NBA 2K13 Demo Available Now For 360 and PS3, Post Impressions Here

The NBA 2K13 demo is available now on the Marketplace for Xbox Live "GOLD" members (available next week for Silver). Most are getting it by searching for "2K13" or going to Genre ---> Sports and Recreation. You can also queue it up right here.

The PS3 demo arrives later this afternoon, we'll update this post when it's available.

UPDATE: PS3 demo is available now. If you don't see it, search for it.

The new controls take a little while to get used to, so make sure you check out the Controls trailer, we posted yesterday.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Miami Heat
1 Five minute quarter
Quick Game and Online Quick Match. Can't invite friends, just random.
Can't change sliders, camera view, make substitutions or call plays
No commentary

I tried many times to draw a technical by swearing after a foul with kinect lol couldn't get it to work...but did get my girlfriend to look at me with a wtf manner followed by "you need help".

I'm just a teeeeny bit bothered by the prevalence of wrong-foot takeoffs on dunks. I know I mentioned it in my impressions earlier, but as I play more, it's becoming increasingly apparent. Again, probably just a small deal most folks won't recognize but as a dunking enthusiast, it's weird. What should be right-handed tomahawks jumping off the left foot (from the right side of the court) are turning into two-hand jams at the front of the rim jumping off the wrong foot. It's very unlike both LeBron and Dwyane.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to upgrade to Gold just for demo but XBL offered me 2 dollars for 2 months this morning. So I upgraded and enjoying the demo right now. Not sure if the promo is region or machine specific. Check out the advertisement from the dashboard... (if you go straight to upgrade membership it won't be at discounted price)

Really hard to tell if rebounding is fixed or not with these small ball lineups but so far the verdict is still out....

Hold LB or LT. I don't think LT is supposed to work in the final.

No but you can change the dribbling to lt plus rs instead of the default control

Good job 2k. Gameplay is on point and I actually have a reason to start Thabo in the game over Harden... And I will be the first to eat crow on the Jay-Z involvement. Still not a "big" announcement, but the menu screens look epic and they pack more info. Even though I could've done it myself, hearing "The World Is Yours" by Nas on the intro screen is exciting. Wish there were some videos on the other modes, or practice/blacktop was enable to give us more to do until next week lol.

+ Love the longer "live" video flyover intro to Miami's arena

+/- Not sure how I feel about the new control scheme, going to take a decent amount of practice/playing before it becomes second nature. Will give it a chance of course

+ Great, great animations all around. Lots of incidental contact

+ Not sure why people here tripped on the soundtrack. I've downloaded two songs to my mp3 player already just from listening in the menus

+ Blocks seem to be very well done

+ Can really explode off the dribble, speed differential is much more noticeable between players

Even with my inability to easily adopt the control stick it's an extremely fun to play demo imo

Pretty sure the demo is Gold Exclusive for at least a week. If you don't have Gold it won't show up in the Marketplace for you.

I had OKC Nick Collsion jumping for rebound but ball went right through his hand and he kicked ball. (He didn't close his hand or arm together to catch the ball is what I mean)

It happened again with somebody else while playing online. Both situations looked catchable to me. Not sure if this is meant to be like this.

I like this year's ball physics though.

I got doubled a couple times, Lebron had 11 points so rightfully so.

I did see one hard double but after Battier made a few open shots they weren't as hard.

New Passing is awesome, I had a very nice bounce pass to lebron from wade that looked like someone that would happen in real life

Loving the controls, I believed it was easy to adapt to due to playing an old basketball game that had a somewhat similar control scheme back on the PS2. The gameplay feels good for the most part from what I seen from the 10+ games I played.

Been trying to download for about an hour. My download stops at 1% every time with this message "Can't download nba 2k13 online demo". Tried other demo's as well. Same problem. My xbox gold account is active. Any thoughts?
Too much traffic?

Man i wish i could play, sounds amazing. Wanna try those new controls.
