NBA Live 15 News Post


NBA Live 15 is available today for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Since more people will have their hands on it today, we figured it would be better to start a fresh new topic.

NOTE: If you are looking for the game or demo in the PS Store, they typically update later in the afternoon.

EA Sports has posted their full list of controls for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Below is a list of items that have arrived in the first in-game update:
  • Updated scanned player heads for D. Rose, J. Noah, K. Leonard, and C. Anthony
  • Updated San Antonio Spurs Championship jerseys
  • Cleveland, New Orleans, and Charlotte courts have been updated
  • Updated jersey icons for MIN alternate, MIA Floridians (Hardwood Classics), PHI road, CLE alt 2
  • Updated accessory colors for new Cavaliers uniforms
  • Updated "Pull the Chair" Post Move
  • Updated catch animations on inbound passes
  • Updated "Up and Under" layup animations
  • Updated team show colors for Sacramento
  • Jordan shoes updated for players in Rookie Showcase.
  • Steal rating updated for K. Humphries & J. Hamilton
  • Updated accessories on several players
  • Updated rosters to reflect recent player moves
  • Updated player shoes in the All-Star Game
  • Moved some players to the free agency pool
  • Updated player portraits in Live Ultimate Team
  • Info updated on several players, including playstyles, positions, jersey numbers and more
  • Foot planting with pump fakes has been updated
  • Shot timing updated for free throws

I am sorry... but I have to say since Live 15 has come out I have been playing it exclusively.. after a few days of playing straight(without playing any other game) I felt like playing the other game(2k) after just one quarter I quickely close the app and put back on Live 15.. now not saying the other game is trash.. but Live does something different that feels just rite.. game play is fun.. starting to get more and more realistic.. ball movement is great.. spacing needs to be tweaked.. why did they take the bounce pass out??? I remember in Live 14 it was double tap the pass button. or lobs to the post..

Live has been out the game for the past few years.. t

I honestly don't know how I feel about the game yet, I've been playing and playing. Superstar exclusively, except for a few ultimate team games. The dribbling controls feel like ISO motion which I really don't like. I remember when live once had one to one dribble controls with the right stick, not canned animations that the sticks activate. Am I dreaming? The sticks need to be tightened all around, maybe its their way of simulating momentum, but I'd prefer them tighter.

the more I play the game, the more I see canned animations. there are times I KNOW the CPU will score before they do because the animation looks different when its initiated. I watched Damian lillard from a STANDSTILL at the top of the key behind the three point line take two and a half steps then dunk the ball! Really? dunk from the three point line without dribbling?

I'm having alot of fun! IM HAVING FUN PLAYING THE GAME!!!


but after playing, I really see almost all of the issues I saw from last year. But I think its just the method they use at this point. There's no way you can do two man motion capture, even four man motion capture and accurately simulate this beautiful game called basketball. The reason being when you copy and paste different four man interactions it just doesn't mix. at this point motion capture in general for ALL SPORTS GAMES needs to be overhauled.


This engine is showing it's age. I'm telling you this is the same engine that's being used since live 05,06 maybe older. Of course with new updates but it definitely is. Not that I expected different but the new skins expose alot more because the realistic looking players remind you they're fake when they start canned animations

the pick and roll it's fun until I'm stuck in an animation that pulls me into the screener even though I avoided the screen then I watch the roller get an easy basket because I can't pull away from the screener even though my back is to him. And there's so much clipping in the paint. And

the drop step button is really flawed. Maybe how I use it is flawed. It could really just be me which is why I started my post with I don't know how I feel. But I also don't like the canned lines from Mike been everytime I press Y in the post. The line happens on the press of the button before the move I'd even done.

Also, teams run two different offensive sets, 30 teams and my only choices are 3-2 or 1-4 high? Whoa! How about a create a play book. Where we could design or own plays in a practice setting, literally design each route for each player down to the shouted each player needs. And I'm saying this! You guys have to come up with a NEW way to no cap because the way you guys are no capping just won't capture real basketball

Sometimes i just go to the practice and imagine the possibilities, lol....there you can really see how smooth movement COULD be without all the suction, odd interactions. Live is on its way man, there are just some things that need to be ironed out...

Simple things like hitting cutters or a quick pass to a big for a mid range jumper are more cumbersome than they should be either because of a delay in the pass itself of some weird lead animation moving the big away from where they should be...it really hurts the pick and pop game...

Definitely enjoying the game for what it is though...just want to see it get better..

I have to disagree with some of what you say.. yes the game has a few canned anamations.. but the other game has more10x more.. name one free flowing sports sim that doesnt have canned anamations? Live is the first basketball game to have real physics in the paint.. like I said before live has been out the game for a few years now. Do they deserve a trophy or reward for getting back in the game?? NO. what they are doing is proving themselves little by little.. I like where there going with the series.. they have alot to improve on, but at the same time they did alot rite... To many gamers Live is a a new game.. becasue everyone and there mother have been playing 2k for the past few years so thats all we knew.. people complain about the controls? watch the learn live videos.. this is the game we should have gotten last year.. but it is what it is.. I hope they do the same amount of updates they did with Live 14, if not more..

