Really don't like the "flip" dive animation, the running - though it is short clips - still looks rigid, the foot-planting still looks unnatural, almost as if rather than it being "just the way players move" it looks like limbs are being forced into those animations.

AP breaking out of three guys, especially when you look at how they arrived, seems out of place to me. Had one guy hit him, been falling off and then the next two were consecutive hits that "bounced" him off balance then quickly back into balance, then maybe but I gotta say that I am really underwhelmed by that clip.

Word of the day is "disappointed"!
I take it you haven't played a Madden in a while? After buying Madden 13, I can see enough good to justify a purchase of M25 (IMO).

Although many of the complaints are understandable, you almost have to look at the improvements, and see if they out weigh the negatives. With so many people pointing out every single flaw, it gives one of the days we look forward to the most, kinda of a gloomy feeling.

I've yet to buy a perfect sports game, and probably never will. ONLY when I feel a game has made NO or VERY little improvement (IMO) will I stop buying it.

Anyone can see this game will be a total different experience, which all I could ask for.

Trailer looks to tough but is it just me or does RGIII shoulders look a lot to broad cause I went and saw him last year when he played my Philadelphia Eagles and well he didn't look that strong lol !

Looks like they did a recording of RGIII at the LOS. "Red 80" is one of hte standard Redskins QB cadences.

From what I'm seeing so far I have to say VERY good job EA.

Some of these animations look fantastic. Some don't though. Plenty of time though. We'll see.

You're seeing that because that's what it is.

That's game footage not game play.

Most of the same animations I've seen for 5+ years. Not impressed at all, but reserving judgment.

The graphics haven't mattered more than animations and AI for years. Next-gen doesn't change that.

Played M13 just last night. And while there are encouraging aspects to the video - combo pass blocking ( while it may not be double team that people are looking for, it appears that OL players have a better AWR to them - seemingly adjusting on the fly- which all alone is fantastic), there are things that right away give me a nauseated feeling.

Sorry if that brings anybody down, but EA gets no leniency from me cuz "current consoles are so very hard to program for, and the tech is so limiting"!

I have no sympathy for 'em. And that "gameplay" video was underwhelming to me. They missed a chance to "wow" me with stuff like;
4 man rush with actual full on double team pass blocking. Double coverage of wide outs, tipped passes that don't "bound" straight up, Chiefs' "gunner" coverage of a TE, any TE being pressed at all, a dive at the end zone without the stupid "showboating" aspect, a true consecutive hit scenario, an allusion to a more sophisticated injury system, a ball carrier reaching for the first down or end zone line, a DB getting destroyed by a lineman (Doriandonp's clip should have had that or a quick side step by the defender who appears to be "suction blocked"), a punt that actually bounces backwards, the wind sweeping a FG attempt wide and so on and so forth.

Any of that would have "wowed" me, and I am not wowed or even excited after that video, sorry if that drags on you, but I think of it in terms of where we should already be, not oh yeah finally they got "blank".

I agree with your post! You, like everyone else makes valid points. But tell me one game that wowed you, and people will rip it to shreds.

I agree that Madden devs shouldn't get a pass for any reason, I just don't see how people can play Madden 10-13 and would consider passing on Madden 25.

Exactly...I see soooo many of the same movements, animations, suction blocking, etc. that it's just ridiculous. I understand the excitement for a new generation of hardware, but this gameplay footage shows how little seriousness EA has put into really improving the gameplay. The graphics look shinier, but that's about it. When I think of all the things Madden has done through the years on PS2 and PS3, I see nothing new here that hasn't been done before. Again, just shinier graphics.

Looks very impressive to me. But I'll wait to see actual gameplays before getting too excited.

# 94 noplace @ 06/10/13 11:11 PM
Looks damn good visually but will it play just like the same ole Madden?

I like how it looks MORE PHYSICAL

But I'm going to wait to see more before I start nit-picking at things

What? That looked a million times better than the jump from last gen to this gen.

Maybe if they actually showed a gameplay angle that players could actually use. Its the same garbage year after year....big gigantic close-up shots that always look good but are unusable for gameplay. I havent bought the game in 3 years and Ive seen nothing today that would alter that current streak. Certainly not a $500 investment in a new system.

# 99 LBzrule @ 06/11/13 12:45 AM
It's a very short clip and if there is one thing that I'm interested in seeing is how the pass blocking works out IF the defenders are closer to the line. In the clips the defenders are actually coming in late on the blitz which is giving the OL time to get into position to make the blocks. I hope we are not reduced to mere blitzing from space like that.

I love that view from above the QB and to the side of the pocket (or at least centering on the QB but clearly looking in one direction)...couple that with a revamped/reimagined QB-vision system that has you select left / center / right as the QB's default vision position and we could finally have a new experience in playing Madden. I imagine calling a pass play, coming to the line and having to hit "square" to start QB vision left, "triangle" to start between the tackles or "circle" to start QB vision right and then post-snap being able to "cycle/read" by tapping L2 (similar to the running move modifiers)...no headlamp flashlight necessary, but if you watch the receivers in these gifs, you have a reasonable camera for passing without zooming out to the OC/pressbox view. It also gives a feel of a pocket forming around you...it would be interesting to see more from this angle. (To me anyway!)

The camera angles now are too forgiving and take away from the fundamentals of football too much to remain in place for another generation of games. I don't care if the option is there for all the people who want to keep playing the same game with prettier graphics, but please include an option to get a camera closer to the action as well....the AP hopping video gif is another angle I would love to play from - closer to the action and less "god"-cam ability to see things the real player could never see.

The off-screen stuff from E3 is going to be interesting to say the least...
