivity needs to end and allow for competition. Competition would force innovation, Madden would not make it long in a market with competition without significant changes.

Edit- Could you imagine a football game with the quality and attention to detail of NBA 2K or The Show...

Re: Madden NFL 16 Launches on August 25th - News, Features and Details Arrive in May

I don't understand the gloom-and-doom in this thread given that we're coming off arguably the best Madden game since at least the launch of the XBOX 360, if not longer, in Madden NFL 15.

The idea that Tiburon is "just focusing on MUT" just doesn't hold water. The gameplay, graphics, and presentation all took remarkable steps forward last year, and the game looks and plays better than it ever has at any point in the series. Critically, Madden is back on par with its peers. Its Metacritic score is actually equal to MLB 15 The Show as of right now, and it's just a point or two behind NBA 2K15. This isn't to say that Madden 15 was perfect - it wasn't - but to deny what Tiburon accomplished last year just doesn't sit well with me.

Personally, I had a lot of fun with Madden NFL 15 and I'm looking forward to getting more info about this game. Among the things I'd like to see in the game's reveal are a reimplementation of how penalties in the passing game are handled, continued added authenticity in the gameplay, the addition of more roster mechanics in Connected Franchise such as practice squad, waivers, and contract restructures, adjustments to the confidence mechanic, custom draft classes, custom uniforms in Ultimate Team via TeamBuilder, and a more informative player management interface which is something more than a spreadsheet of ratings.
