Yeah, I love a lot of what I'm seeing. I didn't know some of these animations existed. I saw Lebron's Sig dunk, I'm trying to find which clip it was in. I wish I could manually replay some of the replay stuff I've been able to do so far. I didn't think I'd spend much time in Practice, but it's a lot of fun just seeing some of the more "rare" moves/animations.

There are actually a ton of dunk and layup animations that you can trigger.

ill say this about that

i recently played rising star and gave my star attribute boosts where i thought it would fix animations for him and guess what?

IT DID!

if there was roster editing and sliders after this patch you'd guys would be getting a sick roster and slider set from me as it is this games arcade at best

I asked DAY ONE if they would bring sliders and roster editing back in and i really thought they were thinking of doing so but they are STUCK ON SYNERGY and want the game to play without you interfering which i am not keen on and think its a bad move for us guys who like to tinker

Right now I'm seeing guys like haws from the sixes ROCKETING to make rebounds like he's doing a dunk from the free throw line

Don't get me wrong the games actually GREAT for the casual gamer just not the seasoned roster editor/ slider maker in us all

Does anyone know if this update effects the demo at all? I'd like to check out the improvements without purchasing the game. Also can anyone post some before and after pics that show off some of the visual improvements?

Believe it or not, these videos are all on Pro. I went from All-Star last night, down to Pro, and it was playing a heck of a game, so I kept it on there.

Play calling is set to auto-motion, no other adjustments at all. It's just an all around great experience right now. The GSW vs IND game I was playing they had 33 points at the end of the first, 5-9 3PT FG... awesome flow to the game. I could not give Steph or Klay ANY daylight at all.

They had 14 out of their 33 points in the paint, so I was pretty happy with that. And 4 of those came at the end of the quarter, they went quick to the hoop on a 2 for 1, and Steph scored on both attempts.

"ALL-NEW SHOOTAROUND MODE"

Wasn't that around in Live 06, but was in a airplane hangar? I could have swore it was.

Maybe it is "ALL-NEW" because it is in an arena. lol

Not around the game anymore...anyone see the arena atmosphere option pop back up?

I just seen there is an update on the One. I didn't read this thread yet because I want stuff to be a surprise. Haven't played the game in a few days. I'll be back to read impressions and give my own. I'm psyched. Hopefully when I get back I wont read a bunch of posts saying "Poor guy, he has no idea he's better off selling apples on the freeway"

# 75 DreamAgain @ 02/10/14 07:39 PM
Wasn't really impressed. Game is still broken.

# 76 alexthegreat @ 02/10/14 07:46 PM
Update is 540 mb on the One

I can't believe we're stuck with this low camera angle for the shoot around mode

# 79 P-Dub @ 02/10/14 07:58 PM
I got the passback bug after the update in rising star mode. I was able to counter it by pressing the set-screen button before or after pressing pass. That kills any lead passes on cuts.

Overall I don't see huge changes. Shootaround is just the demo shown to journalists at trade shows, and learning the moves from that camera view to executing them during a gameplay view doesn't translate well. They should have added one on one post play, freethrows and text jumpshot feedback in this mode to accompany the icon flash.

Player response is a little bit better, but still delayed for the most part. Learning how and when your player pivots when changing directions makes the control difficult. CPU can still waltz past full court defenders like the defender took a bad angle or something, and ends up behind the ballhandler in the backcourt. I'm going to go off and say I don't really believe Sean O'Brien when he said(in a youtube interview) it could be multiple factors from the way animations are motion captured to how the animators put them in the game as that sounds like an excuse. The response issues have been in the game since NBA Live 08 and they need to be ironed out. Compare the responsiveness of dribbling while moving to just moving and you will see something wrong there. I'm glad they are finally acknowledging it and working on it, though.

Looks like they improved the speed of jumping for block shots by slowing them down along with the angles defenders take to contest shots.

The visuals look a bit better and the animations smoother, but possibly at a cost of some responsiveness, even though it was improved in some areas. I think the players skin tones are just too flat with one color, and that leads to the plastic/clay look. Some improved texture with more color variation and better shaders should improve that area.

Visuals do look less "plastic", but besides that, I really don't see much difference in how they used to be.

I think others mentioned it previously, but directional pressing seems way off now.

The responsiveness is improved, though. Doesn't feel like I'm fighting the controller anymore on the fast break or on defense.
