Sorry for being so dense. So if I hold R1 and push RS up I would then rotate from 12-3 or 12-9? Or am I picking a direction, releasing and then rotating? I tried holding R1 and pushing RS in various directions. I didnt see anything initiate. Not sure what im doing wrong.

For the life of me i cant grasp this submission thing, still have no clue what holding r1 and pushing rs in a direction does. when i hold r1 and rotate 9-12 or 3-12 seems to be only thing that initiates a submission. how i choose what submission i have no clue. but my patience has run out.

snap an app on the side. Or if you are on ps4 broadcast with the chat window enabled.

I don't think it matters, as long as you rotate the stick a quarter circle in either direction after pressing one of left/right/up/down. I say "I don't think" because I don't have the game in front of me at the moment and I'm going off memory, and the controls are kind of second nature at this point. But I'm pretty sure I'm right. Note that not all positions have a submission for a given direction either.

Each position on the ground has different submissions available, so not all directions will do something for all positions.

Full guard (on the bottom) I believe has all four directions so it's a good place to practice. The easiest way to practice is to play a two player game with no one controlling the other fighter. Take your opponent down and explore all the positions and submissions available.

Hey SwedishTouch, let me help you out here..

First of all, check out this link to see the list of all submissions in the game, and how to do them - http://www.easports.com/ufc/news-upd...ks-submissions

Then go to Tutorial > Lesson 16 Attempting Submissions. You'll start out as Jones in the Guard (Submissive) position. If you look at the list above, it says that you can do 4 different types of submissions from this position - guillotine, armbar, omoplata, triangle. Now, to attempt a submission, first hold R1 then push the RS in the direction corresponding the submission you want to attempt - right for guillotine, left for armbar, down for omoplata, up for triangle. If you just hold the RS in the direction you choose (do not rotate yet), you will actually see Jones prepare to initiate the submission. There are different animations for the different submissions. Go ahead, try holding the RS in each of the 4 directions and see what Jones is doing. From there, rotate the RS a quarter circle in either direction to initiate the submission and start the mini-game. Of course in a live match you don't have to hold on to the RS in the direction for too long - just push and rotate the RS in one motion.

Take note that not all positions will have 4 submissions available to them. Some will have 2, some will only have 1. From half-guard submissive you only have twister and kimura, done by pushing the RS to the left or right respectively, then rotate. If you push up (or down) then rotate, nothing will happen.

Check out the list of submissions, try them out. Hope this helps!

Yep, if you have another controller available, much better to practice in a live match setting to explore all the different submissions from each position.

I tried playing the demo a few times and it was too overwhelming. I just don't think I would ever be able to learn the controls. I'll just stick to watching the UFC on tv.

I cant believe I havent asked this question:

Are there scorecards in the retail version if the fight goes to decision? Or does Buffer read the scorecards before announcing the decision?

Are we able to have title matches in exhibition mode as say cpu v cpu?

Will the title switch if the holder loses?

Are we able to switch titles to whoever we want?

Thanks

Yes to the first one.

I'm not sure about the last two so the Dev can answer that.

Well had a buddy come to the house over the weekend and we got in some 2 player head to head, it was INCREDIBLE!!!

I'm now soooo excited for the retail and so is he. He was kind of like me and was on fence judging by the AI, but once two skilled guys fought who knew the controls it turned into a chess match. We fought I would say around 20 or 30 fights and only had 4 or 5 finishes, all the others went all three rounds to decision. Utilizing the parries really forces fighters to slow down or they will get countered for big damage and KOs.

Once the fights hit the ground, it featured a great strategy feel to it. Fighters spamming transitions quickly burn their stamina out which allowed for posturing up with less fear of a transition getting through. Plus the added fear of a easy submission which happened a couple times in our fights.

All in all we both talked about it all weekend how badass realistic the fights felt against one another compared to the AI. Trying to go back and play the demo AI is tough after you have played against a live opponent and seen the realistic nature of it. So if the retail features several of the tunings talked about and more stamina decrease, this will be insane come retail release!

June 17th can't get here fast enough!! I'm ready to rock the Tuf house!