I've seen a few end of game celebrations here lately. One being the Trevor Ariza "MJ" jump that I posted earlier. Another one it was like Lebron went over towards the scorers table at center court and did a "Come ON! Hype the crowd" type of thing. Unfortunately the replay didn't work on the second one. Cut out directly after the buzzer.

Yeah it seems the post game on court stuff is there but it doesn't show right.

I noticed this in my last game. When the game ended I clicked on replay wondering what it would replay.

To my surprise it replayed the post game. It was glitchy but it worked.

My players filtered off the court and bench players got up to shake hands and talk with them.

It's in there, it's just like EA is ending the game too soon post final whistle so the game doesn't display the post game activity.


To explain glitchy...it showed the players shaking hands and talking and then skipped forward like 4 seconds. What I saw was the players warped to new locations on the court but continued to shake hands and talk.

Hmmm...maybe this is why post game activity isnt showing, maybe it was glitchy like this so they just end the game right at the whistle to not show it.

I will grab some video, I am sure it occurs every game if you go look at the instant replay after the game ends.

This so didn't work against the Pacers last night, because I had this set all game long and they still shot 60% from 3pt land.

Are you doing the double dpad click, D changes?

twice left is focus on the star and twice right is focus on shooters.

yeah I know when physics turns on because the game kind of stutters when it happens.


I am not new to live by any means I do have fun playing it. its the only basketball game I play because quite frankly I'm a "live head" I love this series. Ive invested in it, shoot, I've spent about $100 on the game last year factoring in money spent on ultimate team. so please forgive me if I sound like another 2k lover, I am NOT! I do stand by my feelings on the dribbling controls, if you have Xbox check my achievements, I have the learn live achievement. I've practiced and practiced and practiced. I've spent more time in the practice gym then on the court. I DO NOT LIKE the hold direction on the right stick to dribble idea. it feels like they're TRYING to be like 2k's ISO motion which tried to implement those controls After live initially had freestyle dribbling back in the 2000's. I'm not crazy. the responsiveness isn't all the way there. they seem delayed. its like you have to find a rhythm that's like a step slow (MUCH BETTER THAN LAST YEAR THOUGH!)


but it could just be me. which is why I prefaced my comments with I honestly don't know how I feel about the game. the game has a different pace then last year which I have yet to really master, I sometimes finding myself pressing the shoot button then waiting for the animation to catch up.
I'll try slowing down. it could be me and my opinion will evolve as the year continues.




In live 10 the control I had was second to none. I literally could go to the hole knowing I'm gonna finish with my left hand, and I would finish with my left hand. I can't do that with live 15.

Confused ?? Isn't the synergy and rosters suppose to update every day ?

Or are the rosters being manually updated again ?

Rosters update manually. Synergy updates daily, updating tendencies etc.

Back in the Live 09/Live 10 days didn't synergy update the rosters or was that EA guys (at the time) doing it ? Could've sworn synergy would update rosters and even create players (that were generic and then Steph would correct them).

I agree with you the game should have had Synergy out of the box based on last year I mentioned this a few days ago.

But hey I guess better late than never...

I would love to see them expand the playbooks which would add more realism to the halfcourt game....

Sliders once again should have been added there are guys who dunked in traffic who do not have that tendency but nothing we can do about it unless they manually edit some players dunk vs layup frequency

There used to be a slider that could control that aspect...

Overall good video of the gameplay there are things that were out of your control (weird looking shot animations) but i like how played the game SIM style.

The game has been playing better over the past few days. I have all shooting based on ratings and I'm seeing more realistic shooting percentages and PIP over the course of 48 minutes.

There are definitely some short comings, but the potential is there. I've been playing a lot more Live than I've played the other game as of late.

However, one thing that will dampen the series imo - and it's not even game related...CUSTOMER SERVICE! We're a week into the regular season and don't have day one rosters. Haven't heard a peep from EA. Will has been a great advocate, but it'd be nice to hear from them. It's just not acceptable imo. There are people (like myself) who wouldn't mind going all in on Live, but because of issues like this, I gotta keep the alternative on deck.

Still waiting on a patch to fix the missing halftime/postgame shows that are missing after that Day 1 patch.

YEP, stunned that EA hasn't set a word, and there hasn't been a roster update either, honestly - I'm concerned this game isn't going to receive the support needed given its limited sales.

The human shot release timing has to be tuned.

The jumpshots now are just unnatural. No one releases a shot that quickly.

And even if you do get "great timing" most of the shots won't go in (for me at least).

Because there are no sliders, I've been trying to find where I'll have any success.

-Superstar w/Ratings + Skill plays the best game but you have to play nearly perfect just to keep the score close.

-Superstar w/Ratings only allows me to play my game but somewhat unrealistically as I was blowing out the CPU.

May go back to see how All-Star plays w/Ratings + Skill.

We definitely don't need 50 different sliders but things like Close Shot %, Mid Range % and 3 Point Range % would help immensely.

I will say Synergy has nailed the CPU FT shooting as they shoot near their real life %.

I'm so close to just giving up on this game and just going back to the other. If my copy wasn't a digital one I would have already jumped ship.

EA does a lot of things right but when it comes to being there for the LOYAL CUSTOMERS after RELEASE OF THERE PRODUCT it fails miserably in that area. We all shouldn't be surprised because this is what they do. Remember Ncaa Basketball 10???
