How could you not love this
Bosh was definitely not back peddling and actually had forward momentum when contact was made. He instantly starts moving backwards at the point of contact when he should have ended in some sort of collision animation. His feet might have been moving as he was pushed away but that looks more like the game "animating" the sliding rather than Bosh really responding in a realistic way. It definitely looks wrong and seems to be a mild case of the sliding we saw repeatedly in other videos. I haven't encountered anything that bad in my playthroughs so I hope it's rare.

I kind of have to chuckle and wonder how you *could* love this. Seems like this is what the collision system was supposed to address.

I do like the the more TV style presentation over the one that they have this yr .. seems al ittle to AND 1nish meaning over the top a little, tracks are nice though and I really like the opening showing Miami .. really liked that in 2k12 hope they do that more this yr. overall though great gameplay once ou get used to it took me bout a hr
I have seen some horrible help defense. They are not even reacting when someone is driving right at them.

Pros:

- Slick presentation.
- Faces, nice.
- Shooting form is spot on.
- Animations are the best ever in a basketball video game.
- Dunking is pretty nice.
- 3PT shots seem harder.

Cons:

- Defense is weird.
- The pass button (PS3, X) seems rather unresponsive. Tried it on 2 controllers.
- Some crossovers are a ineffective.
- Lack of foul calls.

Overall, great. Not as all around as 2K11, but it is surely close.

AI seems much more decisive this year. I had Durant size me up and take me to the rim for the slam, which was kinda awesome.

The new controls will take some getting used to, though. I've had a number of offensive boards under the hoop that I have failed to go straight back up on because I didn't remember to hold L2.

Im liking the demo thus far, but I really need to get that control scheme down. I find myself reverting back to the older layout but when I remember the new system it works very well. I feel like I have no clue how to do any of the dribble moves.

I would like to try the new system where the dribbling is uses the L2 modifier and the shot stick remains the same. That one might work best for me as I tend to naturally go to it.

One thing that kinda bugged me, they have a Kanye West song in the demo but half of it is silent due to censoring....I hope the final version has the full song and not just the nice beat lol

Overall it is very very smooth and ill enjoy it for sure this year. Steep learning curve thats for sure but not a bad thing

Pressing the shoot button feels easier to me in that situation.

Glad to see the AI take some 'tough' shots....hope this is still the case in the retail...

It seems to easy to steal the CPU

ive gotten a lot of steals by just tapping square and they drop the ball

You know, honestly, I'm not seeing much advantage to the control stick right now. I don't seem to be able to do anything I wasn't able to before, and it doesn't seem that much more responsive. Maybe I make a few less mistakes with the spin moves, but the penalty seems to be a new learning curve (which I don't mind), less smoothness than 2K12, and weirdly animated carries all the time (which I do mind).

Maybe I just need more practice but it looks a bit laggy and glitchy unless you get the timing right whereas that wasn't quite the case in 2K12.

Someone posted this already in this thread so is he the one that did the move or is he taking credit for something he didn't do lol ?

Noticed that defensive rotations has improved vastly. Actually had a chance to kick it around the perimeter for a wide open 3 w/ Battier, and the defense didn't make up large amounts of ground in a heartbeat.

well, if you check the image URL it links back to my original gif, on my webspace....

I have the original video too, which will go up in a demo mix at some point

for those wanting to do it, stand still w/ dribble, ball hand > away from hoop > opposite. Each player has a diff animation for it, Wade's is obviously the sickest.

I'm not really feeling the game right now. I'm loving how the cpu is playing but as for user control Idk, and the game just looks so sloppy and wild sometimes...........We'll see maybe I'll adjust

Played my first game and won by like 5. I like it, just a matter of getting the hang of the controls thats all.

# 600 Biagas @ 09/25/12 07:45 PM
going from 2k12 to this was easier than 11 to 12
