The Golf Club News Post

OK - I have just been informed that there will be an email sent over in the next few hours that will provide access to the Golf Club closed beta today. Myself and any others who were lucky enough to gain access will provide what information we can in this thread. Asking questions is not a problem, but understand we may not be able to answer them all. I will post in here as soon as I have the game installed and have spent spent some time with it.

We just ask that you be patient - Thanks!

It would be like me buying the ps4 version and getting another version free. Wouldn't make sense for them to do that.
Yea it didn't think it should be free but maybe a bundle for $99 for both would be nice..

Eh.. since it is cross platform play, I see no reason to pick anything over PC if you can run it.

Even the course designer will be able to use keyboard and mouse!!

Well hauling my laptop into my room and connecting it up versus just putting a disc in the ps4 is my reason for wanting both (assuming it's good)..

According to the tweet, they were only referring to playing rounds with the mouse and keyboard.

I posted on the HB Studios forum asking for a definitive statement from the developers if the mouse and keyboard will be included for use in the course creator. Fingers crossed.

I think you got it backwards.

On their actual forums. A tweet was shown that it will use keyboard mouse for designer. Why in the world would you use the keyboard for gameplay? Wouldn't get that at all.

Here's the tweet:

"Mouse and Keyboard will work. I just played a round with the mouse actually. We're tuning it at the moment"

When he said "played a round" I took it to mean round of golf. If he'd said played around with the mouse, I would take it that he could have possibly been talking about the creator only.

Then again, we also have confirmation for keyboard and mouse control in the course creator at another point:

This was from another Twitter exchange:

@thegolfclubgame can you confirm that mouse and keyboard can be used for the course creator?

After watching the Masters. I am hyped for this release. I hope it comes out before UFC, because I actually want to put some time into it before UFC consumes my gaming life.

I'm nervously awaiting the arrival of the early access version today. I say nervously because I personally thought the Build 4 beta from a little over a week ago was no where near ready for release. I would hate to see a premature release, even though it's deemed "early access" tarnish the public perception of the game henceforth.

HB Studios has been working hard over the last week and has acknowledged the beta tester's feedback so I hope they've polished up some of the rough edges. I never once got a "live" play match to work, as it always appeared the other golfer I was trying to play with was stuck on the same hole. I never saw more than a marker showing him in one spot on the course.

Finally, I'm hoping they've done some optimization over the last week. I have to play this game in low detail at 1600 x 900 on my slightly better than average PC. It really takes a hit going from medium to low detail... the water looks horrid in low detail, to be honest, but looks really good in medium. If I can't at least play the game in medium detail on my PC at 1366 x 768, I will be really disappointed. Really though, this just to tide me over until the XBox One version is released

Since it is available on Steam now, we'll close the thread. Please discuss here.
