You are entitled to your opinion. Mine is that they look nothing alike. Not in terms of textures. Not in terms of lighting. Not in terms of AO. Not in terms of fidelity.

This isn't my first rodeo, and I don't mean with just Madden. It was obvious that there was a visible downgrade from the M25 E3 trailer to the subsequent YouTube vids released. People cried compression. How did that turn out? There was an obvious downgrade in visuals from Dark Souls 2 shown at shows and in YouTube vids just before release. People cried compression. How did that turn out? There was an obvious downgrade in visuals of Watch Dogs from the E3 footage to subsequently released trailers before launch. The Lead Designer Marin cried compression... How did that turn out?

I know the difference between compression of internet vids and bait and switch actual downgrades. I absolutely know what I am looking at here.

However, EA, in my opinion took a huge step in the right direction with M25 NG. It was not what they showed in their trailers, but it was a game that had improved blocking, better running, better graphics, and better lighting than any previous Madden, including M25 last-gen. Looking at these videos and screenshots, this looks way better than what Madden put out last year, and that seems good to me. Stop saying that this is a "disappointment" before you even see more than a one minute trailer that features barely any gameplay at all.
This is what ppl do, when we get trailers we critic them. The point of the trailer to build hype and impress the community. The graphics and muscle definition look nice. The screen shots and facial scans indeed look superb and on par with other NG games, kudos to EA for that. Yet the still shots are only half the battle. In that small 10 second clip of a "new" game you see the same tackle animation that has been in the game for years and game-play mechanics that have held this game back and have lead to outside runs being overly dominant. Of course EA is holding some major aces right now, Redesigned Man/Zone coverage logic will go a long long way in upgrading the game and we haven't seen the new defensive audibles that may be able to counter some of these things. But soley based on that trailer alone I just wasn't overly impressed.

I don't think the bolded should be glossed over or is deserving of any "buts" after it.

Judging by the animations and AI logic it is safe to say that in a decade EA hasn't been able to top 2K5. Part of me is stunned by and proud of 2K for making such a masterpiece, but the majority of my feeling is just sadness that we are stuck with the same old ugly, unrealistic mediocrity.

If the presentation is still mostly cutscene driven, it's already a fail.

I think it looks great. I am going to hold judgment on animations until I see the game in motion at E3. I think the helmet color looks fantastic. A true metallic gold look on Kap.

I could care less about clear colors, equipment, etc. Give me quality AI.

Grass? Really?! First, the Seahawks play on field turf. Secondly what do you expect? It's a screen shot. People focus on the most odd elements.

But either way the Safety or OLB wasthe farthest outside defender and at the snap on the play that defender has already comprised his assignment.

Maybe this is one isolated event, maybe it is fixed, but since this has been one of my biggest gripes for a long time, it was the first thing I looked for.
I was thinking the same thing. #21 lines up over the TE. #38 engages the TE, coming from where #21 was lined up. But #21 spins off the block of someone that's not either of those TEs (85 or 86).

Either way, everyone laid into their assigned blocker as they always have. And EA's defensive speil makes no mention of gap/force/fill/contain assignments.

Guaranteed that every person commenting here buys Madden this year. Even those that are overly critical.

How hard would it be to update the gloves/shoes? Seems like pretty low hanging fruit to me...

Honestly, and this is coming from someone who hasn't bought a Madden game in seven years cause of their low quality, I feel like what I saw was pretty good. I couldn't completely tell from the video, but for the first time in so long I feel like I can have a sliver of optimism towards Madden this year. Can't judge off this one video, got to wait for details.

Dramatic camera angles again? What happened to the awesome TV camera angles from a few years back?

E3 hasn't even happened yet...

My guess, they are probably reintroducing those camera angles back into Madden 15.

I'm not going to make any judgement until I see more at E3. I am curious about the dynamic pre-game and halftime shows.

After watching the video I didn't come away overly impressed. Regardless of tattoo-gate yesterday, the picture sparked interest with its graphical detail.

This video didn't really show anything new off or had anything that got me (and it seems most everyone else on here) that excited. I know they are holding off showing too much before E3 but they should of showed something off that would keep the buzz going into next week conference

I actually liked last year's game. It wasn't perfect but there was a lot of good things in it. For me it's always the small things such as details, accessories, gameplay, etc. I remember growing up as a kid how EA would always knock it out of the park with Madden and you'd wonder what they'd come out with the following year to make the game better.
The best thing I or any of us can do that's a huge fan of the NFL is not hype it up too much. Hope for the best but expect the worse. There's a chance for innovation to be brought back like it used to be. Especially since it's next-gen, I guess we'll see..

This is from VGChartz...Take it how you would like.

Madden 13 Total sales(All systems)- 5.95 Million

Madden 25 Total sales(All systems)- 4.62 Million

As you can see you're probably not correct.

Underwhelming but i'm not surprised. I expected this and honestly, i don't know why anyone else is surprised.
