Madden NFL 13 News Post


It looks like Madden NFL 13 title update #3, which was scheduled to arrive tomorrow, is 1 day early and available now for 360 users, weighing in at 19MB.

Feature Additions:

Custom Rosters Offline: Added the ability to start an offline career with a custom roster.

Connected Careers Edit Player: Added the ability to edit gear and information for players in a league.

Coach Mode in Connected Careers: Added the ability to use coach mode in Connected Careers.

Changing Schemes in Connected Careers: Added the ability to change offensive and defensive schemes as a coach.

Offline Play Along in Connected Careers: Added the ability for multiple people to join a CCM game. This applies to coaches only.

Draft Clock: Added a draft clock during the draft that is displayed on screen if you leave the draft interface to view rosters, depth charts, etc.

Draft Filter: Added a filter to the draft screen to display players that have been drafted.

Connected Careers Practice XP: Added the ability for user controlled players to earn extra XP in practice mode through the stats they accumulate.
Gameplay Tuning:
  • Fixed an issue where WRs were dropping too many passes when playing on All Madden difficulty setting.
  • Fixed an issue where it was too easy to time the kick meter on FGs and PATs in user vs. user games.
  • Fixed an issue where punt returners were moving away from the landing spot if you called a fair catch while letting the CPU control the player.
  • Fixed an issue where someone who attempted to bull rush with the R stick once the ball was snapped activated run commit.
Commentary:
  • Added over a dozen logic fixes to make our commentary more intelligent.
Presentation:
  • Fixed an issue where specific offensive player celebrations were not triggering.
  • Fixed an issue where the referee was backwards when calling a penalty.
  • Fixed an issue with the Giants away uniforms (missing a sleeve stripe).
Connected Careers:
  • Fixed an issue where Offline Gameplay AI/Logic did not match the logic in Play Now.
  • Fixed an issue where playing the game on All-Madden is too easy.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the camera setting in CCM game works for single player.
  • Fixed an issue where League Sliders had limited impact on difficulty.
  • Fixed an issue where the Accelerated Clock did not function in an online CCM game when the option was set to On.
  • Fixed an issue where you could not turn on/off GameFlow in CCM.
  • Fixed an issue where you were unable to sign Free Agents during the season.
  • Fixed an issue where 'Starting a League' would reset Player Schemes.
  • Fixed an issue where after declining a trade offer, you are no longer able to accept or decline another offer.
  • Fixed an issue where you could exploit supersim to run the game clock indefinitely.
  • Fixed some spelling and polish issues in the News and Twitter.
  • Fixed an issue where a coach could make a contract offer to a user controlled player.
  • Fixed an issue where you are forced to select a throwing style for a created player that is not a QB.
  • Fixed an issue where turning Auto-Start to off does not save week to week.
  • Fixed an issue where you can see rookie overall ratings by accessing the player card of the prospect through Team Needs.
  • Fixed an issue where changing Auto-Sub Frequency does not change the correct data.
  • Fixed an issue where the profanity filter was preventing offline players from typing in their names.
  • Fixed an issue where you can draft a player and then trade down while the draft is paused. The issue resulted in the user keeping both the traded picks and drafted player.
Stability:
  • Fixed numerous crashes.
  • Fixed an issue with the in-game pause menu disappearing.
Madden Ultimate Team:
  • Changed the Packs button to Store Button.
  • Condensed Leaderboards and Help menus.
  • Implemented the ability to view videos from the hub.
  • Implemented Store Panel Changes.
  • Moved Auctions/Trades to a separate menu option.
  • Fixed several Solo Challenge exploits
Playbooks:
  • Fixed an issue where theHail Mary formation in a custom playbook had a blank play that resulted in a broken formation and invisible players if selected.

Hoping there's going to be some news soon about a fix for Offline CCM depth charts not saving.

Loving the other things this patch has done, but I just can't for the life of me understand how they drop the ball on the depth chart issue.

I played a game last night, up 28-0 at halftime against the Titans, They passed the ball 21 times in the second half, compared to 9 runs. Seems pretty realistic to me as they tried to make the comback.

Just really wish I didnt have to reset my depth charts prior to every game.

I think it happens to everyone. It's just most noticeable when you do it to OL/DL due to relative body size.

So we have editing now, but if you use it it jacks everything up.

So .....we don't have editing.

Guess they'll need to patch the patch.

Yeah, I know it doesn't affect HB; I edited Lynch and he was fine in-game. I think I edited Wilson, too, and he didn't look crazy, but I didn't look super hard at him. It was the lineman that were really noticeable.

Glad I got out of this mess when I did, traded this in for NBA2k13 & after reading more in this thread about EA's smoke and mirrors patch, I think I made the right call. To think, if this patch was truly epic, I was going to repurchase M13.

The patch just sucks. Like someone else says, it's a bunch of smoke and mirrors.

I love the patch! Before I got a chance to play last night I was reading the horror stories here about it and I was angry and worried.

Then I got the chance to use it.

I had a saved CCM ready to go in the first off-season, the Jack Kane draft.

I edited several of my guys. I gave Kane a different helmet because the one he had made him look like he had a pinhead. I changed some of his gear and adjusted his body type to make him look more athletic. I put arms size to 4, arm definition to 6 and belly & chest to 1. With this his player model looked much more real.

