Jays fans are officially the most annoying fans (more so than philly fans). Lets not even have a season and just give them the championship...since they're "projected" to win and all. You guys are clowns

Yes cause mark burele was the only acquisition. Im removing myself from this conversation because the people responding are more delusional than jays fans and claim to be "better baseball watchers" than everyone else. I havent even stated what team I like. Jose reyes has been a great player almost every year, RA dicky has been great for 3 years and won a big award, Melky cabrera was on the WS Giants team..did the giants give back those wins when Melky was caught?...and Im sure SCEA doesnt take PEDS into account or Braun. Arod and anyone else wouldnt be rated as high..

To pick Buerle as your example makes you sound even more biased than jays fans...so Im going to tune you out because I question your ability to watch baseball better than all of us(sarcasm)

If the team ratings are based off of the player ratings, we should wait until the game is out. Then everyone can complain how players are under/overrated and therefore are messing up the team ratings. As it is now everyone's argument is so thin since you don't know the player ratings. Maybe you feel Reyes and Arencibia are way overrated, maybe you think Pagan and Scutaro are underrated. Most people are just taking the overall ratings to be power rankings or something, which they aren't.

A team that is coming off a 73 win season, who made some nice acquisitions on paper, if those players in most cases make come backs, or live up to expectations, has no reason to complain about being "only" at #5. On paper, I can see why they are there, but still seems to be a stretch.

If you want to argue that point feel free.
Ok explain why the Red Sox who won less games are ranked 3rd? I dont care where the Jays rank, 5 seems ok maybe shuffled around after the others are shuffled around.

Don't know on the Red Sox, but I don't see any Red Sox fans complaining that #3 is too low for them to be ranked.

We get this every year. The homers come out and complain about how underrated their team is. Jays fans have just chosen to take the lead and take it to new levels this year. Next year it will be some other team that's been crappy for 20 years that makes a few moves.

In fact I was the first to say we don't even belong in the top 15. Same thing happened last year when everybody jumped on the Miami bandwagon and crowned them in March. What happened with that? 69 wins. I dont need some jay fan telling me I dont know baseball...youre the one patting yourself on the back before the start of the season because you guys picked up a couple of quality players.

# 228 MLB Bob @ 02/23/13 02:33 PM
Well I apologize for not watching baseball good enough for you and have a different opinion. Im not complaining about the rankings, I have more of an issue with the offensive people that have to attack fans and not argue the point. if you disagree with a comment, make a point, dont continue to bash and troll them with equally biased opinions.

Haha I know...last year Miami, this year the Jays. Im surprised Cleveland fans haven't come out yet since they had a good offseason too. Truth be told, I don't even think the Jays had the best offseason. I like what the Braves and Nationals did, especially Nationals.

So, someone has the game 2 weeks in advance and instead of sharing game play footage or some sneak-peeks at new features, he drops a ratings screen and goes dark. I think the guy who got the game early should be banned for trolling...lol.

There are some head-scratchers here (Red Sox at #3 is most off to me) but, just like I said in the player ratings thread, I'm more concerned with how it impacts the game than how it looks. Team rankings have NEVER been the best predictor of given team's success in franchise/season/RTTS in this series, so I'm not worried.

Cleveland fans are a different breed. They expect their team to fail, so don't want to get their hopes up, no matter how good they are.

Who's getting defensive now?

# 232 Cavicchi @ 02/23/13 02:41 PM
Can someone explain to me how the Yankees have better pitching than the Dodgers? Sabathia is not better than Kershaw, Kuroda may be a bit better than Greinke but is 38 years old, Pettitte is 40 years old and when was the last time he started over 25 games in a season? The last three years he started over 25 games, he had an ERA over 4. Nova was over 5 ERA last year and Phil Hughes was over 4.

How many points do I have to make? I get that you're a fan...we all are, but it just seems that your point of view is very narrow because you want to defend your team. I'm sorry if I came off offensive...I just dislike when people discredit what other teams have done just because they're not a fan of that team. I like the red sox but do you see me trying to defend their 3rd position? No because they dont deserve it

My guess. Bullpen/Closer. I guess they are assuming Mariano is going to be Mariano.

Not sure, just a guess.

Whether Sabathia or Kershaw is better, while I agree with you is debatable.

Random thought....Noticing that people here think they are entitled to something because they think they matter more than everyone else simply because they know Ramone or the developers. Strange...

Most of that stuff is a way to explain the unexplainable and have no data to back it up or quantify

Its individual player stats from a 3 year formula, weighted by SCEA.

So with that, some teams look odd, but real life or in game the Jays are not over rated, SF may be a little under rated, but SF rely's on Buster, and you saw that when he was not there in 2011 due to injury and they didnt win the world series, the Red Sox way over rated if we're going by "what they have done last year"

And if it takes minor leagues into account, than this can explain alot as well. And we dont know the "grade" difference between the top team and the last team, or any team. The teams people are saying should be 5 spots higher, the difference between those 5 teams maybe 1 point..maybe less..maybe more.

God I love having numbered ratings...smh
Very good point made. I feel that many people are not exactly grasping the concept of this on these of forums..

I've had no problems with MLB the Show's team ratings over the years and still won't. The thing is that the ratings in this game are a lot different than what most people expect from other sport games. It's a whole different grading system. It's a unique system that shouldn't be judged so harshly.

I love the number ratings as well! Definitely a welcomed addition

# 237 Bondsfan @ 02/23/13 03:52 PM
I dont understand the Giants ratings at all. 2 WS in 3 years and ranked 17?! They bring back the wold championship roster basically intact, and 17? 9th best pitching staff with that rotation and bullpen?

I dont think the Giants should have the highest ratings in the league, and I dont usually get upset or concerned about ratings at all, but this is really bizarre to me, and is making me a little concerned about the new rating structure.

Why? Overall ratings have always really been meaningless. Not just in this game but others as well.

# 239 Bondsfan @ 02/23/13 04:08 PM
Why are overall ratings meaningless? I mean, the Giants rotation and pen from top to bottom rivals any team in the league, which is why they've won 2 of the last 3 WS? If 1/3 of the other pitching staffs are rated higher than theirs, then it worries me that rating system is seriously over-rating some teams because of some flaw in their calculations, or its just flat out biased some how.

# 240 rovert22044 @ 02/23/13 04:34 PM
You people are honestly spoiled rotten... Ok the ratings are not perfect for everyone. But here's the thing, it's impossible for them to be. Not everyone agrees with each other on who is better than who, so trying to make the ratings to suite everyone in a lost cause. Don't like it? They got this nifty new feature where you can edit ratings. OH WAIT-- You could always do that! Or just wait for OSFM rosters to be released.

Seriously. People these days feel everyone owes them something. Get over yourselves.

On a brighter note, thank you Ramone and the rest of the development team. You've done an exquisite job so far. Looking forward to buying this game.
