LOL did you guys see those HUT menus? they're completely revamped and look a million times better now. Meanwhile, connected franchise pretty much looks exactly the same as last year with that ugly font they use on everything.

the focus is on HUT aka post-purchase $$$ which is pathetic. Kinda seems like Madden and NHL have gone down the exact same road of focusing on Ultimate Team

Whatever animations they used for "signature throws" I don't see it.

I have seen a good amount of the videos linked to this post. I just want to point out how much I think the line play has improved just from a visual standpoint. Now, they still aren't at an amazing rate, but I have seen fewer breakdowns in the oline which plagued this game in years past and I have seen better oline assignments and adjustments from the videos. Having time in the pocket is essential for this game to prove a huge jump in gameplay improvement from how I feel. I felt rushed in past Madden games to make to quick of a decision on the majority of plays. Plenty of sacks and interceptions because of pocket time has lead me to not enjoy the game for what it is... a game... And we can only control so much and let the animations fall into place. I'm not big on changing sliders. I like the game on All-Pro settings, but I have found out even on these settings the animations are always in favor of the CPU (I am not a online franchise player either or for that much online gamer unless it's with friends and family). I did like that I for the limited video that is available I did not see many super jumping LB's. I'd like to say that I have been playing madden since it's inception (I'm a young 34 lol) and just based on the videos alone I have seen a vast improvement in gameplay physics, now that just has to be integrated with proper football IQ from the opponent whether it be cpu or human. I like what I see, I do love presentation in sports games but at this point in Madden I'm looking for overall gameplay quality. I know it's a video game, I hope we don't expect human quality physics, but just something more believable and just a short tweaks away from arcade play. The line play in my opinion will make a huge difference, and wr/db interactions as well. I also want to point out... I'd like to see players much lore excited if their teammate makes a huge play and also better and proper crowd reactions for the situation. Still the only football game being released annually so I hope we find something to look forward to and enjoy the video game aspect of Madden as much as possible, because nothing will ever replicate actual live human sports interactions in any sports game. Make the best of it. I know I will make the best of it on day 1. Enjoy fellas.

I'll say the same thing to you that I said to another person here. If you can have fun and enjoy the game for what it is, then by all means do so. But I hate to inform you but the line play is NOT improved what so ever. Here's the issue. In the NFL each team uses specific philosophies PER TEAM. Meaning, they use specific coordinators with their own specific terminology. Within these philosophies each team utilizes specific play schemes and designs. Within the design of said plays, you have specific blocking schemes PER TEAM. Which means, EACH team uses a different blocking scheme with specific personnel to function within that scheme. Madden however, DOES NOT use this system, instead we get a generic hybrid disfunctional blocking system that is the EXACT same across the board for every team in the game. Example: I watched a running play where the center and left guard double teamed one defensive lineman while the tackle and guard on the opposite side double teamed on another dlineman during a simple toss play to the outside. Here's the problem With these nonsensical double teams that made absolutely no sense within the design of the play, it allowed both middle linebackers to essentially come free to blow up the play before it even got going. So basically, the way the blocking took place, the fullback was responsible for 3 defensive players. 2 linebackers and a safety dropping down to pick up the run. So, Madden would have you believe this is proper blocking for a toss play when in fact said double teams would work better if zone blocking was being utilized to create cutback lanes for the running back. Even then, the play still has to follow a specific designed scheme. Problem is, there is no such thing as zone blocking or man blocking in Madden. It is hybrid nonsense that serves to give the illusion that the defense made some great play when in actuality it was poor offensive execution by way of illogical design. So it is what it is. Blocking in the NFL is more than just double teaming. There are techniques and schemes that need to be respected along with actual FUNCTIONAL assignments within a play's overall design for a desired outcome. This does not occur in Madden. I would prefer to see football outcomes based on football logic. Defense can be represented more realistically while still containing the play or even blowing up said play based on REAL X's and O's techniques and reads. But not on that hybrid crap they claim as blocking. Just my opinion. But again, if you can tolerate it then by all means, enjoy the game man.

I love that they added new QB walk up animations, but the timing is all wrong. The animation ends too short and goes into that generic jog before the qb gets under center. Just kills the immersion of the animation.

It's never going to be perfect or to where would like it to be in terms of team authenticity playbook wise. I understand the concept of blocking, I also mentioned it looked from a visual standpoint to be much better than prior Madden installments. Obviously if it's a three man rush and the oline is double teaming two d lineman you will have a couple LB's and the Safety free'd up to rush the back on a toss... So it also boils down to play calling as well. One will offset the other. That's why it's called strategy. Now if the run block scheme is set up so that the oline does exactly the same thing on each and every play than yea I agree to some stand point that it's hybrid... But please tell me how many of the teams in the NFL are willing to give away their signature play books, block schemes or any plays for that matter for any authenticity for a Madden video game. I know you are craving sim football... I am as well... But realistically asking for proper authentic season used playbooks and schemes for each team is a far fetched dream. Sorry to bust your bubble, but we have to settle for the across the board block schemes that Madden presents, unless we can create our own defensive and blocking schemes according to our knowledge. Believe me, I hate the line play in Madden, that along with the jumping LB's has always been a game killer for me, but it is what it is... It's a video game striving to be as authentic as it possibly can be. Madden is a long way from being perfect, but until we actually sit and play the game ourselves we have to base the game of video gameplay. I would love in a perfect world authentic team playbooks, but c'mon... What team is going to give away their playbook?!?! Offensive or defensive?!? It's generic and standard, classic offensive and defensive schemes used for years in Madden games. Bottom line. The line play hopefully will improve where there are less break downs and an allowance for time in the pocket. I'll be happy knowing... It's just a video game, it's the only football game... And we as gamers have to make the best of it as much as we disapprove with development.

For starters, who asked for complete authentic playbooks?? Are you thick? The NFL would be STUPID to do that. Never said that once. So, in your estimation, the only way to have actual O-line schemes or some basic semblance of a team's tendencies along with proper technique and fundamentals is to have the actual playbooks??? Another thing, What the hell are you talking about??? 3 man rush??? Who said it was that and even if it were, thats even worse. What you just described fits in a passing situation. Do you not understand run blocking?? Zone vs man blocking?? Basic stuff. Bottomline is the game will never be what the sim community wants because there are more ****** gamers than people with a true football knowledge base. So if I were EA, I would NEVER make the game sim. The money is found with the ****** crowd. Thanks for making that even clearer than it already was.
