NBA Live 14 News Post

EA Sports has released their NBA Live 14 gameplay trailer, which features a first look at their game in action. We figured it would be short, let us know what you think.

In the coming weeks expect to hear a lot more about NBA Live 14, some of the nuggets we are expecting to learn about are the 50+ signature styles in the game, Connected Experiences, and more game modes. It appears as if the Live 14 hype train has finally left the station and it's expected we'll see a lot more on this game in the next several weeks.

We've also captured some screenshots from the video. Obviously, they will look better in 1080p, these were captured in 720p.

How can any of you say this without actually FEELING it for yourselves?

Oh I know it's not realistic I was making a point. I don't think sports should be locked down to one company ala madden

Of course nba 09 was bad lol but they had an idea that grew later on with 2k to be honest. Tendencies came from inside the playcalling we enjoy in 2k was in live 10 so on and so forth... and no that's not too say it never would've been done

Oh so this is actual gameplay footage. It's gonna be really hard controlling with the viewpoint skipping all over the place and you not really seeing the action, only a camera in the face of the player you are controlling.

I think the trailer looked great. Graphics are good. I have seen some comparisons to how current gen looked stating that this isn't much of an improvement.

Perhaps we should consider that the game will play more advanced? I know this remains to be seen, but if they only took the graphics so far (I personally think it looked great), then maybe a lot more is happening under the cover so to speak and it will play a LOT smarter etc.

Side note, I think its awesome to see MSG in a game, licensed. DYING for some rim/net physics (as this is a potential deal breaker for me, silly I know)......

Thought the vid was really good, seeing a press cam vid with presentation, commentary etc HAS to be next..... and then we will really know where things stand....

He is the consumer so of course he would want more options. The only person sounding silly is you.

Impressions

First off i hope we can edit height

Irving is WAY to tall and it looks like the calves issue hasnt been addressed

Fluidity isnt there in the animations

Those are the obvious things sticking out.

With what Konami was able to do with PES2014 im surprised EA couldnt as well with nba live nba live IS looking like fifa BUT the problem is that fifa looked good UNTIL PES2014 came along focused to bring some of the most believable animations ive seen

Gonna be tough this next gen

Once again EA Sports is always 1 or 2 generations behind when it comes to making sports game. Hahaha!! they can't even beat 2k current gen BB game.
Wow you again?? Your opinion doesn't even count here 2kfan, this forum has gone next gen & your rambling about 2K9 smh

I love the fact that it's competition back and I used to love live back in the day. I think 2k it's a great game but it's got its short falls. This trailer even though the graphics look good just heightened my suspicion about movement. I remember from that other talks with the Cavs and clippers and I mentioned ppl don't move like that in the air especially when he did that wrap around layup. Irving seemed so stiff like a stick figure in a way. 2k moves to whet you replay and say wow. It's the little movements before during and after that makes 2k excel

After watching the trailer again I hope they fix the jersey movement before the game comes out, the way that jersey is moving up and down like jello just from Kyrie walking up the court looks crazy, as tight as players wear there jerseys these days the less movement the better, only the shorts should have alot of movement.

Vintage EA 'gameplay footage'. 30 seconds of edited replays, constantly changing angles so you can never get even the slightest feel for how the game flows. As a childhood Live fan, I would love to see them return to glory and at least compete with 2k, but based on their last few efforts it's hard to get pumped up about this. Probably be next fall before I'd be willing to go next gen anyway, so by then it should be pretty clear which game is better.

I have to admit that I'm more of a 2k fan. With that being said, it would be nice to play something different. Live 10 wasn't a bad game. It just lacked in some areas. This trailer was ok, not to blow me away though.

Works of advice to you die hard Live fans. You guys have been waiting for this game for awhile now. So I suggest that you guys don't bash this video or any up and coming videos to bad, because yall might make them pull this one or delay it.

Everyone is going off the graphics and truthfully that layup animation was stiff as some has said. And if you willing to say this game is better because of the trailer graphics remember nba lives history back on nba live 10..Trailer looked good everything was decent till well the game released and everyone quickly bashed it. Fool me once wont fool me twice is what im seeing here people will see whats up once they trade they copys in for 2k

How is it silly to note the infeasibility of people supporting 6 games? Read my point before you comment. It would be an unsustainable market. Get it?

Not saying its perfect but I do think you need to watch some videos of some real nba on youtube.

I like the way Live is looking. Really looking forward to playing this game. I may be blind or something but I don't see anything wrong with the way the players look or the game is moving. Guess im just less critical as im not a huge hoops fan anymore to begin with. More of a baseball guy But am not regretting preordering Live.

Ok I checked out some youtube NBA highlights and I still have to stick to my first post the top jersey movement is very little mostly moves wen a player jumps, but having the entire top jersey in a bouncing motion as if wind is blowing thtough it and the player is only walking up the court isnt a good look.

Its basically EA making jersey movement so noticable that no one can say they have the stiff jerseys of there current gen games. A slight tone down on of movement on the top half of the jersey is needed is all im saying.

I agree but I think part of the issue is some players wear their jersey tighter than others perfect example is the Kobe vs Lebron video on youtube. Watch how much more Kobe jersey move vs Lebrons.

Meh. Lets see real gameplay. They have said "100% gameplay footage" before and the game looked completely different.
