NBA Live 15 News Post

Back in the summer, it was hinted by EA in an interview that a NBA Live 15 demo would come much earlier than fans expected.

Now two weeks from release and we have zero news on any demo release date, only a vague promise one is coming on Twitter. With no date yet announced, there is definitely a reason for concern considering the two week window is when most games typically deliver demos for fans to see what a new title is bringing to the table. At this point, we don't have any concrete information on if a pre-release demo will even happen. With no real goodwill with sports gaming fans, especially after last year's release which was our lowest rated AAA game ever, there's very little reason for anyone to consider the game until someone verifies how it is going to play.

The good news is that EA Access users will get a six hour trial of the game before release, and its likely at least some media outlets will also have the game soon. Thus, its likely we'll start to find out more about this year's NBA Game from EA soon enough. It just would have been nice for users to get a chance to play some 5-on-5 action before release to make their minds up that way. Here's to hoping the recent trends of no pre-release sports game demos is an unfortunate series of events that won't be repeated next season!

Well.....next Tuesday is the lsat day they can release a demo on the PS4 before the game is released. So were really in the "4th quarter" here.

I have absolutely no problem skipping the purchase on release day and wait for a demo after release. Live no longer is blind purchase for me on day one. Research and thinking is being done before I buy. I do collect the series, so I will eventually pick it up (i bought a brand new copy of Live 14 just a month ago for $10).

Either way, no first day buyers urge here. I'm waiting this one out.

At this point I hope they don't release a demo the way some people here are acting.

Sounding like scorned children.

Last I checked they aren't begging anyone to buy the game.

They said they'll release a demo and release it early. If they don't live up to that, by all means bash them because no one forced them to say that.

But the game doesn't get released for another 2 weeks. If a demo drops between now and then, it's gonna be this same nonsense going on in here.

On one side, "LIVE IS BACK! I told y'all!"
On the other side, "This isn't next gen! The other game has X, Y and Z!"

EA doesn't owe anyone anything. They've jerked the community around for years, so why is there this fuss like they once were cool with you and now they're not?

People can preorder a game without seeing it if they want. Why are some of you concerned with how the next man spends his money? All preorders can be cancelled.

EA trolling some of y'all heavy. For a game that's been garbage for half a decade, there sure is buzz about it.

There IS a pre-defined demo date, its for 6hrs total over 5 days prior to release. The sad part is you may have to purchase it. I don't see them releasing this demo outside of EA access (sorry PS4 people) before release, that would be a slap in the face to those who bought it (EA Access), and is not a sound business decision going forward after they released the EA Access model for demos/games.

I'm not saying they won't release a demo outside of EA Access (how would I know?), but rather why should they at this point when the competition has a buggy release? Most of the basketball video game negativity is in the other forum right now, for good reasons.

Why would you care that people are upset about not receiving any news on a demo though? In a thread covering the subject at that?

I would love to have a demo, but in the end it doesn't really matter...at least they've confirmed it. I definitely will be playing it before I follow through on my pre order.

I was under the impression that EA Access allowed XB1 users to play the FULL game for 6 hours over 5 days prior to release. Paying a monthly fee in addition to Xbox Live for a bare bones demo from an older build is a bit much. If that's the case, XB1 owners deserve the apology.

This is what I was under the impression of as well. Full game for 6 hours over the course of that week.
I thought a standard demo would be released to everyone.

It's 6 hours regardless. I still have 4 hours left for NHL 15 and 2 hours for FIFA 15.

I'll tell you what.. if you keep coming here to take shots at posters then leaving only to come back and do it again, you won't have to worry about it much longer.

You've already been warned about co-signing troll posting. That's pretty much it for you too. You keep posting off topic and have no intention of talking about the subject at hand.

I have it pre-ordered but a demo would be nice just to get a feel for the new gameplay mechanics and such. Won't effect me one way or the other, would just be nice to have before launch.

Yeah if you ever see MMChris or Steve post its mostly for the main site and connected to the forums. It's all good though, they'll probably put up a demo article as well.

If it was out of order I can understand the closing but closing because of a few people get mad? Not trolling just saying.

next Tuesday on EA Access. Same as with Madden, 1week before release.

1. Neither one of those games has competition.
2. Both of those games have well established fan bases.

Live suffers from 3 main things: great competition, a lack of quality over the years, and a divided fan base. There are still some die hard Live fans but there is a large portionof basketball fans who don't trust the Live brand and need proof the game is worth a purchase.

Live 15 is a game that could use a demo to persuade people that this iteration of Live is worth a purchase. Besides hardcore Live fans I can't imagine many going out and buying the game without playing first, unless reviews absolutely praise the game.

Because not everyone wants to give EA $60 for a game they haven't played yet. IMO there hasn't been enough shown for this game that tells me it is worth the purchase. The track history of the game has resulted in a brand that can't be trusted. The fact that only a few trailers have been shown, no 5 on 5 gameplay has been shown (except leaked footage that was taken down) , and the demo is no guarantee makes me wonder if EA is lacking confidence in the game.
