EA Access News Post

The official EA Access twitter account today confirmed that the platform will only support six hours of Madden NFL 15 gameplay. Considering EA Sports Season Ticket offers Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users access to the game for three full days, this news comes as a disappointment for Xbox One fans.

Without a Madden NFL 15 demo, EA Access and EA Sports Season Ticket is the only way consumers can play the game early. Unfortunately, EA Access is exclusive to the Xbox One, which means PlayStation 4 gamers are left out in the cold on any early access period.

While EA Access certainly has its benefits with The Vault, the sports gamer looked at the deal as a no-brainer, since it offered early access to games. However, with time limits set to just six hours of gameplay, that could deter many of them.

While EA Sports has confirmed demos for both NHL 15 and FIFA 15, we would like to hear from the community concerning the six hour gameplay limit for Madden NFL 15 on EA Access.

Sound off!

Highly dissapointed hope the outcry reaches ea and they back track

I bought the access mainly to get madden early and even took the Friday off that's where it hurts because I can pretty much use up my 6 hours in a synch

But getting the vault games were an awesome addition that I didn't realize so that kind of takes the salt out of my mouth...

When they were announcing the service I heard so many things coming from each that had me sold and it feels like they back tracked on a few things

They have an awesome maybe ground breaking idea they came out with the access that only a few game companies big enough that can even think about doing something of this nature

I like but don't love ea and they release good games (I don't like NBA live tho)

They rushed the service I think because a lot of their games are coming out soon and they didn't think things out clearly and launch this service

I'm not saying let's protest but if we speak up I'm sure they would change it to full access for madden at least

I am hoping they will back track and release a new number by the 21st...we can only hope!

Few questions

What time does it start on the 21st?
Does the timer only run in gameplay? Like if im in CFM switching my depth chart, looking at stats, practicing does the timer still countdown or is it specifically in game action?

I am so very disappointed in EA and it's decision to only allow 6 hours of play time.

I want judge people who don't wait EA out in the future, but this is my last ride in any future services, including this one.

Madden is a game, but my money ain't no joke.

Funny that people are so mad. Didn't they come out and say each game would have a time limit? I was never expecting to have 5 full days of madden. The value of ea access to me is in the vault. Playing these games a little early is a nice bonus.

As someone who is disappointed the PS4 didn't buy into the EA Early Access, i'm disappointed in EA. 6 hours of playing time? Most of us, when we play, end up playing about an hour. So I could play 6 games? Awful.

What I cannot fathom is why they used 6hrs for the time limit? Less time to probe for exploits and bugs? On the positive side, in increased timer of say 24 -72 hrs would at the least diffuse this very temper regarding the extremely tiight cap on play time which would later generate a positive buzz among the comminity.

It is one of those scenarios where you wish the comminoty hopeful's got what they hoped for opposed to souring this group with a rotten time expiration offer.

Instead of presenting the package in a manner that revels in building and keeping your clientele for EA Access: it appears more like a theif who made a counterfeit offer and ran away with your onvestment - never to bother asking for it again.

Again, I just cannot fathom Why they used 6hrs - why not liberate us w the same 72hrs that the EA Sports Season Ticket titles offer us?

I cannpt fathom why they would spoil things on such manner - it seems like it does a negative to their business in the long term.

If they do net $80 - 160k or even $160 - 240k combined between Season Ticket Sales and EA Access Sales in the first 3months - I do not know if it will be worth it in respect to public image damage.

Perhaps they will modify the package in the future but that is all presupposition; the writih on the wall that I read says the comminity got shafted.

No free demo - fine; just paid early access offers - fine. Why divide the access time between the two (Sports) offers so severly? I am strictly speaking to early access via Season Ticket and EA Access to Sports titles - not the Vault and separate genres.

There is a big difference between 6 and 72 in amy scope of comparisons. If there were anything to hide or be insecure about: why even offer full access?

This last question is what pegs me the most re why I cannot fathom they are justified in limiting the full access to 6hrs of access.

I was planning on buying it for a 5 day trial, but a 6 hour trial is absurd.

I told EA Access that this move lost my business. Contact EA Access on twitter to express your displeasure.

Weak sauce, EA. Weak sauce. Purely based off of the old ea season ticket, this is weak. I understand for rpg's or story driven games that u could solve in a few days, but I just don't get it for a sports game. I would have to believe that an overwhelming % of gamers will HAVE to play madden at least during the reg season. So, they're not just going to play it for 5 days and go through a whole season or maybe 2, and then say, 'well, that's it for this year. No more football gaming for me.' This company truly has received worse and worse support from fans over the years, and it's all things like this. Instead of surprising everyone and having madden fans, NFL fans, etc shouting, 'Awesome!! I can play madden early over the weekend b4 it comes out. I think I'll get my CFM going and try out skills trainer.' Instead it's 'well. I wonder how I should allot my hours. Maybe, just 1 hour for skills trainer to see how that works. Then, get into some CFM.' Legitimately, this is a spot where they really could've won some fans back, but instead look more and more like a greedy empire. This company's PR dept needs some advice.

Well I held off purchasing EA Access because I assumed something like this would be offered. Saved myself five bucks in the process.

As some others have stated, I am not interested in the "old" games in the vault. If I was interested in those games I would have already bought them and am not interested in forking over 30 bones a year to keep them on my hard drive.

Very disappointed in EA. No Sale....

It's a little disappointing but 6 hours is a long time. It's a good appetizer befrore the full game is released in just a week.

God forbid we went and spent some time with our friends and family

Even if you can get a game in, in 30 mins...That's still just 12 games played....

And, I really, really wonder if FIFA access will be limited? That will be interesting to me if a game that many people truly love and has often times really created as much realism as they can and has pushed the envelope with their gaming and would want to put their product out there early and let everyone play it as much as they like because they know those people will also purchase it and aren't worried about a time limit. Or, does EA totally control that and they tell FIFA how it's going to be? I'm curious, anyways.

This will take down EA's image...How close they are to the edge, all you need is a push.

Speechless

It says gameplay hours so can i just browse the MUT menus without the 6 hours going by?

I just got my Xbox1 last week and still don't own any games. Getting FIFA, Madden, and BF4 was huge for me and an unbelievable deal at the price. I would of been perfectly happy paying $5/month for exactly what we are getting right now. If EA told me a week ago that I would get to play Madden 15 early for 6 hours on top of that, I would of considered it an awesome extra bonus.

Announcing it like this is just messed up IMO. It has turned me from a 110% happy customer into someone who almost feels robbed myself. Honestly with this and the EASHL stuff going on right now, I don't know what to think about this company anymore. I didn't think it was possible for them to shock me anymore, but its really a new low.

I noticed they put out something saying access time will vary by game. I wonder if less popular games will receive more time.

As a former Season Ticket sub I was blindsided by this today. I don't understand how they came up with 6 hours and thinking we would all accept because we got Peggle 2 for free!

Um, that's a lot of games...

The value seems to come from the vault access rather than getting games early.

I had hoped it was basically Season Ticket for next gen but obviously I was wrong
