NBA 2K13 News Post

The NBA 2K13 court floors for the Lakers, Suns, and Thunder have been updated in game to match their new designs for the 2012-13 season.

Other court floor updates should be coming soon, which include the most anticipated Spurs and Bobcats. We could see a few subtle changes in other courts, but nothing has been announced.

(Lakers - Should have a white center court line, as seen here.) - Thanks domidomdomz!

Suns

(Thunder - Slight change, double line in the key is now gone. The difference is seen here.) - Thanks Josh Thomas!

I don't get why people are thanking 2K. This stuff should be standard. Nothing to applaud for.

I know no one else cares, but the Sixers also need their court fixed- blue paint needs the right shade (lighter), off white instead of white, and also need the 50th anniversary logo added on the court.

I don't think 2k does the anniversary stuff but there's a first time for everything and it would be nice to see it in the game. it would be better still if in association teams had anniversary logos on court and jerseys for milestones like 25, 30, 40, 50, etc. but who knows.... what you bring up is more relevant then some things being posted.

Didn't really think about association as that's not really my cup of tea, but at the very least the blue needs to be fixed. It's so dull right now, I hate playing home games with them.

They also have the anniversary patch on both jersey's (i guess the alternate too when its released) FWIW:

Yeah way too dark. Idk why they even changed that because it was great the way it was. Looks super fake now with the dark court but brightly lit players.

Just watched a youtube video at the 76ers arena and your right. That shade of blue is really off. Its funny you think whoever is in charge at 2k of the art of the courts could get it right. They have a whole year to do it. I understand if they don't have the new Lakers, Bobcats, Suns new floors when the game comes out but come on, how hard is it to get this color right? Stuff like the Thunder, Blazers, bulls courts should be already in this game when you buy it on release day.

Yeah I have no idea. I believe it was right in 11 but it was way off last year and this year. Hopefully they at least change that. Funny, I was trying to google pics of the court and 2k PC modded versions kept popping up. I thought it was just me. I know there aren't a lot of Sixers fans out there, but I thought someone else might have picked up on it.

There are a lot of Sixer fans on this forum, including me, but we're not the 'this is the wrong color shade 2k sucks' bunch.

You must be able to see the difference in the shading of the wood?

I'm not a Lakers fan but I can tell you the arena isn't lit like that during games... that probably accounts for the difference in darkness of the court in the game (which 2k does a great job of lighting accurately)... just a thought.

It's a fair point but the lighting during games is all onto the court, so the court stays bright but the seating goes dark

true but, less lights on, means less light overall, which means slightly darker. whether it's enough to account for the difference between real life/game if there truly is a significant one I can't say for sure but I highly doubt there will be second updates to courts in 2k13.

When I get home ill try and post a side by side comparison with broadcast and 2k, mostly just to prove to myself I'm not going mad! Lol

Here's a video of what it looks like during game action:

Much different from the 2K one.

Are the Suns going to have new uniforms with this new court? The two don't seem to match at all now.

new uniforms next year (as far as I know). pretty much same thing the knicks did. they changed the logo and the logo on the court last year but new jerseys this year.

I'm inclined to agree completely after seeing this. I don't know if the distance the camera is from the court makes a difference or not and again I'm not a Lakers fan and don't really have a big stake in what the court looks like as long as it's mostly accurate.

Lakers: The two secondary logos that are placed nearby the paints are way too small and not centered in NBA 2K12. I never get how one doesn't see that. It's so obvious. No eyes for detail at all. I did not see any video of the new court before but I instantly thought that it can't be correct the way 2K has placed the "L" logos on both sides of the floor. The video is nothing but confirmation to me. The guys at 2K need to take a better look at how things look in reality. They constantly fail when it's about dimensions and colors.
