NBA 2K15 News Post

Having trouble earning particular badges in NBA 2K15? NBA 2K Producer Zach Timmerman has just sent us the requirements for each one of them.

Key Notes
  • Simulating games will not count towards earning badges. You must play the games to meet the requirements.
  • Only one badge can be earned in MyPark / Jordan Rec Center (Swagger).
  • Badges can be earned by playing on any difficulty.
  • Unless specifically noted, any position can earn any badge.
  • Unlike what many believe, having the Cool and Collected or Volume Shooter badges will not prevent you from getting “hot” (which is required to earn Unfazed and Microwave).
  • Getting ejected or fouling out of a game will not impact your ability to earn badges.
  • For the ankle breaker dribble move badges, like Killer Crossover, you’ll generally have better luck earning them if you try the moves when you’re within 25 feet of the basket.
  • When earning a badge requires you to meet the requirements “in a single season”, it means just that. You cannot carry over stats or games played to the next season to earn the badge.

think about it, you have two C/pf in the post battling it out and they both have bruiser, all your gonna have is two extremely tired big men.

Then you could add playstyles to it as well, an athletic scoring SGs 99 quickness would be more effective than a spot up, catch and shoot SGs 99 quickness would be. Many athletic shooters are able to create their own shots due to their quickness, speed and ball handling, where spot up and catch and shoot type shooters have to rely more on effective screens, picks and movement off the ball.

It will add a whole new challenge to the game and make choosing the wrong playstyle more painful.

So it's OK to go up against an opposing Center with Bruiser and you don't have it? I'd rather have a fair match and be tired but at least we are on even ground. The way it looks is that it was left off because of a glitch rather than on purpose.

Just got Interceptor on my Center.

Have you ever asked a question about a topic that should probably be the FIRST question posed by the minority of people who've been made aware of the topic but for some strange reason it is ignored like a distant AMBIENT noise? I wonder what and ambient button would do? I wonder where an ambient button would be as well.

So many people asking about ambient button lol.. Press X on Playstation/A on Xbox after you score.. The game literally tells you this when you are equipping your after basket celebrations..

Thanks DakkoN. I never would have used the celebration pack because I try to get back on defense. I've Never heard of an ambient button until today though. #Sunset

As long as you're playing with people you know, I learned last night that you can pretty much safely celebrate after every made basket so long as the person who is matched up with the inbound passer picks up your man. And if your matchup is the one inbounding, there really is no danger of celebrating as long as you do it as soon as it goes through the net.

I got Killer Crossover on my PG but have yet to get it at any other position. Any videos out there to show how it's done?

I'm playing on Superstar mainly so I should probably earn it sometime within the season or later.

In stead of choosing a playstyle i think the creation and caps could be more dynamic if you were to chose a mentor you want to model your game after. i.E i make a sf and choose Bird as my mentor. My height is capped at 6'10 but im able to make a 98 overall player with low physical caps. Dont like being slow? I can choose a dr.J or Pippen mentor with respective height caps and attribute caps. The goal here is to make every my player have a weakness for ballence. If if they choose to go for an allaround type "labron" height cap chould be 6'9 and you cant shoot or rebound as well as a larry type. This should also effect possible badges earned angain for a more balanced game. If you want to play like a 7'2 monstar from space jam thats fine but have that player locked to offline only..... Other examples of mentors pg,MAGIC,PEYTON,NASH,RONDO,WESTBROOK,STOKTON sg. kobe/mj, Wade,ALLEN/miller.

To piggy back on that, make the criteria to obtain badges according to play-style/mentor more realistic to that play-style/mentor. I could list tons of examples but for instance Wade when he joined the league lived primarily off his athleticism. So make it tougher to obtain fade ace, shot creator, but his playmaking ability was something that he naturally had when he entered the NBA. So the badges pertaining to that aspect of his game, he'd have a majority of them.

But of course as his career went on he altered his game to become more polished as his natural ability began to decline, he would begin to add fade ace & shot creator to his arsenal. So a decent progression/regression of those attributes would be crucial to the overall structure of the Play-Style/Mentor scenario as it's been mentioned.

Personally, I think this is a good thing. If I have a pass first PG. It should be much harder to obtain any of the shooting badges as my game doesn't need those badges. Makes choosing the wrong play-style a detriment in MyCareer as mentioned by a reply earlier. It also adds varying depth and options to the game. It's a more Sim way to create multiple types without everyone being the same. With this scenario we have laid out, it's easier to get "specialists" like Korver. It also prevents the crazy player builds we run into at the Park/Rec.

Very good idea from the community.
