NBA 2K14 News Post

As if you couldn't imagine NBA 2K14 adding anything else cool, today 2K Sports released a trailer that reveals they have 600 real player and coach interviews which will be used in the game.

The feature, called 2K Real Voices, will feature real halftime and post-game interviews. Most likely a few players per team are represented with multiple possible interviews per player, it's a cool feature for sure that'll help the immersion factor within the game.

Sounds crazy cool, what do you all think?

It makes a lot of sense now to think that in a couple of years NBA 2K will have NFL 2K5's presentation and beyond. It's just a matter of time.

Great job, 2K, great job!

This is an important step for next-gen game audio. If they can/are allowed to rip real audio for use ingame, could they not theoretically also do so for rim sounds, swish sounds, crowd noise, arena sound effects, player yells/chatter, commentary, etc?

Imagine the possibilities over the next years..

It's about time.

I have been begging for this for years.

Bravo 2K. Great execution. The bar has been raised - again.

I hope so. Audio has kind of been the forgotten frontier in sports games. Very few games have done it well. Crowd noise is especially annoying when a big shot or dunk happens and the crowd doesn't react appropriately. Kills the moment.

So this feature is a good sign that the 2K team recognizes that audio can play a big part in building realistic atmosphere.

Agree audio plays a real big part into making the user feel apart of the experience ... 2K has been stepping up the last couple of years for audio I hope it's expanded even more with next-gen. All those little 'OOOHHS' 'ARHHHHH' like the battle in the paint for rebounds and when someone gets dunked on or crossed really adds to the game, A lot more than some people actually think tbh

I really don't think people are grasping how grand this is. Over 600 in game interviews. 600. You play about, 100 games a year if you make the playoffs. That's around 6 seasons worth of interviews with coaches and players that will be original. The likelihood that you'll hear anything repeat in those games is so unlikely, it looks like we'll have a fresh set of audio each time.

Just insane.

Real audio from broadcasts, as it should always be.

Remember that one time, like a month ago, when everyone was in agreement that next gen was going to be a port of old gen with better graphics? I'm glad we're past that now. It was rough to watch.

LOL. It would be hilarious if they all just said the same cliches.

- "We have to go out there and give it 110 percent.

- "We're taking it one game at a time."

- "We just have to stay focused.

- "There’s no " I " in TEAM."

- "Defense wins championships."

It's just incredible what you guys added. Quick question, are accessories/kicks handled the same way on next gen as it was in cure them?
