NBA Live 15 News Post

Back in the summer, it was hinted by EA in an interview that a NBA Live 15 demo would come much earlier than fans expected.

Now two weeks from release and we have zero news on any demo release date, only a vague promise one is coming on Twitter. With no date yet announced, there is definitely a reason for concern considering the two week window is when most games typically deliver demos for fans to see what a new title is bringing to the table. At this point, we don't have any concrete information on if a pre-release demo will even happen. With no real goodwill with sports gaming fans, especially after last year's release which was our lowest rated AAA game ever, there's very little reason for anyone to consider the game until someone verifies how it is going to play.

The good news is that EA Access users will get a six hour trial of the game before release, and its likely at least some media outlets will also have the game soon. Thus, its likely we'll start to find out more about this year's NBA Game from EA soon enough. It just would have been nice for users to get a chance to play some 5-on-5 action before release to make their minds up that way. Here's to hoping the recent trends of no pre-release sports game demos is an unfortunate series of events that won't be repeated next season!

I call it like I see it....

You've once again derailed a thread for no reason...You still can't provide a quote saying what you claimed the article said...and go off and some "I've talked to people off this site that said...." rant when you get called out on it...sorry, it's wack and comes off as trying too hard.

If you don't like what "OS has become" why not leave?

I honestly don't think it matters at ALL.

There are the same people here who either said they liked last years game or are going out to pre order no matter if its been seen or not. Some of these same ones are asking for a demo but they're going to buy the game regardless.

Article never said there wasn't a demo coming out...but yeah...more than happy to drop it, "it" doesn't have a point. Keep fishin though.

Anyway, it would be pretty funny if the demo came out tomorrow and made all of this moot.

Looking forward to test driving this game!

I don't care when it drops, as long as it drops so I can try the game. Last years demo saved me money, hopefully this year's will earn EA/Tiburon some money.

Lol. "Let it go and move on" continued to troll the Live forums for "Live bashing." AKA anything less than unwavering optimism and support of NBA Live.

But I am going to give them a chance to show us what they have this year before I rip them apart like I did last year and with Elite 11. Some people are judging Live 15 based off What Elite 11 and Live 14 and other past Live's rather than judge 15 on it's own.
The only thing I want to say about that is judging off of previous history should be ok. You either build loyalty to your product, or you build ccriticism. Live over the last decade has taken countless steps that deserve criticism. If you bought Live 14 and were waiting on Elite 11 and Live 13, you have every reason to scrutinize every delay, misstep and attempt to shield the game. Fool me once shame on you.... you know the rest. With all due respect it would take a brand new team and approach for me to give them the benefit of the doubt at this point. But when you promise a demo and other things in an open letter and follow through on none of them, as well as delay a game, it's hard to ignore the recent history as well.

A demo isn't going to change my mind. Just want to see 5v5 player movement.

According to Live's twitter the game will be platinum by the end of this week so I guess they were planning to deliver a retail-build demo since its delay, trying to avoid any game-breaking bugs (ala Jesus Bynum) which could not convince people to get the game.

As for the live demo talk... I was looking forward to it... it honestly help me determine whether or not I bought the game, when I would buy it, or how much would I be willing to spend for it. I eventually bought the game simply for a change of pace (and the fact that I got it off ebay for like 10 bucks) keep in mind I am a sports gamer I dont care who makes a game just as long as it can hold my attention for a few mins of the day... but I do respect quality. The better the quality the quicker I will get it and the more that I am willing to spend. I dont get games just bc everyone loves it or hates it. Believe it or not I think that live 14 had some good qualities to it. Was it game of the year material HELL NO! but it had good qualities nonetheless. While I think that the 2k series has produced the better game overall still think that live had a couple of advantages alone the way. So long story short I am really hoping that they sneak the demo in sometime this week which I highly doubt.

I don't know what that means, is it that it's going gold plus the first-day patch?

EA just tweeted we're getting a demo.

https://twitter.com/EASPORTSNBA/stat...06232069316609
the post didn't say we weren't getting a demo. the post points out signs that we may not get a demo. also the communication about a demo came from EA. the issue isn't EA's sports titles, the issue is EA's NBA Live franchise. From the unveiling at E3 with the Kyrie on screen dribbling the hype build up was huge and then from then on it was all bad. NBA live IMO was a beta test for $60, the game didn't present the visuals as promised in the "actual gameplay" sizzle trailer...now the announcement of Live 15 comes and EA admitted the game didn't meet their standards. they earned cool points with owning up to it and started promising a bunch things such as an early demo and gameplay vids...the only thing that came was improvement videos, which are great but let's see all these elements in action.....c'mon EA show us something and give us a demo....im sorry but this entire issue is concerning.

This "must have a demo" standard did not sway those who bought 2k without a demo, nor will it sway those who will buy Live 15.

Those truly on the fence have the option of relying on the side by side comparisons that are bound to be made in the next week.

Live 15 has stuck to their release schedule so far, but there are many who only want the release date moved up to settle their ravenous appetites.

I am a fan of "Christmas" but not a fan of moving the date to appease the few, especially since I bought EA access. That would be a slap in the face to all those who purchased it just to get early access( timed demos) to EA games.

Besides they have never stated what early demo was. 5 days before release IS early.

Not really following you man. First, Live has not stuck to their schedule considering the game was supposed to be out a week ago so they haven't done anything to "appease" anybody at this point. If the game dropped tomorrow they've already passed the point of doing that to appease someone cause we should already be playing the game.

Secondly, that last part is real weak. Early could be 5 days? The statement was about an "earlier than usual demo." Demos tend to come out between a week and two weeks prior to release. If they're planning on dropping a demo five days out or less, that ain't early according to what was being said on their part no matter how technical we want to get about things.

I honestly don't care if the demo releases today (which sure won't), next week or the other; however I believe they do have to release a demo if they want to attract buyers, after all I don't think screenshots and very short clips won't be enough to convince people to buy the game (except the minority who will buy the game because they like Live so much).
