I have read on other forums that this demo build was before a shooting and goalkeeping change of code had occurred. So the full game will be different.

The A to contain has been changed and so has RB. All they did was expand the radius.

To see this start a game on WC, pause, go to settings and change the CPU acc to 10. Resume play. Now just observe your players behavior when you press RB or A.

With previous years your player would get close enough on his own when you pressed RB to initiate an auto tackle or CPU style toe poke. This go around when you press either defensive button your player keeps his distance. He never gets closer than 6 feet, just dances around an invisible arc that far away from the ball.

I don't hate this change but I think instead of being global, your better defenders should still have the closer contain arc of previous years. The CPU D still have the old closer defending radius which is why we are still seeing legacy toe poke defending from them.

However, you could say you're getting cheated on as it was FIFA that decided that touch was going to be a bad one.
Interesting, let's discuss that a bit. I was always taught to use the inside of the boot in tight spaces because 1. You are bringing the ball closer to you each touch and 2. You are placing your boot between the ball and defender.

Yeah I agree it looks like a bit of a bad touch in the video watching it again. But that is CPU determined. I say that because I decided before the match started to just go extremely slow. To try to never use RT. So after twice slicing up the D and then carelessly having the ball run away after I beat the last defender I recorded the next instance.

Throughout that run I am just gently "micro" nudging the LS left or right. When the last defender turned himself slightly I cut back across. If you look closely you can see I strung together 3 gentle stick moves. 2 were perfect and the 3rd and final move was judged harshly by the CPU and they threw me into that inside of the boot heavy cut animation but then detached the ball from my players foot.

That is the feeling on the stick, it's like control control control control and then no control out of nowhere.

Demo, demo, demo, bl8001, it's just a demo. Ok I get it.

Right, Liverpool playing at Anfield, let's see if the nets really jump up 6 feet when someone rolls the ball into them.

As pissed as I am about NHL 15, I am that excited for Fifa. The demo was great, and love the EPL integration. I did notice a bit of repetition on the commentary, especially regarding the World Cup and WC players, especially Spain flaming out.

I love that goalies are making more saves off their limbs instead of just catching the ball. The ball physics are solid, especially with the rebounds and balls off the post. My favorite thing would be that players are more free flowing, not like they are on the outside of a bubble like they were in Fifa 13 (I skipped 14. Seemed like a roster update for PS3, glitchy for PS4). A definite day one buy for me.

It has been that way for a while now. You can make it better with the assignments and tactics but I hate that we have to do that. It should be done already at least for the bigger teams.

This is pretty neat. Keeper view of impending doom.

And then a normal view of the same goal.

Here we go again Ezio. Every year the same discussion. Obviously EA wants to deliver an arcade game. The sim aspect is automatically taken out as long as there is no midfield play/decent cpu AI build-up and all the teams attack/defend almost the same way.
EA needs also to extend the global sliders and introduce players and position specific sliders.
My opinion is that EA doesn't care about offline and we won't see any improvement in the future.

What a cut.
Is that a skill move maybe?
The CPU definitely has some hyper-agility.

# 409 BL8001 @ 09/14/14 04:54 PM
I just don't know. He goes 90 degrees against his direction with a nice efficient inside of the boot scoop cut and flows right into the new direction.

This is a skill all players should have but not all should be able to do it that cleanly.

The problem is when I do it my player refuses to play it with the inside of his boot, or, if by chance he does, it's a more deliberate animation where my player lumbers through the turn and the CPU just easily recovers to move back in front of my player.

I have held LB, LT, been real smooth on the stick, etc. everything I can think of and nothing does that simple easy move the CPU does repeatedly.

I would love to use this coming across the top of the box, parallel with the top line, and then cut inside with it, setting my player up perfectly to shoot.

Seems ridiculously easy to score goals. My first one with Sturridge- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mt0eJOkUiuc&list=UUGpi1_S1pm9p7RTIhnD--PA

Wow, didn't realize unis get dirty in real time based on how/where your player's body interacts with the pitch. Brilliant detail!

I felt like I needed to share my experience with FIFA 15 b/c I feel that some of us may not be utilizing the 'new' system to its fullest. Basically, I was done with this demo. I played a few times, was let down b/c I felt defense on the 'Human' side of things was completely nerfed and we were left out on the virtual field to fend for ourselves! So I decided to just be done with it and delete it off my ps4 (yeah, I basically raged! LOL!).

But then I did two things ...

