MLB 15 The Show News Post

MLB 15 The Show will feature licensed equipment this year. Check out the trailer here. The trailer also mentions legends coming this year, so you guys can talk about that.

The game ships on March 31, 2015 for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

Below are a few key features that were announced.

The 10th edition of the franchise, MLB 15 The Show is a more immersive and exciting baseball experience than ever before with substantial improvements to both gameplay and graphics.

Licensed Equipment – For the first time ever, partnerships from various brands will bring accurate bats, gloves, cleats, and batting gloves to the game.

Year-to-Year Saves – Users who purchased MLB 14 The Show will be able to continue their Franchise and Road to the Show progress in MLB 15 The Show. Saves between the two releases will be forward-compatible, meaning you never have to worry about starting your Franchise or Road to the Show seasons over!

Universal Rewards – Simply playing the game earns Stubs that can be spent on licensed equipment, Road to The Show improvements, and virtual baseball cards

I've got a ton of Studs that I earned last season and ones that I got from a pre-order that I never used. Wonder if they carry over to MLB 15?

You would think but it appears there are many that just like to play "dress up" more then actually playing the game.

That's because of the "™" symbol in his screen name. I had to remove my ® in order to visit my arena as well.

Still a cool name, nonetheless lol.

On topic: OS is the most anxiety-filled group (overall), that I've ever encountered lol. And it's cyclical.

I would like to know when all stadiums will have real LED boards with stats instead of scrolling logos during gameplay. Going by this teaser traler I still see no real LED boards.

Like some of you have stated, the infield dirt looks much better this year. Not washed out brown anymore. A more rich tannish, brown now

I never really took much stock into the first trailer of the year for "The Show". Feb is the key...not December. There should be a #Overreaction tweet right about now.

I am just glad and surprised every year this game gets released at a high quality, never thought I would get back into baseball again but The Show did that for me and I am grateful.

So based on these quotes from The Man himself, we can assume that the features released so far are just the tip of the iceberg.

Hopefully this can cool the hotheads thinking that '15 is just a roster update.

Patience is a virtue, they say.

Just show the teaser and maybe the release date. We figured most like minded individuals would realize it's early and it's just a tease.

PSX was a big platform for us as we've never been involved that much in any giant conference. Countless people walked up to me and said the teaser got them interested in a baseball game. So it was a win for our small team. OS at some point will realize the dynamics of these things............or maybe not lol.

The negative reaction to the trailer reminds me of when Tiger fans complain about Dombrowski being a terrible GM because it's the first week of December and he hasn't signed a bunch of relievers or an outfielder yet, when he has at least two months of offseason to work with. I always look at this December info/trailers as something to whet the appetite.

Or maybe it's BRANDS, with an S... at least, that's what I got from it.

I'll have to see a bit more before I decide to break open my Puigy bank on this one.

Plural meaning more then one brand. Just because you only saw Nike does not mean it is just Nike.

What are YOU trying to say? Hopefully it's something along the lines of "I'm aware the game won't be finished for another 4 months, which is 1/3rd of their entire development cycle. I also realize they probably haven't finished adding the other brands of equipment yet."

I have been an obsessed fan of the MLB The Show series since its inception. I've always been ridiculously excited when each year's new trailer came out and never understood the people who were unimpressed. This year is the first year that I can sadly say I am truly unimpressed with the trailer. I know, I know, it's just the first glimpse we have, but still. To me it looks exactly the same as last year's edition. I couldn't care less about licensed equipment. I care about gameplay, graphics, sound, announcers, stats, animations, etc., none of which has been featured in the trailer.

Legends sounds cool, but seems completely superfluous since we already have the Roster Vault. Crossover saves I guess is nice, but over the past few years, my Franchises tend to dwindle away around the end of the summer, and I tend to stop playing. That may be in part to parenthood and in part to whether or not my team stinks in real life (playing with this year's Red Sox lost its fun as the season progressed).

I am mainly a Franchise player, so I am eager to see what changes there are in that respect. But so far, this is the first year where my excitement is lackluster, to say the least. Although, I am very intrigued by the "player personality" feature since I have been wishing for this for years. Let's hope it's immersive and done correctly. Looking forward to more news coming out, but keeping my expectations tempered...
