NBA 2K15 Introduces FaceScan Technology, Scan Your Face, Bring it into the Game

It looks like 2K Sports will have a face scanning solution similar to EA's Game Face technology. Users will be able to scan their face into the game with their Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.

Users can play NBA 2K15 with a player face that looks just like them. Check out the video at KTVU.

UPDATE: Ronnie has chimed in on Twitter. Looks like we'll see more soon.

I just have 3 points.....

1. Holy Santa Claus ******( you fill in the blanks) lol

2. FINALLY my Kinect camera has a use for me!

3. I just hope us dark skinned brothers don't get shafted by this option like we did with last Gen technology.

Bruh. Greatest idea ever. Seriously. All you would really need is some type of replica face. I would try a picture of Barkely on something round IE basketball/etc and try to scan it. I'm sure we'll be able to figure something out but that's a good idea

Ironically my brother asked me this weekend "why didn't you get the ps4 camera yet?" And my response was "There hasn't been a reason to get on yet. If sports games start using the cameras to scan faces in the game then I'll probably pick one up."

Now my only wish is that other games adopt this feature. I hope one reason WWE 2K15 was delayed is in order to implement this tech. If the next Mass Effect has something similar I will be in love.

Here's another idea: Invite all the WNBA players in your house and scan them. There you go. WNBA2k15.

Now, can you do this on PC?

Does it require two cameras to be used together for depth-sensing of objects, like Kinect or PS camera? If yes, can you do it with two cameras? Or use Kinect for Windows?

Cool feature. Not one that I am going to use, but it is definitely a good thing.
