The first extended gameplay trailer for NBA 2K15 is here, and…Yakkem!

The trailer opens up with Ernie Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal talking in studio (in the game). From there we get an extended montage of in-game action before coming back out to a funny exchange between Johnson and Shaq on set.

What did you spy in the trailer that piqued your interest? Sound off!

Finally got around to watching this trailer...

YAKKEM.

Looks good, real good. Never pictured the RHCP and 2k looking and sounding so good together.

He was never scanned to begin with

Manu didn't actually shoot the ball well until the playoffs this season and didn't really shoot the ball well in the 2012-2013 season or playoffs. He is a nice playmaker though and can step up to hit some big shots. It will be interesting to see how they rate him taking that all into account

Not to be that guy, but Manu actually shot well from the field last season - nearly 47% overall - while his three point shooting was "low" (35%) for the second consecutive season. His problem is that as he aged he's had to rely on scoring from the perimeter more often which has hurt his overall percentage/efficiency.

Back to the game, Ginobili, Duncan, Diaw, Green, Mills and Leonard ' s sig shot animations have been wildly inaccurate and has made it difficult to use the base roster. Hoping that 2K shows the Spurs some love and addresses the issue. Especially Duncan, who had a near perfect re - creation in 2K7 and has looked bad every since. *Rant Over*

THIS MIGHT BE A REACH

But I would love to see an animation of how he cradles the ball, almost like a running back when he drives to the hole. He does this in real life a lot, it would be great to see it in 2k.
I'd love Derrick Rose to be looked over and have his animations "fixed" too, especially adding that cradle move you described and his signature one hop floater, but it'll be tough to edit him with a new shot or lay-up package when he's been out of commission for nearly two years.

I'm so happy that he looked good and "normal" during yesterday's FIBA competition, though. Want to see that Rose of old (or even much better) killing the league, again.

I was looking for an answer on what is missing from this build graphics-wise, and don't think it's been answered (though I haven't gone through each and every page here).

Spoiler

He was talking about actual shooting as in perimeter shots and Manu's shot in the game not overall shooting FG%. He said he didn't feel like Manu shots would go in. So I told him Manu didn't actually shoot well until the playoffs but I am talking strictly perimeter shots. So basically even if you had Manu's shot down he probably shouldn't have been making jumpers as well as one would think. Manu is still pretty good when he gets to the rim though. Manu shot 35% on jumpers out of the paint not including three point shots. 39% 16-~22 ft and 24% 10-15ft that is not good no matter how you slice it. So what I said applies but he appears to be good at corner threes.

That's a Sony issue, not 2K.
Besides Sony had an update where I Think they fixed this earlier in the year.

Not to nitpick too much, but they need to change it where teams have 13 active players rather than 12. Hopefully that's in this game.

It was the same problem for Xbox.

That's why Im assuming its a 2K issue.

It is a 2k issue. I have several games that capture the audio as well.

I was under the impression 2K did it due to licensing issues with the music in the game.

And I prefer 2-man animations you can't get out of to 2-man non animations that you can't get out of like they had in 2K12 or 13, where it just slid you out of the way with no contact animations whatsoever, because supposedly 2-man animations were of the devil. It was a worse product that looked terrible and played no better.

All this hate for 2-man animations is way overblown. It's sort of wishing for pie-in-the sky with an extremely difficult and challenging problem that hasn't been adequately solved realtime in all of computer science yet. We'll get more dynamic animations when it's ready-- and even then, people will still complain about the lack of interactivity, because hey, you do lose control when you jump into the air and collide with another. And for what it's worth, we're already seening 2K put some collision physics where limbs meet because they no longer clip into each other-- but it's not something anyone mentions.

As long as the results are tuned correctly so that contact dunks aren't dominating and results play out realistically (more missed dunks and fouls than not), I'm fine with 2-man anims.
Actually, this is one of my biggest pet peaves; It's gotten a little better, but clipping and warping of the ball/limbs are still very evident in the game, especially around the rim. I even saw some in this trailer.

In any case, I don't think anyone is saying they would rather have non-animations that you can't get out of. We want the ability to not get stuck in any animation that we should be able to realistically alter.

In all game modes? On every intro i've seen in real gameplays at expos...nothing about that. Introducing logos, some players/court angles and no more...
