The first extended gameplay trailer for NBA 2K15 is here, and…Yakkem!

The trailer opens up with Ernie Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal talking in studio (in the game). From there we get an extended montage of in-game action before coming back out to a funny exchange between Johnson and Shaq on set.

What did you spy in the trailer that piqued your interest? Sound off!

I am wondering how only you and someone else mentioned this. I can't tell if the form is off, but he definitely jumps way too high and he releases the ball on the way down... I usually don't complain but this is a big deal. Curry releases his shot on the way up, not even at the peak of his shot.. Yet, judging from the trailer and rewinding his appearance over and over, he releases the ball on the way back down!

The only players who shoot like that in the nba are Iggy and Blake Griffin. Steph curry himself said he can't shoot with himself, he can't get the timing. That's a big issue..

I love the fact that people from 2k are communicating with us, but can someone from 2k please acknowledge this issue? Can we get a response concerning his jumpshot? This is a very big deal to us.. It's his signature shot, imagine if he wore Adidas in game.. It's the same thing.

Being a loyal 2k gamer, I beg, please fix his jumpshot. If he can't come in for a mocap, at lease have your animation people look at videos of him shooting, and adjust.

Ps. I love everything about the trailer except Curry's jumpshot. In fact, it really upset me.. I was enjoying the trailer up until that point.

Y'all spazzing out about Steph Curry, what about the World Champion San Antonio Spurs? We haven't had a decent jumper for Manu or Timmay since NBA 2k7...

Did they fix the ball being swatted away into the 3rd row when you intercept a pass in 2k14 next gen? Or the stupid kick ball cheese?

EDIT: Yeah, looking again for myself, Lillard is fine. Obviously he looks better in Live considering he's their cover guy, but he looks better this year than last year. I don't know why you guys insist on looking at guys making facial expressions and judging the faces to be poor based on that.

2K15 Lillard

VS

2K14 Lillard

Real Lillard

Actually Dame wasn't scanned and it's quite obvious giving how off it looks and the textures. Another dead giveaway is that is the EXACT cyberface from last gen(just like it was for players like Chris Paul, Josh Smith and Corey Brewer). For an example check this out:

That is why I can't wait for PC next gen because that modded cyberface is PERFECT. Dame is one of the hardest players to capture because he just has a distinctive look. It was the same problem they had on last gen with players like Kobe and CP3.

It really isn't that big a deal to me. I'm a detail nut myself, but 90% we won't even see it even in replay mode because 2k's camera lock lol

For Lillard that one is the best :

Exactly my thoughts.

Our main concern is how he is shooting in the trailer. It's definitely different from last year, but he releases the ball on the way back down in that trailer.. When in real life he shoots on the way up. This is one of the most important parts of his deadly jumper. He's also jumping way too high.

I'm sorry for complaining, really.. But after watching all his games these past years ( nba league pass ftw) his jumpshot, and many others, have been stored in my memory.. And when I play my favorite basketball game (which IMO does almost everything right) doesn't have players shooting the way they do, it really breaks the immersion. They look and move real, they got the accessories down to the t, faces and expressions and haircuts.. Even the crowd looks so real, it's a huge jump from last gen. When you put that much attention to detail (cheerleaders--awesome sauce) we would love the same for their signature jump shot forms.

If the trailer has an old jumpshot form, cool.. But we have no way of knowing this since the trailer did come after Ronnie's tweet

Shots are always being improved at any given time. Steph's is damn near perfect now.

Thanks for the reply! Just to be clear are you talking about the one in the trailer being almost perfect?

WHY NOT JUST HAVE THE BOY DRIVE UP AND DO A SHORT CAPTURE SESSION. Even Barnes and Bazemore were in for bench and all-star dunk animations, even though the all-star event was a complete disaster for Barnes.

If it's Steph not making time, DO IT. I beg of you. Meanwhile, get your face captured again.

Cool. Is it hitchless and the fastest release in the game at .4 seconds? I'd rather Curry just get properly captured--come on, you captured a whole dance team (Warrior Girls?)-- but there is a ton of reference out there breaking down his shot if he's being hand tweaked, including a sports science feature and one clip with all 272 of his threes from last year.

It's not Curry's shot if it doesn't have the quick one-motion hitchless release, the four finger down extreme gooseneck wrist, forearm perpendicular to the ground for much of the shot, a turn, a sway that passes through a straight up body position on release, but with a variety of leg landings.

His new shot is pretty nice. Ignore what you see in the trailer. All shots can either be released early or late, and in the trailer, whoever captured it released really late. To get his timing right, you have to release on the way up and it's pretty fast. Much better than last year's J.

I talked to Steph about coming in for mocap and he definitely wants to. Just has to find the time. He's a busy guy.

A shot that's unique is Terrance jones . He has a slow shot irl but in 2k it's not correct. Has this been addresses ?

I totaly agree with this, Manu shot in 2k has been horrible and when you shoot it you aren't confident it will drop.

I think D.Williams, Joe Johnson, KD, Reggie Jackson, Danny Green, Tim Duncan, Manu and Dirk Nowitzki shots need to be adjusted. Some of these guys shot too slow or their shooting motion wasn't accurate to the player. Jimmy Butler and Igoudala had a cheese form by the way. They hit 3s like they Ray Allen or something

Everyone lets give Beluba a round of applause. These guys are really trying and you can see the effort. I know Curry is an NBA star so him and the 2k devs want to perfect his shooting motion but still lets give credit when credit is due. Curry is not on the cover but they have reached out to try and correct things. We appreciate the hard work.

Real life comparison to Gamescom 2K15 doesn't look too off to me. Sometimes he shoots more a set shot with little lift sometimes he gets more lift. Don't know what you mean by the bold. Manu didn't actually shoot the ball well until the playoffs this season and didn't really shoot the ball well in the 2012-2013 season or playoffs. He is a nice playmaker though and can step up to hit some big shots. It will be interesting to see how they rate him taking that all into account
