The Golf Club Early Access Available Now on Steam For $29.99 - Post Your Impressions

The PC version of The Golf Club is available now on steam for $29.99, during their early access promotion. On April 24th, the game will be $34.99. Still no word on official release dates for Xbox One or PS4.

Canadian video game developer, HB Studios, today announced its next generation golf simulation, The Golf Club, is now available on Steam Early Access for PC. The Golf Club features pre-designed courses as well as a Course Creator that allows players to build brand new courses and share them online within seconds. The Golf Club Early Access is available for $29.99, discounted from $34.99 for 7 days. Scheduled to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One soon, The Golf Club will redefine the genre across both console and PC platforms. �With a heritage deeply rooted in building some of the most fun, intuitive and critically successful sport franchises on the EA Sports label, HB Studios are now excited to roll out the first phase of The Golf Club,� said Jeremy Wellard, President of HB Studios. �With integrated social features, a massive online multiplayer mode and a Course Creator that will provide players with endless challenges, avid golfers and gamers can now access The Golf Club on Steam Early Access.�

The Golf Club is designed for 1 - 4 players locally, (from single player to 4-player sofa play), or in an asynchronous online multiplayer mode that allows players to compete against �live balls� and �ghost balls� from other players. Early Access of The Golf Club comes complete with three modes: stroke play, match play and 4-ball, and no loading times between holes.

The Course Creator allows players to build an unlimited number of golf courses which can then be shared and played with friends online. New courses can be generated in a matter of seconds by selecting a theme (Rural, Alpine or Autumn), terrain features, number of holes and difficulty. Players can then enjoy a full suite of editing tools from changing the time of day to placing hazards and objects to create the ultimate golf challenge. Players can also discover new courses built by friends and the community by filtering through rank and difficulty, as well as interact with new The Golf Club members through the Message Center.

Additional social features enable players to challenge friends and attempt to beat high scores and best their own highest recorded rounds. Add to this a myriad of statistic tracking tools, notifications, challenges and much more, and you have a golf club truly worth joining. The Golf Club was developed with the Unity games development platform.

Playing y'all's ghost balls now. Dear god I am sorry for the 11th pin location. I think we all had 3+ putts. I had 5! Lol

I knew people would try and carry that sand. I would've had a tip for that but didn't have time.

You can only carry with heavy wind otherwise you must lay up on it haha. That's the cool thing about the hole. You can reach in 2 IF the wind is right in your favor. If not, you'll never carry it and get on in two. Makes each round unique to me.

EDIT::

This is one thing I was afraid of about course rankings.. my course has 3 plays with a rating of 5.7/10 which there was a random guy that played it besides cruise and sky that probably gave it a 1 because he was terrible, harder courses are going to be ranked low because people get mad at them.

And if it makes you feel better guys, cruise you shot better than me on my own course! I shot a 90 (18 over)

Yikes. I'll try your course again later sky - it's not fair for me to judge the difficulty when I can't hit a straight shot to save my life. My controller just decided to pull almost every shot I took. Including putts.

Liked the design, I can say that much. Where Red's course is tough mostly due to the greens, yours has some pretty interesting course layout all throughout. I got a nice look at the rabbit near the 13th green while I was busy 10-putting the green (game capped me at triple par). Enjoyed your use of the water on several holes.

Just uploaded my course. Vancouver National Golf Club, username ALEXtheGREAT. I kind of paid homage to Amen Corner with holes 11-13. Not exact replica's by any means but took the general ideas and layout of each hole and altered them a bit.

How do you search for courses? Wouldn't mind playing the courses you guys have created.

OOTP, TEW, this and hopefully Pro Wrestling X gives me high hopes for sports games on the platform. Customization is king and you can tell they are real labours of love not some 7,000 employee factory like Ubisoft or EA.

Looks like I will be joining you gents in couple days. Payday is right around the corner this Friday, so I'm going to scoop it up this weekend! I have not touched my PS4 in like a month now lol. I've been completely hooked back on PC games! Give me The Show and a football title on PC, I would then sell my PS4.

Sweet glad you liked it. The guys at HB forums seem to hate the greens and have rated me poorly for such.

The idea is instead of a hard layout, the greens make you really think about the approach and what you'll have left to putt for. Sometimes going righ at the pin is a bad idea since some feature huge downhill putts if you get behind the flag too much.

My newest course Old Lakes Resort should be out maybe this weekend! It's a heck of a lot easier and features tons of lakes!

So, since the Steam version is going to be $34.99 tomorrow, I wonder if that is a clue that the console version is going to be around $35 as well? It will really suck if they charge PS4/XB1 folks $59.99 but Steam gets it for $35. Finances are tight these day so I don't pay $60 for games anymore; I use GameFly for most or just wait until the price drops.

Developers have said they are still working on that. The plan is similar to around that but I wouldn't be surprised to see $39.99-49.99 on consoles.

All I did was use a USB cord. Didn't have to install anything extra..
