MLB 15 The Show News Post

More MLB 15 The Show details have been revealed by Target. They also have a special pre-order price of $39.99 for PlayStation 4 gamers, but many are getting errors when trying to get it at that price, (thanks for the heads up Gleebo)!

Some of the new details that have been revealed on their product page include a new New Human IK Engine, new Tag System, revamped commentary, overhauled Franchise mode and more.

For the first time, partnerships with real-world equipment brands will bring MLB-accurate bats, gloves, shoes, and batting gloves to the game. Customize your Road to The Show player in the best gear from the sport’s best brands.

It’s not just the gear that’s more authentic this year. Players and teams also have more unique personalities and styles plus a wide array of emotional reactions to all the heartbreak and triumph on the field.

And that field will be more action-packed with new animations, a new tag system, and completely new Human IK engine. In 2015, playing the field will be as exciting as stepping up to the plate.

MLB 15 The Show also features major graphical improvements. Enhanced stadium lighting, Improved gloss and specular, resulting in more natural lighting on players. Seasonal day/night transitions have also been added into the world of The Show.

And the improvements aren’t all animations and graphics. The game itself has gotten deeper with more ways to play, earn rewards, and put together a Hall of Fame career.

Best of all, Universal rewards will mean that all of that gameplay earns Stubs that can be spent on licensed equipment, Road to The Show improvements, and virtual baseball cards. We’re introducing 30 Iconic MLB Alumni into our virtual player card pool, 1 representative for each team. These players span every historic baseball era of the last 70 years. Like all of our Universal Rewards, you have a chance of finding a historic virtual player card to add to your collection and utilize throughout MLB 15 The Show.

Make yourself a legend and never start your career or season over again. With Year-to-Year saves, users will be able to continue their Road to The Show players and Franchises from MLB 14 The Show into MLB 15 The show, and into future releases.“

All of that is only scratching the surface of how MLB 15 The Show is ready to prove that Baseball Is Better. Revamped commentary, improved load times, and an overhauled franchise mode are also on-deck to help make the 10th edition of The Show the best one yet.

All great points, either way, can't wait to hear some difference! Blzer, those guys were awesome! I loved the conversations during the loadings! Remember when Tim was ordering food and told Jim it was traffic!

It's not Matt. V it's the script lines!!!!

If they just went through and got rid of the same tired script lines we have been hearing since 07 it would go a long way to make the commentary sound more fresh and appealing

Even if they just reworded the lines and delivered it in a different way it would help improve it

If I have to hear Matt say the 58 foot breaking ball line again I'm going to go crazy

Well, that other guy was Jimmy Shorts, who is hilarious all on his own (not necessarily a sportscaster by any means though haha, just comedic relief all the way through). Plus, that would be the next generation of games. Tim Kitzrow began with NFL Blitz in the arcade/PSX days. I guess we could even throw Dan Stevens/Peter O'Keefe around in this conversation since NFL 2K came out in 1999.

Jim Hughson did the old Triple Play and NHL games.

Oh yeah, you're right, I had that backwards! lol, I used to quit games and go back to loading screens in slugfest just to hear the different stories! If only we could have skits like that during the shows loading times, Matt V would be funny, because he's awesome on hot stove.

I agree 100%. It doesn't matter if Vin Scully or Eric Nadel or whomever is doing the commentary in the game if they simply cannot make it translate. Even though Dan Stevens and Peter O'Keefe repeated in their games too, they were able to make the commentary work because they are career voice actors.

another benefit to voice acting would be availability of the actors/cost presumable. I am still liking the idea if it is a cost issue, MLBTS having their "own" crew and have a DLC subscription of a few bucks to have updated commentary every week/month ect would probably have a demand.

At the end of the year and the next release that content gets added in and the people not wanting to pay will get get that content the following year in the new version.

If DLC could be carried over like it was in the past (stadiums) I wouldnt mind this game having the option to pay extra for some of this stuff. Since saves carry over now too, if I buy a stadium/jersey/commentary/equipment etc and it carries over or have a subscription to just always get everything that comes out (as long as stuff we have always had never went as DLC in the future) I pay it.

Kay? Meh. Not much of a Yankees person but I wouldn't mind Cone and Singleton.

I like Sterling for Yankees games, but not for video games. Same with Kuiper and Krukow (Giants), apparently.

Either voice actors or national broadcasters really seem to fit the bill best the majority of the time, sad as it seems.

I could only imagine if we had regional guys doing a video game. It would be hilarious, depending on the person. Like imagine Jack Edwards doing an NHL video game.

One of my favorite all time calls from Jack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4fAG4qrPE4

But I could see Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy doing a pretty good national video game. They are not homers, like a Jack Edwards or Hawk Harrelson.

Of course as a Yanks fan, I'd love Sterling in the show! But I do think he'd be a great video game announcer, because just like Jon Miller, he's got "the perfect style" for a video game. You just know he'll get totally into it, imagine hearing that great booming voice through your speakers when you hit a homer!

Sterling was in a video game a looong time ago with Michael Kay. It was called All-Star Baseball 2000 on Nintendo 64. Ahhh yes...great times.

To be honest I think the Sox got lucky when Remy's son took the plea in his trial. Because I know I would not have felt comfortable hearing during the day, for instance that Jerry and his wife knew everything that was going on at the time, when he gave his testimony. And then at night everything is back to normal, with "Buenas noche amigos!!!"

Actually, I think it was be friggin hilarious to have Hawk Harrelson voice a game. As long as it was accurate to how he does play-by-play in real life, including:
1) talking for 10-15 minutes straight about players he played with/against back when he was in the league, and ignoring the actual game he is supposed to be calling

2) giving the silent treatment for a half inning whenever a relief pitcher gives up a go-ahead home run.

3) calling every umpire "terrible" or "horrible" if they make a call against the Chi Sox.

4) all classic 'Hawkisms' need to be included, including but not limited to "good guys/bad guys", "He Gone", "Can of Corn", "Us/Them", and of course "you can put it on the bbooooaaarrdddd.... YES!"

5) bonus if they include Steve Stone as the color commentator and they motion capture him rolling his eyes and shaking his head every time Hawk goes on one of his tirades.

Yeah, Sterling was in ASB 2000, but imagine how much better it would be now on ps4!

Can we petition to get Bob Uecker in the game as play-by-play? I think he'd be epic, and he has done acting before, most notably in Major League, so I think he'd be a natural. They could even use some funny lines with him from the movie like "Juuuuust a bit outside." He'd be one of a few that could be convincing in the delivery of comedic lines from time to time. If Uecker were in the game I think I'd die a happy man. And I'm not even a Brewers fan.

I get everyone wants new commentary or play by play guys, but Ramone has already come on OS and said Matty V and company aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

I guess I'm in the minority because I like this commentary crew.

I have no issues with the crew either, but I do understand everyone's gripe with how it is now.
