Madden NFL 15 News Post


Another update has arrived for Madden NFL 15. It is available now for PlayStation 4 users, weighing in at 398 MB. It should be available later tonight for Xbox One users.

UPDATE: It is available now for Xbox One.

but youre right. I'm purposely trying to discredit things and make false statements in the wrong thread. Be a detective.

No, go read the thread, you were claiming to get "at least 5 holding calls per game" and when aholbert called you out on it, you said that was on a 360 and you knew you were posting in the wrong forums.

Go read it its in black and white.

I was VERY happy with the pre patch gameplay, but since:

1) AM versus CPU in CCM is a "slot machine" as opposed to the former "passably sim" version...

2) On AP they jacked up the CPU PBK versus the HUM controlled player to such a degree that my RDT with 90 STR gets pushed 5 yards or more off the LOS (when engaged) with their PBK set above 5 or so...they have no weight or strength whatsoever...they engage and are pushed back in a "floating" scenario...this leads to too much time in the pocket for the CPU QB, who then has an unrealistically high completion percentage...

3) BUT, when you have to set their PBK to 5, to have some participation back to the USER controlled pass rusher their QBA goes to heck...and so on and so on...

It's comically poor gameplay, and I'm kind of surprised that a relative few are noticing these VERY obvious issues...

As always, I'm intrigued by trying to "solve the puzzle" in the hopes of being "rewarded" with decent gameplay...

But since this has lead to yet another TOTAL slider rebuild on a different difficulty level, I'm prob going to run out of time and patience before that actually happens...

IF they'd just give us the option to use or NOT use these patches, I'd have avoided it and be a couple seasons deep in a CCM that I WAS totally enjoying...

I gave AP a shot post patch (A&S) and saw the weightlessness/floating/strength stuff too. I was seeing awesome stat numbers but i cant get past guys flying around like they are in a Bruce Lee flick. EA needs to realize quick fixes have awful effects on other things. They play chess without thinking ahead.

Seems like they play checkers more than chess. They don't think ahead either way.

On the PS4 home / load screen, you can put the cursor over the game and then hit the "options" button...

It's says "recent updates" or something to that effect and it'll tell you if it's pending or installed...

Not the clearest description, but I'm sure you'll get it...

on ps4 you hit options while on game icon and you will see the option to check recent patches you've downloaded. peace

I get the same results on penalties on both systems. From my end, it didn't make a difference to post in that thread. I still got that same results on my X1 before this most recent patch now it's 1-2 if that a game.

As I just said I got the same results on X1 as I did on 360 penalty wise. Post patch, it's even 1-2 if that a game.

Also, just checked. And I said I was using 360. I never said I only had the 360

Whatever helps you sleep. I'm not lying, nor do I have any interest in doing so. I'm here for the same reason everyone else is.

It connects more, but hardened up, more violent. Nails a player in opposite direction, and you feel you have more control over laying someone out over middle when you need to. To me, it almost seemed absent when 15 came out. One thing I didn't like, is two of my players throwing it were injured during a game, but that may be a player ratings issue.

Trust me, I don't need help from anyone in the forums to sleep at night. Was just pointing out what you had posted.

It's great if it was misguided but don't pretend like this quote doesn't elude to the fact that you only have a 360.

wow, yeah. i started playing a cfm game last night for the first time after the update, and was a bit disappointed. it was a bit rag doll for my liking.

so determined to play some football, i put in ncaa 14, and holy smokes, is that a step backward from current gen....

i'm going to have some free time today, hopefully i'll be able to give this a solid second try...

Edit: upon further review, the game wasnt as bad as i originally posted. I got my butt kicked in the game i played, but it felt pretty good. I can play this.

King - I'm a new PS4 user but after having this patch unilaterally installed I did some digging around and I think you can configure your console so that you only pull updates rather than having them automatically pushed.

I'm at work now so I can't give the exact menu path but I found some sort of system update screen where the PS4 default was for the push. Uncheck the boxes and then you should have to 'check for application updates' on the menu bar with all the icons for your installed games on it.

Disclaimer: I'm not sure if this is correct as there have been no updates to any of the games I own since I did this.

Hope im not breaking any kind of rule here recommending a particular set because i think all the slider guys do a phenominal job. That said ive been using FistofRages's latest post patch AM set and it plays very well. Its challenging yet fun, animations arent clunky/weightless and stats are pretty well in line with RL. You will see deep balls, smart AI, and a decent mix of penalties. Most of all youll have fun which has been lacking far as Madden goes. Fumbles are at 2 and ints are at 50 which means you have to play extremely smart but trust me this set is fun. I have been on the forums trying every set since august and back again each time a patch threw things out of whack. I just wanted to recommend this set to anyone whos completely frustrated with the game and ready to give up like i was.

Im using this set with the tuner and all patches installed.

I think the most definitive way to check is to try to play an online game. You have to download and install the patch before it will let you play online.