I changed one of my DE's who is 6'6 265lbs and gave him ripped arms! Like Vernon Gholston. In game he looks like a beast!

Then in game I was able to coach in broadcast cam!!!

A few people were asking but for coach mode you have to go to change your profile from the opening Madden 13 page. Go to game settings and Coach Mode is the last option.

The game played awesome on Coach Mode, it just looked and felt so much more realistic.

So for me the patch is perfect so far, I've edited QB, RB, WR ,DE, and I didn't have any issues.

I don't know if this is an issue with bringing an edited roster into connected career but there aren't any players on the injury report except for Terrell Suggs. I briefly tested with a connected careers roster and (if I remember correctly) most of the injuries were correctly represented in connected career.

For some reason though none of the injuries appear in connected career when I use an edited roster. Has anyone else noticed this?

Why you guys want this to be tracked? SIM engine doesn´t track Assist tackles either.
Your team will be leading the NFL in tackles if they start tracking assist tackles.

they still havent fix the negative 1338.11 mil (thats over 1 billion) cap when resigning players.... nor did they fix where you can pause the draft trade that pick and then select someone and still get to keep the player and draft pick

Just finished my first full game post patch...some thoughts....

It was just a preseason game(my Cowboys vs. Oakland). Pretty "standard"game. I lost 34-24(I was playing a lot of my rookies and third stringers in the second half). The game seems much improved to me since the patch dropped. The AI logic, at least to me, clearly got fixed. No more running on 3rd and 10, better playcalling etc. The flow of the game seemed much more fluid. Guys arent tripping over eachother, falling down, etc. I did notice once or twice McFadden running the ball, hitting his o-line and getting tackled for a loss...however it appeard that he was trying to make a cut and ran itno traffic(hard to tell with guys all jumbled up). So over all I think the game play has improived since the patch(as a side note I was playing on All Madden with no slider adjustments)

I spent the night last night editing my roster(I got the game used and thus dont have an online pass). I used my free 2 day trial and dl'd the 2nd roster update(I believe it was the 2nd) so I was working off of that(releasing guys, trading guys, creating a few new guys etc). I had no problem putting my roster into CCM and having it stick(I guess I'm lucky, sorry for those that are having problems).

I think the patch did a wonderful job! Im happy with it, and glad EA took the time to put it out. I know a lot of people are bitching about "maybe they should've waited" but everyone has deadlines to meet. So kudos to EA and the team at Madden 13 for owning up to their short comings and giving the fans(esp. guys like me who are a lil older and have been playing Madden since it first came out)what they want....although I think theres a few things missing.can be improved upon...its a step in the right direction.

I was having the same issue (Im using a custom roster in Offline CCM), I have tried this and it seems to have stuck even after going into practice mode and advancing a week. Once you make your depth chart changes "SAVE" from inside of the depth chart menu. What I have been doing is "Saving" from within the depth chart menu and then "Saving" again right after exiting the depth chart menu. I'm not sure if the second part is necessary but my depth chart is sticking.

I am going to mess around with it a bit more to see if I can find out exactly what it triggering it or if I am doing something else aside from saving within the depth chart menu.

After reading this, it makes me wonder if the player morphing glitch only happens in year one of CCM. Only reason I bring that up is because I remember last year, when they fixed the rain issue, it took until year two of the franchise for it to actually take effect (I was using the Giants). Probably not the case, but I might try it out just to see.

Still seeing Bullrush/Run Commit glitch, making it difficult to play using Clay Matthews. Assisted tackles still not tracking... They did make CCM playable though.

Im not a Madden expert, so this patch I guess does wonders for me.
Im enjoying my CCM mode now, Ive upped the minutes (which is a good thing, this means that IM enjoyig the game)
AI decision making works. some teams make great adjustments, others dont. some make the right game time decisions others dont.
My last game I was up by ten at the half. It was great to see the AI controlled team switch strategies in the 3rd quarter. they stopped my run game. They seemed to take more chances and play more aggressively on offense. Long story short they came back and beat me.
They had me guesiing both on offense and defense the entire second half. Before the patch. I would have cruised to a victory.

and one key thing. I did not feel cheated when they were coming back. no turning off the game, just them capitalizing on my dumb mistakes and throws.
I moved the ball but couldnt score. awesome!!!!

I cant comment on player edits, helmet edits, etc.

this patch is really bad. in CCM there is no coach mode like they said there would be, u can edit player info but not ratings which is stupid, every single player seems to be a team captain, and on the first game of the season players were wearing the pink uniforms WTF!!!! is anybody else having this problem?

For the last 3-4 years, when the calendar turns to October, Madden has pink accessories in the game.

Breast Cancer awareness month.

so if we can edit rosters now, it is possible to create a player and put him in a team and then start an offline CCM as a coach and have this guy in the roster?

I'm not getting the pink in either play now or the ccm I had which I loaded up yesterday. Unfortunately, I'm not to October yet in my CCM and I didn't play any in October before patch so I do not know if I ever had the pink flu or not :\ Deff don't have it now though and I've seen a few people on here say they had the pink, then the next time they turned on their game they didn't, so it may be a load/restart issue.

iory, not trying to be a jerk or anything, but with the tone and the attitude of some of the people in this thread, and the misinformation going on about this patch, your best bet in all honesty is to just try it yourself. I haven't created a player yet so unfortunately i have no idea either :\ sorry
