NBA Live 15 News Post

Back in the summer, it was hinted by EA in an interview that a NBA Live 15 demo would come much earlier than fans expected.

Now two weeks from release and we have zero news on any demo release date, only a vague promise one is coming on Twitter. With no date yet announced, there is definitely a reason for concern considering the two week window is when most games typically deliver demos for fans to see what a new title is bringing to the table. At this point, we don't have any concrete information on if a pre-release demo will even happen. With no real goodwill with sports gaming fans, especially after last year's release which was our lowest rated AAA game ever, there's very little reason for anyone to consider the game until someone verifies how it is going to play.

The good news is that EA Access users will get a six hour trial of the game before release, and its likely at least some media outlets will also have the game soon. Thus, its likely we'll start to find out more about this year's NBA Game from EA soon enough. It just would have been nice for users to get a chance to play some 5-on-5 action before release to make their minds up that way. Here's to hoping the recent trends of no pre-release sports game demos is an unfortunate series of events that won't be repeated next season!

I honestly assumed "earlier than expected" was out of the window with the delay....

Yeah I don't get why they are being so vague on the subject. I'm assuming that it's coming next week or on the 28th. I understand the game was delayed but I think it's ridiculous that they would say the things they say and then not even release a demo two weeks before release. Hopefully I'm wrong but it seems like EA is blowing smoke again.

I don't get it either, but it's definitely a reason to be skeptical. A lot of what we've seen from them so far has been good, but when they still can't show us even a few minutes of gameplay, 2 weeks before their release date, it just doesn't bode well.

I'd love to see this game be good, it's just hard to draw that conclusion based on the 50 seconds of actual 5 on 5 they've shown.

Man...people relax! I don't get why you need a demo two weeks out from the game releasing. Its not like playing it now or days before release will make a difference. Chill, calm down, relax lol

Because we are excited to try the new things. It's like telling a kid to wait till Christmas to open his gifts. It makes no difference if you get it now or 4 days from now but all the kid wants is to play with new toys. I love demos. I get to try the game and get use to how everything flows and works. Then when the game does come out I can just hope online and not have to worry about me not not knowing something and having to adjust on the fly.

Not entirely true. A demo will determine a purchase or not for some.

It's simple for Live....they need consumers to believe that they have a good/solid B-ball experience. If they believe that they would have released a demo. If they don't believe in the game why should I. say what you want about the other game but at least B-Ball wise it plays well. the sad thing is that they could leverage their server quality to get people to buy their game with some solid gameplay. heck they could have a live demo of the finish product with their 2 best gamers to show how the game is intended to be played. Now they have contradicted themselves so much that I totally do not trust them. who advertises screenshots but no extended video....im so disappointed as NBA Live 95 was the reason I got into sports gaming.......rant ended

It was a quality rant, my man. I feel the same way, it isn't about me actually getting to play the game early, I'll rent the game before I'll even consider buying it anyway. It's more about confidence that they are releasing a product that's at least comparable to what we've seen from their competitor. I would be completely fine with them releasing a 5 or 10 minute video of 2 of their developers playing the game, just so we can get an idea what to expect.

P.S. Live '95 FTW!!!

EA just tweeted we're getting a demo.

Months ago EA tweeted we were getting a demo early. On top of that half the stuff they tweeted about NBA Live 14 turned out to be lies. I think people are justified with the criticism.

As far as getting a demo early, EA has no excuse. That probably got thrown out the window when the release date changed but even so, EA needed to let people know.
How do you know its false when past history says EA won't live up to the promise and release a demo? Right now I have no confidence in them releasing a demo. They can tweet it all they want but until I'm downloading it to my console it's all talk.

There was a demo for NBA Elite 11. Hopefully we'll get one for NBA Live 15, a game that is actually releasing.

I don't think releasing an early, bug-filled demo is good for promoting a product. By delaying Live they basically said this isn't ready and there is some scary crap in there that we'd rather you not experience. So a demo, which is usually a build at least 2-3 months old, must have been lousy.

I always want to play a demo first to help make a decision so I'd like one too. But a bad demo will only cripple their shaky foundation imo. I would like EA to be more open about it. And their game has to be gold now so I'd like some full gameplay videos too.

MADDEN didn't get a demo this year. The Show hasn't released a demo in about 5 years. Companies view them as negative - either in the amount of effort it takes to produce and possibly in the negative impact on sales. I think they should release one a few weeks AFTER the game releases to spark new interest and have a new build that is good.

What's false is you saying the article said that there would be no demo, when that didn't even close to what they said. The criticisms the article made are be same you just concurred with, so where's the issue?

This whole "OS is bashing Live" kick you seem to be on needs to stop....You're not even making sense at this point...

Unless people can see the future, no one should write an article saying we are/aren't getting something based on whats happened in the past.
This article is just saying we haven't gotten any concrete news of a demo release, which is true. I don't see what's the problem with this little write up.

When I was on NBALiveTeamStream, I spoke to a few people who said they got banned from OS by you for comparing Live to 2K and calling out 2K's criticisms.

Quite a few people in the Pre Order thread seem to feel the same way. It's clear OS has been anti Live for quite some time. All i've done is be respectful and try to keep things in perspective.
I know exactly what im saying... stop trying to cry foul on every post you see that you percieve is bashing. You're calling on mods when there were no mods here.

It would behoove you not to try to argue on that one.

...and what's apparent is that you haven't been here long enough to make any broad blanket judgements about this website unless you're speaking from the point of view of someone who was here and got banned in the past in which case there would definitely be a problem.

Smh, this is what happens when a couple of "likes" and cosigns go to your head....

When "keeping it real" goes wrong

You REALLY haven't been here long enough to say what the site is.

There were people in here playing live and editing it back in 2003 til it got cancelled so please stop it.

It's time for you to stop acting like the victim and stop acting like the internet is an audition for american idol as well. I've seen you do this too many times already and im telling you to cut it out.

Anyway, back to the demo discussion
