This looks good. I like the overall design in terms of graphics in the mode and I love the fact that you can't just have a entire team of superstars because it isn't sustainable. I will probably be looking to get 2-3 very good but not great players and build around them.

Honestly this is better than Crew..

Very glad they added contracts on here, too...that's extremely essential. I would've been so annoyed hopping online just to play a team with Jordan, LeBron and Chamberlain all year.

Keeps it much more realistic...speaking of which, since we can put different signature skills on our players, I hope that doesn't mean people will just be tossing Ankle Breaker on people like Dwight Howard!

That'll be stupid cause his dribbling attribute is low...

Well, with a 30% increase through the signature skill and possible attribute updates, it could become somewhat better where it's actually useable. I would have no idea, though. I'm sure people will still attempt it.

Can't view the video right now, is this basically like HUT from the NHL series?

Better get some better legacy games/teams this year!
I want Kobe VC T-mac teams in their prime. I've only seen AI.
This mode looks great. Hope its as good as it looks, and if it is I hope it sticks around for a while.

Not really feeling this mode. I would have rather they spent the amount of time they did on this (which seems rather extensive) on Association Mode which has sorely been needing improvements and touch-ups. There's much longer sustainability with Association Mode than smaller modes like this which may seem fun at first but likely won't keep the gamer interested through the long-haul.

I also wasn't a fan of being able to add signature skills to players. Isn't the point of a basketball game authenticity? Why would I want to face someone who made Dwight Howard a spot-up shooter?

Not trying to be a downer. I'm sure a lot of people will have fun with this mode and more power to them. I just wish their resources were allocated differently.

I think it's a really deep fantasy basketball game that can be personalized with signature skill assignments and coaching styles; and it's user controlled for head-to-head online play.

Now if you can take your MY TEAM into online associations with friends, that would be dope. Earn VC in your league and you have to be strategic on who you play and how you build.

# 33 Rdub33 @ 09/21/12 02:57 PM
At 4:36 it shows the ability to apply spot up shooter to Dwight Howard.....that's that ish I don't like! Other than that this sounds fun. I would like to know if u can challenge friends with my team.... If not it takes away some of the replay value. Gaming is all about bragging. My friends won't care how good my team is if I'm not beating them with em... Come on 2k make it happen

Some of you guys comments are childish. First off they haven't even showed association mode so how you know there's no improvement? Why in the world would putting spot up shooter on Dwight Howard make him a spot up shooter if his shooting rating is horrible? Please use your head, this mode is going to be sick, and the customization increases the longevity. This mode plus My career, plus online leagues, association, etc = This game is contending to be one of the best 2k's ever.

You can play your friends witg your myteam. I was hooked on maddens ultimate team and if this is anyhing like it then im going to be playing this more then my player. People who want the same old association, my player modes over and over and over in each 2k are crazy. Here 2k is adding a new game mode and some people are still complaining.

I never called anyone names, nor did I say the mode was categorically bad. I just said how I felt about it. Went so far as to say I'm sure many will really enjoy it. That's not being childish; it's articulating different perspectives.

You answered your own question -- because they haven't even shown anything about association mode. Even you have to recognize that, if 2K isn't actively promoting something, it hasn't gotten the attention it needs. What you just said beings me right back to last year where I was unhappy with the lack of an Association Mode insight. I was told to be patient because it was surely coming. It never came. And low and behold, Association Mode was unchanged (heck, it was actually worse than before with the bugs and stat glitches). This isn't 2K, it's Marketing 101.

It's a stat booster. By giving him that upgrade, he'll be a better spot-up shooter.

And I am using my head - I listened to the Video Insight they released detailing what giving each player these signature skills meant to their attribute ratings.

Not really big on fantasy teams and what not. I guess I'll dabble in the mode though.

Let's be clear...we're talking about giving Dwight Howard Corner Specialist, or something similar, right?

As they said in the video, these are one game boosts that you either purchased, or are awarded...they are rare, or at least limited. So, if you have a Corner Specialist, and you are putting it on a guy like Dwight Howard, go ahead....you're WASTING it. Instead of shooting 1 for 10 behind the arc...he may go 2 for 10. Not smart.

Its childish because you guys are nitpicking everything, and how can dwight howard be a better spot up shooter WHEN HE ISNT ONE TO BEGIN WITH. I wish I play someone that WASTED a sig skill by putting spot up shooter on dwight. Do you know why sig skills were put into the game? To highlight a players strengths since when was spot up shooter a strength of dwight howard, so i'm sure it wouldn't be much of a difference.

# 40 MrBigShot1 @ 09/21/12 03:18 PM
Giving Dwight spot up shooter wont suddenly turn him into Ray Allen, his shooting ratings are abysmal. They will improve his ability as a spot up shooter but he still wouldn't knock them down consistently if his ratings were really low in the first place...

Imo it would be a bit of a waste to give him that.
