MLB 15 The Show News Post

MLB 15 The Show will feature licensed equipment this year. Check out the trailer here. The trailer also mentions legends coming this year, so you guys can talk about that.

The game ships on March 31, 2015 for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

Below are a few key features that were announced.

The 10th edition of the franchise, MLB 15 The Show is a more immersive and exciting baseball experience than ever before with substantial improvements to both gameplay and graphics.

Licensed Equipment – For the first time ever, partnerships from various brands will bring accurate bats, gloves, cleats, and batting gloves to the game.

Year-to-Year Saves – Users who purchased MLB 14 The Show will be able to continue their Franchise and Road to the Show progress in MLB 15 The Show. Saves between the two releases will be forward-compatible, meaning you never have to worry about starting your Franchise or Road to the Show seasons over!

Universal Rewards – Simply playing the game earns Stubs that can be spent on licensed equipment, Road to The Show improvements, and virtual baseball cards

And it wasn't until mlb 11 where they were really hitting their strides with graphics and game play. It sucks having to wait a few years into the development cycle of a new Gen console. But with a crew as small as the shows and working on 3 sku's at the same time, they do do a damn good job on putting out a solid playable game year after year.
Well Said!!

Very underwhelming first info. Graphically the same as The Show 14 which already wasn't that amazing- I know it's early but I guess if they created new player models they wouldn't release a trailer featuring actual gameplay with the old ones but find another solution to present the game at this early point..

And it seems like a joke if those 3 features (legends-idc, equipment-nice but minor, year to year saves- was already for 2014) are some of the more outstanding ones.
I'm just hoping there will be more or they really invested the time this year to fix all those minor annoyances that accumulated.

I can't wait for March 31st, but I can't help but be underwhelmed, just judging by a simple initial trailer.

- Graphics look exactly the same. Which means the player models are still the same from the PS3. Not sure how strongly I should feel about this.

- They might not be ready to release more information, but Legends and Authentic Equipment don't have me hyped for the new game or anything.

I'm expecting more to come shortly, so no reason to worry

For me, being a roster guy, I'm not a fan of the March 31st release.

I will wait until SCEA release the hardcore fact sheet on this game before making any type of judgment. This is nothing more than a general population trailer.

Until then, I'll just enjoy the show.

I will agree with about 5 people who have already posted this, but the graphics look nearly identical to '14. That's a bit disappointing, BUT I'll take it if SCEA was able to clean up the animations a little bit while making minor advances graphically.

Also, pumped about the y-2-y saves because I am 100 games deep into my chise! Forward compatible is sweet music to my ears and this means, in all likelihood, that the OSFM rosters for '14 will be the starting point for MLB15 roster development instead of creating spects from scratch every year. That will save the entire OS roster community a month or more of work. That's a big deal.

And that's the part some people FAIL to realize. The show has a small team working across 3 platforms on a budget.

Not going to get my hopes up too high, but I hope they include classic stadiums for 2015.

Wow...i really love the Y2Y addition...IMO, all sports should have this option!!!!

I wonder if the new features in 15 (like equipments etc) will be incorporated to the 14 saved Franchise and RTTS.

Never buying this game again until I hear the same glitches/bugs that are a repeat EVERY year are gone. Freezes with balls in dirt and other similar problems make this game not enjoyable.

I can't comment on looks, I just hope that when we get to hear commentary, we have some kind of improvement. If not, that's what will disappoint me.

Did you play 14 on the ps4? Graphics were great.

If NBA 2k14 was able to look great and it was the first game on a new sysmem then why cant mlb the show? That makes no sinces. So you are telling me that we are going to have to weight for mlb 17 to have a big jump? That would be the 4th game on ps4. So NBA 2K was able to have a big jump the first year but yet it is going to take 4 years for mlb to do the same thing? Makes no sinces. If NBA 2k14 was able to make a big jump first year there is no reason that mlb shouldn't beable to do the same thing.
You can keep telling yourself that if it's what helps you sleep better at night.

Some one said something about the players arms being to short in till like mlb 10 or something and yes that is true but still the game looked way better in mlb 09 and 08 then it did before on ps2. Even though the arms got fixed in like mlb 10 the game has a whole only looked a little better then mlb 09. I didn't buy mlb 07 the first game on ps3 but form what I have heard the game didn't look that great and yet mlb 08 the second one looked way way better. So there is no reason the second version cant make a big jump like it did on ps3. I played ever version of mlb the show form like 08-14 and ever year the graphics jumps where small. Most of the time with sports games you see just small graphcis jumps form year to year in less you are going form a new system to a old system. Really mlb 14 should have looked better and if not this year. Mlb 15 should look way better and then after that starting with mlb 16 the game should only look a little better.
That proves the point that the MLB team is much smaller than the 2k team.

Don't think about it in terms of what another game does, think of it in the terms of what this team has historically done.

After a year of next gen gaming, these graphics look incredibly dated. I know graphics aren't everything, but sports game tend to push the envelope with the best graphics possible & this is disappointing. Every other sports game on the market looks incredible.

If big changes aren't made this year, it's a skip for me. First time I'll be skipping since I got into the series.

I guess this is where being visually impaired comes in handy... Guess that's why I'm such a harsh grader when it comes to commentary.

# 59 PitholeCreek @ 12/06/14 05:50 PM
This definitely wasn't the best way to make a good first impression. Licensed equipment is nice and adds an element of realism, but continuing to see gravity-defying uniform sleeves is disappointing.

Please just confirm for me they have Coca Cola licensed, no excuse anymore to have the most unique ballpark feature (giant coke bottle in the outfield) missing because of licensing
