WTF said a while ago that it is best used for when you want to bump the offensive player. Other than that, forget it.

Still into my 1st week with the game...ive been playing knicks-nets and have graduated from being slaughtered by the cpu, to being competitive and getting closer to winning one

I figured out what I was doing wrong defensively. I was playing way too tight on the ball. Deron Williams was just slaying me every game. I've been doing a much better job of keeping players out of the paint, and forcing more mid and long 2's .

This game really forces me to play tactically, and I haven't been used to having to do that to survive. There's a lot of good strategic elements to this game. When there is a matchup that I cannot guard, I am forced to bring doubles to force a bad shoot or to make the player give up the ball. I find myself using most of the coaching settings based on who is on the floor.

What I don't like is that the CPU in the 4th quarter has this ability to flip a switch and turn into the '95-'96 Chicago Bulls. I was in a tight 39-38 game 2 minutes into the 4th, and all of a sudden KG, Paul Pierce, and Joe Johnson turned into Jordan, Pippen and Rodman on the defensive end and I could not do anything. They just shut down everything, ripped off a 10-0 run and with 5 min. quarters..the game was over. These games really need to cut that crap out.

Also, what happened to the playbooks?? I LOVED NBA Live 10's playbooks. They were so deep and you could set them virtually any way you wanted. These PB's are really shallow by comparison, you cant customize them at all, and the X button passing when you are trying to execute a set can be nutty.

Overall, 5 days into having this system,this game has gotten the most run. It is oddly addictive. I just keep on playing it and don't even realize its happening until I have cranked out 4-5 games in row

Im really looking forward to when I can record and post vids on here..the one drawback of the PS4 is that it is a royal pain to set it up to record and do the youtube thing with..I have to get a damn hdmi splitter to do what I could with no issue on ps3? Psh

Good impressions, Sporty. I'm very intrigued by this game and might grab it if I bite the bullet and pick up a PS4 (almost purchased one last night online).

Played the Heat with OKC on superstar. Forget about it, they were absolutely ridiculous, any space what's so ever and they drain the shot. Lebron had 15 in the first quarter. Thankfully, I got extra hot with Durant but double teams and other adjustments did nothing to stop LJ. Had me down ten and I fought back to down three but the Heat were just too much.

Like to thank many of you for your honest impressions of this game. Ultimately, the detailed review of the game in a PM from WTF sealed the deal.

I had been playing Madden almost exclusively even with Live in the mix. Started playing Live a lot over the past week and I am hooked. I really enjoy this game now and find it very challenging. My only stress comes from picking a team to start a dynasty with...

I think I've said this before, but I really love the signature dribbles. Its so satisfying to beat someone with them, even if it does happen a bit too often (not as bad as spins though).
TBH it makes me miss the signature sizeups in Live 10 and 2K, but being able to choose which move of the 4 you can choose is working out real nice.

There are actually 6 signature dribble moves for you to use. There is down-diagonal-left and down-diagonal-right. Adds even more to the table when trying to get past someone.

Why does the demo of LIVE14 on the X1 play better then the retail on PS4.

It was playing quicker and guys did less standing around and watching, th cou players that is.

They honestly do seem different, I had live on PS4 before XB1...

It seems to play a lot better in all aspects.

I thought I remember hearing that EA/Live really supported the X1 version. Maybe this is what they were referring too.

I just got the game and it disconnects everytime on update 1/4 at 52%. Anyone know if EA servers are down or is there a workaround?

I did notice that they seem to be on different "counts"...don't know if that makes a difference or what...

One thing I do know if we have folks saying they are only seeing post spin moves 1-2 times a game, where I can't go 5 minutes without seeing it 3-4 times. We have guys saying they have never seen poor late game logic by the CPU. Some are saying the CPU calls time outs all game during their games. List goes on. Some of this stuff isn't even cross system.

Who knows? Maybe EA left us a surprise on each disc, lol

I think that's the situation for most of us, but there was a poster a page or two back that wasn't experiencing that...

I remember that. Haven't seen him post after that so I'm not sure what system he was on.
