Super Mega Baseball News Post

If you’re an older sports gamer, than you probably have fond memories of past baseball games such as Ken Griffey Jr.’s Winning Run, R.B.I Baseball (Classic version) and Baseball Stars. What do all of these games have in common? Well, that would be a simple, engaging, and fun approach to America’s past time. While games like this are a rarity these days, the ambitious developer, Metalhead, aims to bring a small piece of that era back, with Super Mega Baseball. Did they succeed?

On the select team screen before you go into edit players, hit the right stick left I think and it will say new. Continue and it will let you rename the team.

So far my only gameplay complaints are that the CPU seems to throw a few too many walks and they also don't seem to manage their pitching staff very well.

The excessive walks are mostly a result of the CPU leaving in tired/low mojo pitchers. In extra innings games, you can basically just drive up the CPU's pitch counts and wear down their staff until they have no one left to sub in.

Spoiler

I guess the game either needs larger bullpens or the CPU just needs to do a better job of leaving the right guys on the mound and pulling rattled/fatigued pitchers off at the appropriate times.

Haven't got the game yet, has anyone seen controls listed anywhere?
Anyone playing on ps3? Does it look close to the ps4 version everyone is streaming?

I tried a game on the highest difficulty (99 ego) to see if that would fix the "too many walks" issue, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Once the CPU pitchers reach a certain level of fatigue/low mojo, you don't even need to swing the bat. They'll just throw walk, after walk, after walk:

Played a couple games and I like it a lot. Love how you can pre-load on the power swing by holding the square button. The batting in the game is the best ever, IMO.

The crowd looks and sound really good, they get pretty loud in 5.1 digital surround. Just wish there were commentary to to fill in some of the dead areas.

Running the bases in this game is the best formula, been used before in other games. Wish The Show was like that, I wouldn't have sold it. A lot less thinking and feels more natural.

So far it's an 8/10

Yikes, that's no good.

Is there any way to turn off the auto lock of the batting curser?

Absolutely a blast to play. It's like a cross between the original RBI baseball, baseball stars, baseball simulator 1.000, and ken griffey jr on SNES (I'm showing my age here lol).

I intended on playing one game before I went to bed and ended up playing three. The controls are perfect and the game moves at the perfect pace. The only wish I have is for online head-to-head play. That would be incredible! But there is plenty of content and I'll definitely be playing until the Show drops and beyond.

Bought the game last night, played it, Loved It! It is an absolute blast to play! I made up a team of my friends and relatives (using their cartoon likenesses) and started season mode. It was a riot! Looking forward to playing this game a lot. Between this game, MLB 14 The Show, NBA 2K15, and The Golf Club...there's a lot of great sports gaming right now on PS4!

Any way to change if the batter is lefty or righty? I didn't see this when editing my players.
