NBA 2K14 My Career Mode Makes and Misses

Of all the PlayStation 4 sports games, NBA 2K14 is the one I have played the most. I have almost exclusively played the new-look My Career mode, where you create an avatar and guide him through the cliché ascent from unknown street baller to NBA champion.

While the premise itself is stale, the mode's presentation is fresh, plus its scope is larger than any previous sports gaming story mode. You'd have to go all the way back to Midway's retired NBA Ballers and Blitz: The League series to find a sports game that put anywhere near as much work into crafting storylines and choreographing cutscenes.

What're you worried about what I'm doing? I am done with this game, in the process of selling it with my ps4. But before that, I'm gonna play it. My career is the only thing I'm playing and the **** I'm seeing is ridiculous.

So, stop worrying about what I'm playing and what I'm not and enjoy the game for yourself

Agree with what you're saying completely bro, but lol it is amusing and disappointing at the same time reading this, how many such as yourself went from being very hyped for NG before release to now about to sell it. I guess it's indicative of 2k's misleading marketing.

I could care less if i bashed the game as much as you have im pretty sure i would have been banned

I assume you never played a WWE game because that's what 2k did with NG's my career yes it sucks that it forces you to have off nights or miss 2 free throws but it's not the end of the world

If the criticism of a game is done in a respectful manner with logic, reason, and merit, I do not believe it should lead to a ban.

Further, if WWE has become a sound comparison for NBA 2K14, then I believe that speaks volumes.

Bashing the game and pointing out flaws are two entirely different thing. With the current state the game is in, it is pathetic.

I'm not coming on here saying things like, "F you 2K this game sux because I said so lolz" no, everything I'm pointing out, so is everyone else.

Like Melbourne said, I was so excited for this game, more excited than I've been for any game. The way they released this game in it's current state is pathetic and unacceptable, myself and others have legit reasons for not liking what we were presented with.

I mean, I'll be the first to admit I bought a ps4 for this game, based off of 2Ks marketing, big mistake. So yeah I'm a bit peeved at what they gave us.

Well people were asking for a storyline and got it i personally enjoy it but it could have been done better im not expecting something perfect on a first next gen game

MyCareer is really the only playable thing in this game until the next patch drops can't believe you actually bought a 400-500 dollar system for one game and now you're selling it..

I am really worried about the direction VC is taking this game. The gameplay is absolutely amazing but I have already run out of reasons to play it. I have always hated MyCareer mode, and the new gen experience is worse than ever, and I have already gotten tired of the MyGM mode thanks to horrible trade and free agent logic. They are obviously catering to the casual gamer with this release, and I hope us hardcore sim heads have not been completely forgotten. Just put 30 team control back in the GM mode and I'm set.

I got the system for 2k mostly but BF4 was bundled with it the reason i do not regret anything at all is because MLB 14 the show will be out in a couple of months and they never let you down!

Trust me even if you're not a baseball guy keep the system and check out the game when it's out rent it at least you will be amazed!

Not being able to play My GM without an Internet connection made me send my copy back defective. I don't plan to buy again next year unless I verify I'm not always-and-forever dependent on 2K's servers being up to verify VC to play my copy of the game offline.

I agree with you completely I bought the xbox one for this game and since I got it it's been giving me headaches it's a love hate thing with this game you don't wanna abandon it but when you start to see it for what it is you get frustrated and don't wanna play it anymore.

You get 9+ rebounds on HOF, bully for you. I am not fortunate enough to have that experience game in and game out. Trust me homey, it's not skill. The rebound mechanics are broken on my system, period. If you like how the game plays then continue to play it. You don't have to disparage my opinion because yours differs. Well since you say you don't have much experience with the game what difficulty are you on and how many mins are you playing?

Your coach not making subs once you enter into the game regardless of fatigue or foul trouble is a mode killing miss.

So i played all 82 games of the season, and swept every series and won the finals. Before the season ended with maybe 15 games left my friend/agent said I would get a huge endorsement from KIA if i scored over my average in 10 straight games. Not only did I do that but I went above and beyond that just to make sure. AND guess what happend.....NOTHING!!!!! I win the finals and get finals MVP and my agent never says anything. Then I play Jackson Ellis on the rooftop and beat him and we became friends and still no interaction with my agent. Its like 2k just forgot about logic when they wrote this crap. Im kinda pissed that I spent so much time with this mode. I love it but I wish simming was an option. I dont want to play 98 ****ING GAMES just to finish the damn season and really nothing happen. I feel really let down by this mode. I hope that make some much needed adjustments to this.

They could have at least implement the euroteams in mycareer. Maybe play exhibition games against them or something. Goes for mygm as well.
