Yeah, cynical skepticism in the face of something impressive is not how I roll.
And what's wrong with being amused? It's a game. Isn't the whole point to be entertained? Yeah, it's lowest common denominator, but that isn't a bad thing.
Unfortunately I only play H2H online...Hopefully the new console can remedy some of the legacy issues haunting online play
In that case, I feel your pain. There seems to be some philosophical approach regarding online that makes 2K hesitant to make online a sim experience and eliminate cheese completely. They take steps year to year but aren't as vigilant about plugging holes once the game is released (and new holes are created).
Yea 2k14 is easily the best looking game so far on next gen , Jesus I can't wait till I see WWE 2k15 on PS4 . If this is what 2k has in mind for the models that's hold 10 players on the court what will two to 6 wrestlers look ? Not to mention this game isn't even using the systems full potential , this game could look a lot better in 2 years .
We are extremely fortunate that (speaking for myself) our favorite game and one that lends itself to long hours of play through the year also happens to be one of the best if not best looking games for Next-Gen, and it's a launch title no less.
I've been asking myself what the 2K art and graphics team are going to be working on the next year. I mean most of the players are practically spot on, and they just finished 500-1000 of these. After they update the 60 draftees for 2014, then what?
I'd like for them to go back to existing players and polish them-- Kobe, backups like Fisher (if he's still playing) and Toney Douglas. Maybe do all the assistant coaches and training staff if they haven't already. Hah.
What's crazy is that I spotted real-looking non-players on the Houston bench, and wondered if they were real life assistants and trainers. I was so used to 2K only modelling people realistically if they were important or "somebody", and all non-important people looking like generic low-poly cartoon PS2 people.
Then it struck me that almost EVERYONE looks like a real person, including the camera man! Everybody is a somebody!
That just makes me even madder that they can't make a football game. See that emotion and realistic with cloth physics and sweet animation. AAAARRRG - while EA and Madden are taking to us about GRASS- GRASS people GRASS - smdh
There's a silver lining to this. It means 2K probably had more resources devoted completely to NBA the whole time.
It certainly showed in this game.

So did I. All day. On my phone, on my work pc, on my home pc.
Then I watched the non-YouTube version on my TV. I wanted to get a sense of what it would be like to play it on a big screen.
I should have been jaded by then, but was somehow even more impressed.
To ALL the people who said this was just a cgi trailer, and said this can't be actual gameplay. Think again!
I have been asked a couple times. Yes the game actually looks like that while playing. Obviously on broadcast your further away.

Also, does anyone know if the next-gen versions of the game will be just a port of the current gen? I was just curious b/c I didn't know. Did 2K release any news on any new features or fixes they made to next gen?

Woah, slow down there. The NBA series is being made by 2K's best...The WWE games are still being made by Yukes. So unless Take-Two gets rid of Yukes, I wouldn't expect much out of next-gen wrestling games.

Actually a lot of it was built by Virtual Concepts. The old Yukes guys were there for help.
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this but "In the Air Tonight" is the song most closely identified with the Miami Vice TV show. I know it is in the track list for 2k14, but I can't imagine it was an accident to include that in the track list or in the biggest trailer release for the game featuring the King of South Beach.
Did anybody notice the leg tattoos on lebron... maybe other players will have them too.... not expecting the Malcolm X tattoo on D Rose because I think he just recently got it but this is promising

I haven't seen this confirmed anywhere. Link it if you can because I don't think that's right. I understand they are only helping a little bit this year(because it was already far into development) but where has it been said that Yukes will be gone(or taking a backseat) to 2K going forward?!

2k only influence this year was that they published it and helped on the presentation and it shows by the entrances and audio .
And why wouldn't it be right ? If a company goes bankrupt and you buy it you have total control over that company . Same goes for video game rights . wwe 14 was already in production so it made now since for 2k to scrap it completely and fall behind schedule and lose money for them and the wwe . So they kept some of the team to keep working on the game while having there lil input to help. Going forward it's 2k decision to do what they please , don't you think they want to add a MyCareer to the WWE franchise like they did for baseball and basketball ? Don't you think it's odd the player models don't look 2k 's but Smackdown like aka Yukes ?
I understand all of that. I edited it into my post while you were typing that response. My point is(and still remains) that 2K hasn't said a word about letting Yukes go after WWE2K14 is done and shipped. Will they have an influence on things going forward? Sure. But as long as Yukes stays on as the main developer I don't think you'll being seeing these NBA player models and graphics in the game. I don't care who owns Yukes, if 2K don't clean house on the development side of things, it won't matter, as you need actual talent to do what the NBA2K team does.
We're getting off topic here, so I'll leave it at that.
