NBA 2K14 News Post

Franchise modes are a passion for me; they are my go-to mode in any sports game. I truly enjoy the challenge in taking a struggling team and rebuilding them into one of the best teams in the league. It’s a very cerebral experience, one that requires a certain level of shrewdness. For years, our award winning Association mode has put you through the trials and tribulations of building a team that can co-exist while trying to win titles. We had some pretty defining features during the last generation in The Association, but for this generation, it’s a whole new game.

Wait for 2k15 if you ask me. Get NBA live 14 at this rate.

I hope this answer your question coolade.

Anyhow, I cannot wait to get this game. This is what I was really looking forward to a Franchise mode. Being the GM who can really make an impact in your team or bust a team with your mistakes.

This will keep me busy for awhile plus MyCareer, hopefully this will be an improvement from CG.

what about the slides?? are customizable? can we turn off the trad cpu/cpu ?
i wanto to play association with real roster i hate to see absurd trade cpu/cpu.
"you will have an opportunity to purchase your own NBA franchise and run it however you see fit"
????no please.... this is too much arcade!!!

The fact that people are complaining about this being too deep blows my mind. It really shows the people that didn't want a sim association experience. Laugh worthy.

Yeah lol I find it extremely laughable. The more deep, and more similair it becomes to great simulation sports games like Football Manager, the better. Although I think it is just online and MyCareer guys coming in and saying that. I doubt any old Association players were.

Just imagine how great MyGM could become with deep, FM like simulation coupled with outstanding gameplay and graphics. Hopefully in a few years that's what it is.

As much as people cry about, " I want to have a sim experience" they really don't"...they basically want to run down the court shoot 3's all game, just have a franchise mode that allows them to make trades to assemble a dream team, then complain that 2K's franchise mode is stale.

That's really the way it's looking. For about 4-5 years now, we've been asking 2K to give us exactly this, and people are complaining it's too realistic and deep?

Give me a break, we finally have an NBA world we can be immersed in, instead of just boxes and stats. People don't want realism, they want boring.

If this works as intended, MAn oh Man!!! an in depth text style sim integrated into a console sports sim game.
2k this is lovely....

There were plenty of people complaining that it's too deep in this thread. It it doesn't pertain to you, ignore it.

If you've read this entire thread like Gosen, myself and others have you realize a lot of people say they want sim but they real don't. And that's cool, to each his own, but I think that's where Gosen's sentiment is coming from.

It all sounds very impressive and truly next-gen. But without 30 team control the front-office AI will make or break this mode. And, honestly, I'm of the belief that there will always be at least some complaints about this because everyone has their own ideas on how the AI should act.

Going to be fun to watch the impressions rolling in the next few weeks. Though I'm not a big NBA fan I could definitely see myself picking this up when I get a PS4 come spring.

Leftos, some of the stuff sounds great, but hopefully you guys will allow us to turn some of the stuff in MyGM off in future iterations. It's always good to have options and it stops fans of the old Association mode from being alienated. Cause from the way things sound from reading all the info that is out on MyGM as of now, it sounds like we will be doing more (or even too much) behind-the-scenes/off-court stuff than actually playing the game of basketball. A lot seem to be okay with that, but some of us aren't. Not sure why The Association couldn't have stuck around as a mode with improvements to trading/signing A.I. logic, improved player rotations, improved draft classes, etc. and still had MyGM as a seperate mode for those who want a basketball version of Football Manager 2013. No disrespect, but MyGM sounds too deep and there are some of us that don't want to dabble in EVERY aspect of playing with a franchise and 2K guys saying the Season Mode is for us old Association fans is pretty much a slap to the face. Not sure how anyone can think that a Season Mode that only goes one year equates to the Association mode from the current-gen and previous installments.

Thanks for coming around and interacting with the community. It's appreciated.

That's a question I would like to have answered as well, but nobody on the official side of things has even mentioned it. I was hoping the MyGM Diary would have addressed it, but nope. At this point, I guess we will have to rely on the OS community to tell us once the PS4 releases.

I don't understand, if you only want to play the games and want none of the managing aspect (although I don't know why you wouldn't want that), aren't you able to just set the the tasks to be automated by the CPU as has been the case for Association in previous years? I'm pretty sure they have already stated that is possible.

Melbournelad, like I stated, some of the stuff sounds cool and I have no problem experimenting with some of the new aspects. But sometimes after a hard day of work, last thing I want to do is be in conversation trees and worrying about fans crying over my drinks being 50 cents more than the Bobcats prices lol. If it has been stated that we can have some of the tasks automated or turned off, I've missed it. And I've been reading pretty much every thread discussing MyGM thoroughly. I just think it would be nice to have the option(s). Not saying that I don't want to try MyGM mode out.

I really dont understand these people who says the game s**ks and evrything. 2k is giving us a great mode that is deeper than ever so we can have alot of fun and challenge while playing and they're not happy always complaining if you're not happy stick with current gen or try to create the game yourself! 2k is trying something new something for the future I think it would have been boring if ng 2k was a port of cg 2k but it isnt and I know there's alot of guys out here who can't wait to play on launch day including myself. All I got to say thx 2k for bringing thr nba game to another level.

No worries, I understand where you're coming from, I am just positive that I saw it stated in one of these threads by 2k that tasks can be set to CPU automated for those that want them to be.

Only a week to go, so we will find out. I got to have something to play on my PS4 besides Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, so NBA 2K14 will be probably get purchased lol.

Thanks for not being a d*ck like some of the other people here on OS are being just cause dudes have a different opinion or want to play a game differently than they do.

If you don't have time, absolutely nothing wrong with that. But you know you can delegate everything you don't want to do to your assistant GM? So you can just focus on playing the games and managing your team.

I fail to see how playing MyCareer, Season mode and The Park will somehow be less time consuming than playing MyGM.