One, I was absolutely impressed by the presentation for the Premier League. The chants, the SkyTV presentation elements, the crowd immersion, the graphics ... Speaking of the graphics, one detail (its so freakin' random), but they got David Luiz's hair perfect! Its such a small thing, but something so noticeable. Ok..I digress. LOL! So I decided to take my ps4 and hook it up in my man cave (which is reserved for movie viewing only), but the presentation was so darn good (especially the team specific chants), I had to give it a try. OH....MY....GOODNESS! It was amazing! The immersion was at another level! There is no way around it...EA Sports have gone beyond expectation in presentation, graphics, etc...

Second, I had come across a post in one of the threads that quickly detailed 'Roles' for each individual player on the pitch. I was like...Hold up! This could change everything. So I picked Boca Juniors, adjusted all the individual roles to my liking (by no means am I an expert in tactics, roles, etc.) and set my strategy to 'Possession'... Then headed out on the pitch to face Borussia Dortmund...Another setting I decided to go with was Auto switch at High (I had seen in a previous thread in Fifa 14 that this setting changed the game in regards to defensive positioning). And put it on Legendary (left all passing at Assisted - I'm not the best gamer whatsover, but also heard that Legendary, the AI defense for Hum is much better).

Now let me tell you...The play on the pitch was a work of art! Now...let me preface...I'm not an expert on how gameplay should be, but I watch my fair share of the Premier League every week on NBC. What I saw on the pitch was absolutely night and day compared to when I didn't touch individual roles. There was TONS of midfield play. None of this hit turbo and get down the field like sonic the hedgehog type runs. Alot of passes cut off and intercepted by both sides. Some nice runs, give and go's, through balls, etc.

And here is the kicker for me....Borussia Dortmund Pass Accuracy % was at 75%! Now, I'm know this could be lower like around 65%, BUT I'm good with this...Then I played another match using Boca Juniors against PSG...PSG finished with a Pass Accuracy % of 79% (could be lower, but its all good for now)...Ibra was his usual 'magician-self' and kept me on my toes when they were attacking (which is exactly how it should be). Seeing a good amount of fouls / cards for both sides considering its set at 4 minute halves..

Just wanted to share my experience with everyone b/c I feel once our slider gurus get their hands on this iteration of Fifa, I'm sure we will have an awesome representation of this beautiful sport! Game on fellas! Cheers!

Edit: ALSO...had to share this final caveat. Stay...off...turbo as much as possible and sparingly use the contain button! Trying to play D by pounding the turbo or the contain button will get you in a bad spot! Even when your counter-attacking, do not quickly hit your turbo...Pick your spots!

I don't know exactly what it is, but i treid playing all manual on FIFA 14 and got stomped. Dispossed all the time, only 45% pass completeion. I tried it on the demo, and it felt much better playing manual on FIFA 15. I had a beautiful lob from Sterling over the head of Kompany to Sturridge on a run, and volleyed a lob over a charging Joe Hart.

I think its the ball physics and whatever they changed to player momentum in 15. Still nowhere near comfortable to play all manual.

It actually does work and I noticed a change in behaviour when I fooled around with this.

I played some more last night and have to say the game is beautiful. I decided to play more realistic defense instead of spamming the sprint button to take the ball away. I instead played positonally sound and kept the ball in front of me, unlike previous years the CPU actually gave the ball away on a pass or took a poor quality strike from well out! Another time they tried a lobbed through ball down the middle but the striker ran to his left and the ball fell harmlessly to my keeper, prompting and angry response by the striker towards the midfielder.

I also for the fun of it slid in well late and hard with Henderson on Silva and rightly received a yellow card (could have even been red) and a few pushes from Zabaletta. In the second half I was stading over the ball with Henderson and guess who? Silva, comes flying in with a wreckless challenge and is book as well, the announcer even commented on the fact it was pay back. I was floored, is it next Tuesday yet!?
i was aware of where the roles are in game, ive been messing around with them and i agree they are fantastic. i might have misread the post before, i thought there was a thread on here detailing good ways to use the roles for certain formations and the such. i definitely agree with you as well that playing sound positional defense instead of chasing with sprint like you could last year, is definitely the way to go this year. ive been doing that defensively and have had great success, giving up maybe 0-1 goals a game on WC. now i just want longer halves!!!

I can't wait for longer halves, playing the Manchester Derby and abusing the crap out of Nasri, Silva and Aguerro. I hope they have more Old Trafford chants than the occasional "ROOOOOONEY" or "UNITED UNITED"
yea seriously the atmosphere is great this year! i actually plan to begin my CM with liverpool this year, i really like what theyve done with the team, ill make a few changes but ive been enjoying playing a 4-5-1 with them. although ive been keeping sturridge in the middle, i might have to try swinging him out and see how that works, ive been leaving sterling on the left wing. just want to play around with all of it.
