I don't want to argue with anybody and don't want to use other games to justify my expectations .. Last gen to me the features and gameplay of any game wasn't anything special to me it was jus about graphics .. The show hasn't changed the way it plays since 2009 which is ok the gameplay does what its supposed too jus want diff ways the player reacts to diff things that happen on the field the player movements haven't changed enuff for me .. I love the Show have bought every year and this development team along with naughty dog are the best I've seen .. I jus want diff experience with the PS4 ..

100% agree. This game doesn't look new to me.

What I think people don't get is how "new" can you actually get it? I mean baseball is baseball, you can't change rules and gameplay just for the sake of change. I understand wanting refinements, but new? If it aint broke, don't fix it.

With new player models and the way the new player models would move would make for new and improved gameplay plus dust off the staleness of the game .

I'm hoping the reason Marlon Byrd's body looks nothing like him is because he was given the fat body type rather than buff. Will someone with SCEA's ear please let them know to correct this.

I think people might have too high of expectations of the new-gen system while we are still in the first year cycle while still doing three separate consoles at the same time.

Very true, also, commentary would really make it new! I'll say this, from what I heard in the little video, commentary seems to have been improved.

The lighting and the stadiums being redone will help make the game look diff jus would have thought they would have redone player models as well moving to another system ..

High expectations is an understatement, it's more like unrealistic expectations at best.

I getcha. I wasn't trying to call you out specifically, just the comments about gameplay in general needing to be changed. Baseball gameplay, to me, is about the number of animations you can get into the game for variety's sake. Fielding 50 ground balls before you see the same animation twice feels so much better than every 10. Like others have said, it's baseball so it can't change too much.

One thing I learned early in my professional career is to be a specific as possible when giving feedback. Being too general doesn't add value. Saying gameplay needs to be different doesn't mean anything. For example, saying baserunning needs to be improved because runners are making turns at 90 degree angles, which isn't humanly possible, means something. I think that is what causes a lot of the disagreements on message boards. General statements sound like hating, specific statements sound like you want to improve things. That's my life lesson (and the aforementioned advice isn't direct towards you OU, just making a general statement to try to improve dialogue).

Yup, The lighting is what's helping the game look good. I like a revamped stadiums which needed to be done in the first place. No excuse for keeping the same animations though.

From the few tidbits of commentary I heard so far does sound better .. I jus wish they would bring back Vin Scully or sign Bob Costas to do commentary ..

Or how about John Sterling or Indians radio man Tom Hamallton, both have really awesome baseball voices, and get very excited.

People on these boards are probably tired of hearing me bringing up Costas as a replacement, but I'm 100% with you there. The commentary has been stale for 2-3 years now...

Pertaining to commentary, I think a big part of changing it has to do with the engine that is utilized on PS3. I'm sure they don't want to change the engine for that system. With the PS4, my hope is SCEA looks at overhauling the entire engine and flow. Watching a broadcast, you get a much more conversational feel rather than reactionary with a 2 second delay to each play. Easier said than done, but it would go a long way in polishing the presentation.

LMAO at some of the ridiculous comments in this thread.

Worst part is...they are baiting....some are biting.

Same old, same old. ...and I mean here....cause it's certainly not the game.

My favorite...the gameplay hasn't changed since '09.

Y...OKAY!

Whoops...I just nibbled.

Later.

100% agree love listening to Bob Costas call a game love Vin Scully the most though but would be afraid I'd fall asleep listening to his voice as I've fell asleep many nights in my chair watching late night Dodgers game lol

I personally I like John Miller

I know many of you haven't tried the PS3 version yet, but the dynamic camera has added a whole new feel to the gameplay (without changing the gameplay much at all).

I really thought I would hate dynamic, because I love the broadcast view of HR an stuff, but man was I wrong. It's fantastic and hopefully makes it over to the PS4.
