I noticed that, playing on the ps3, the october breast cancer accessories kick in after playing a game or two. But never show up on the first game you play after booting up.

From the little bit that I have played, I like the patch so far.

But, I was editing some of my players and when I tried to save the changes it said something to the tune of "please change player name, name entered is considered profane or invalid". One was of a real life guy (Damarcus Van ****) and the other was of a madden draft guy (Jonathon Hicks), seriously Hicks is considered profane?? So, I had to back out and couldn't save the changes. It's little stuff like this that is frustrating, why can't I use whatever name I want to with a player??

No, that's not my idea of realistic football. I never said that. My point is that I have no control over the play calling when it simulates games. If I set up a 99% run or 99% pass ratio it should do that. I just did the extremes to see what the results would be. Obviously if it doesn't adjust anything when it's at 99% then it doesn't change anything if you do 60/40. So, you have no control of your game unless you play every single one. I for one don't want to. I am going outside....to play some "realistic" football

that's because there is no in-game calendar system in place in CCM, notice how the schedules don't list months or days. just times. So if your console is in October and you're in the super bowl, you'll most likely get pink shoes and and gloves because the game isn't taking place in a fictional February.

its something that has me considering either going back to 11 or buying 12 used (since i skipped a year waiting on huge improvements) As much as I like the physics engine, its not enough to keep me from the older games. Holding out for a 4th patch but I'm losing patience and faith in the madden team. Ambitious goals but this far in a consoles life span, its not acceptable to mess a franchise up this bad.

Anyone else getting an error when trying to download on PS3?

# 528 epsilonomega @ 10/16/12 03:36 PM
So I'm assuming that this doesn't fix the bug in offline CCM if you trade too much or whatever and the game tells you to try again later whenever you submit a trade.

I'm going to guess you are online and missed the big bold sticky just below this one that says online ccm will be patched Oct 19

If you are offline, it is in the same place where you changed the player position schemes...More...Strategies...Schemes

Loving the other things this patch has done, but I just can't for the life of me understand how they drop the ball on the depth chart issue.

I played a game last night, up 28-0 at halftime against the Titans, They passed the ball 21 times in the second half, compared to 9 runs. Seems pretty realistic to me as they tried to make the comback.

Just really wish I didnt have to reset my depth charts prior to every game.
I ran into the same problem and its frustrating considering i just restarted after the patch because im a stickler for details. So i definitely see everybodys frustration with the custom rosters not fully carrying over to offline CCM. I was livid when i saw Moore as the starter and Hartline and Gaffney with Bess at #3 receiver. Also the running back depth chart is completely off with Thigpen at 2, Miller at 3 and Thomas at 4. But i think i may have found a temp solution to a permanent problem. Hear me out. SCHEMES have a lot to do with how these guys are rated AFTER you set up your Offline CCM. SO what i did was write down the entire Dolphins Depth Chart and next to everybodys name wrote down their overall. Then i started an offline CCM and did the same thing wrote it all down. Then compared the two to see what went where. I then backed out of my career without saving(you'll have to do this a few times and its a pain in the a) Once you back out go to My Madden > Manage NFL Rosters > Manage Rosters. Now find Tannehill and click edit player then go over to ratings and upgrade his stats a few clicks at a time until you see his overall go up. If his overall is 77 in main menu but 73 in CCM you'll want to move it up to compensate. Once thats done click accept (it will say your changes will not be saved until after you save your roster) you will click x then immediately save on the next menu. After this pull out of manage players and under the my madden menu go to manage files and load your custom roster. After that i went and started my offline CCM (pain in the a i know) and noticed suddenly Tannehill was above Moore on the depth chart. I kept doing this over and over (i know i know) until the overalls and the depth chart reflected what i was seeing before i started offline CCM. I cant speak for other teams because i dont have the patience to edit them all and i really dont study other teams than my own. I know that over time in offline CCM the players will move around and thats natural i just want my team to be precise for at least Year 1. Just saying if this can lessen someones frustration for the game then great and yes im a noob so if this post is rambling im just trying to be thorough. Hope this helps. And if you know anybody having this issue feel free to copy and paste this to help them out. Im not worrying about credit im just paying forward the help that others have given me on this site. Lets play some football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow great patch. The fact that Romo actually threw 41 times against me in a game where they led for most of it makes me very happy

I have a few questions about the custom rosters:

1: How do you use the custom rosters in CC?

2: Do you need to make them yourself, I mean make them in "My Madden" then "Manage Rosters"?

3: Can you put in existing NFL players (Make your roster like ing M12, where you make your own team, and do a fantasy draft on your own, and have all your favorite players on your roster)?

Can't edit DE to a DT, can't change a CB to a S, T to a G. Should've been a simple fix and yet again its overlooked

I can't remember now what Steve was talking about, but I think it was clarified later in the thread, but yes you can have Broadcast view in a CCM with Coach Mode (AutoQB) on.

You don't know what simple is when creating a video game.

are you still unable to edit the fake rookie names? that you get after the first season. since i know getting actual draft classes out of the question, i would at least like to turn "highest drafted RB ____" into "marcus lattimore" etc

nope its still broken...and zone coverage has received no upgrades. EA never fixes gameplay..only their gimmicky features.

Why?

OVR is an evaluation of that player based on your scheme. Each scheme will weight certain things higher/lower as they, as a whole, will place different demands on players and their abilities.

If you have a cannon-armed QB and you run a run-heavy, high-percentage passing offense, that cannon won't get to show off as much.

Likewise if I have a great corner "overall" but he's a bit lesser in zone coverage and I'm planning a Cover 2 system, his OVR should drop.

But, ultimately, it doesn't matter what the OVR is because it's the skills that will matter. If that CB has a 89 ZCV, he's still going to be solid, regardless of what his OVR shows as in the interface.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but punt return blocking seems vastly improved. First game post patch, I managed to return one 79 yards for aTD. Never even came close to breaking one before.
