MLB 14 The Show News Post

The Opening Day version of the MLB 14 The Show Operation Sports Full Minors is ready for release.

As in past years... A LOT of work has gone into creating these rosters by many, many contributors.

I would like to thank each and every one of them IMMENSELY!
Without them all, this task would unlikely come to fruition.
It's a labor of love for all of these guys and I would like to ask anyone that comments in this thread to please be civil (unless you are heaping on praise...then go full bore! )

I'm sure there will be disagreements on player choice, potential and any number of ratings. That's fine and all will be taken into account, but don't degrade the thread with posts that are unbecoming.

I for the most part stay with the editors spirit of how they see their players. There were changes for balance. For the most part, I left potentials unless I felt they were too far out of bounds.

There are roughly 1500 user created players in this set.
All minor league players are edited to be a real player, with all faces done.

The set is mirroring Opening Day as best as possible in lineups and rotations at all levels. There were some cases where a total AAA or AA could not be met, as prospects took precedence.

I don't want to mention any editors in particular, but RidinDwnKingsley must receive a big mention here. The guy is just tremendous in his efforts to get this set out. Big kudos here.
There were many... Visit the chart
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...rive_web#gid=0 to see everyone involved. A lot of guys went above and beyond...

Also note that Willard76, a major contributor is going to take the O.D. set and edit a ton of things (including SCEA players, which are all "stock" on this set) for his release of the Hybrid set (here is the thread, I encourage you to check it out.)

I hope I didn't leave anything out.....

Leroux and Billings both have service time. I already PM'd Knight about this yesterday. He said he's look into it.

Oops I meant to say B potential lol. If you think he should be a C then its an easy fix, no?

High leverage relievers should be in the 80's, just looking over each team's roster really quickly that's what I've noticed.

From what I understood, I thought they import the SCEA player and redo their face from OSFM.

Hey Mike,
Are you doing these v2 updates on the PS4 now that you have that game, or are you still making the roster updates on the PS3? I know in theory it is suppose to be the same because of the vault, I was just wondering. Thanks man.

Will this roster work on MLB 10 on the ps3? Haven't got a new version of the game.

Thanks,
Ryan

Why is the Sony roster so bad??? The Sony roster is missing players that were in the roster for a couple of years, like George Springer of the Astros. How do you miss that guy? He's been on the team for years.

I waited for this roster for over a month. I'm never doing that again. I'm going back to the roster I was using before. If Sony doesn't start shipping the product with a decent roster I'm going to stop buying the game.

Wahhhhh! Stop crying. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Is this downloadable from the PS4 or do I have to download the file and put it on a USB stick?

Knight said last night that the corrections roster should be ready by Wednesday night. So its up to you, but for me I'm gonna wait one more day. There is plenty to do in the meantime for one more night between postseason mode, a practice RTTS, or just exhibition. Seems to me that these rosters are always worth the wait, especially if its only one more night.

I'm confused. Are you complaining about Sony's default MLB roster or the work of all the guys on here in relation to the minors? As far as I know, the collaboration of everyone on here isn't touching anyone's ratings at the MLB level. They are just changing potential, names, and likelihood of the minor league guys. So if you are having a relief pitcher issue it sounds like something from Sony and not the OSFM rosters. Am I wrong?

Some of the players for the Astros have been downgraded 10 points overall. They went from backups in the majors to AA players.

But it's all over the league. There are few teams in the roster with a complete starting pitching rotation. And most of the teams only have 2 or 3 usable RPs. The rest have been severely gimped.

I appreciate the work you guys did, but there is a serious problem with these rosters. I am going back to the roster I downloaded a week ago by Chrisiu10. I found it a lot more balanced than this one.
I'll apologize in advance for feeding something exceedingly troll-like, but you do realize that the OSFM rosters don't touch SCEA players, right? Only minor league players were created and were imported over the fake players.

I will agree SCEA rosters are not great, but if you have ever played NBA2k then you will come to appreciate SCEA rosters a little more, lol. My main grip with SCEA players over the years is some of the younger players and then the players thruout the season they can get lazy and just throw thise rating together at times with not a lot of thought put into those guys, especially later in the season, along with batting stance and pitching motions. I dont think its actually anyone from SCEA though, I think its a company that is hired to do it, but maybe Im wrong on that.

I will have to double check the OSFM rosters cause I find it hard to believe they messed with any SCEA players ratings, cause that is something I know Knight has always said absolutely dont do over the years with this OD V1. Not calling you a liar so pleased dont take it that way, definitely makes sure its author in the vault is Knight on here, cause you will see idiot kids try to copy this roster and call it their own.

The only thing I noticed was that the stubble looks too full on the PS4. I know that when you guys made the prospects on PS3 that the stubble looked fine (since it's looked the same for years now), but just a heads up that "stubble" looks too full on the PS4 version.

Thanks as always for the hard work guys. Y'all are the best.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Knight noted he was aware of this issue and was going back to fix it for v2.

Agree that the rosters are terrific!

Yea you did. And you couldn't have been more rude about it. You clearly don't comprehend the effort put in by the guys that make these rosters. I don't think anyone will miss your posts around here.

I know this has probably already been answered but Im not reading every page to see lol. Does this roster work for PS4?

I went to look and I looked at Collin Mchugh, and he has indeed changed like you said. I think what happened is that it was actually SCEA who changed his ratings in a update rather than a editor doing it. If you take a look at the original out of box roster it has Mchugh at the same rating as the OSFM roster, but if you load up the latest SCEA roster he has been changed to a 73. Looks like H/9,Hr/9 and K's were changed by SCEA. I assume that all th eplayers you have noticed is that of SCEA doings and not a OSFM roster editor. So I can see your frustration there.
