NBA 2K13 News Post

While NBA 2K13 will not have Crew Mode, they will include 3 on 3 Blacktop Mode Online, where you can use your MyPlayer and invite your friends to play.

Of course, there is also NBA 2K13 TeamUp, for those that enjoyed the mode last year.

Folks are never satisfied. Instead of not putting some form of 'crew' in the game they gave you something (probably while they work out the kinks) but the complaints still flow.

I really wish some dudes went back to the 2k forums and stopped polluting this one -- this is crazy lol

It doesn't matter! Most likely you won't know the lineup the other team has until you get in the game. 3v3 is nothing like 5v5. It's alright, but it will not be any real defense.

Amen brother. I see so many "new" posters popping off like its the Wild Wild West here. I'd hate to be a mod because I'd be wearing out the ban hammer.

.? Ok. How is this any different in 5 on 5? What's stopping folks from playing 5 swingmen? As for me, I'll take my chances with a good balanced lineup. He plays small, I'll kill them on the glass and in the paint. He goes all bigs, I'll run circles around them.

So, you are telling me there isn't a difference between 5v5 and 3v3? Really?

So that is what you got from that? Let me ask you again, if it doesn't matter because you don't know the makeup of your opponent, how does THAT issue change with 5on5? There isn't any real restrictions there either. 3on3 or 5on5, you have the same issue

It's a question lol. The bottom line for me is 3v3 is nothing like 5v5. Defense, offense, etc will not be the same.

What did I say in my first post? 3v3 will most likely be PG-SF. It doesn't matter what you believe "real" 3v3 was. In 2K11, most likely it was 3v3 or 4v4 anyways, but the point is their were computer fillers. They played the other 2 or 3 positions. Having 3v3 is going to be iso iso iso like I said before, because of how spaced the court now will be with just 3 people on the court and other things.

Say, invite my two other friends. Lineup is PG-SG-C. These other random dudes might be PG-SG-SF. So, my C will be guarding a SF. The difference with 2K11 is that my C would be most likely guarding a cpu C player and the SF will be guarding a generated cpu SF. I don't know how it will be implenmented, but thats what it's looking like. Basically, all I am saying is 3v3 isn't the same as 5v5 on the offensive or defensive side of the ball period.

It's an insulting question that was assumed rhetorical. 3 does not equal 5. Got it. Does five fix the issue you stated? No.

And I'm saying you can encounter a player team of PG SG SG SF SF. What do you do about that?

Ummm, yes, it does. 5v5 will improve the defense and offense and 3v3 will make it very arcadey where it will be mostly iso's all day because of the overly spaced court. Which is my main point. If you don't understand it's nothing really to talk about. 3 human players vs 3 other human players is nowhere near the same as 3 human players and 2 cpus vs 3 other human players and 2 cpus.

I think this blacktop 3 on 3 feature is a nice addition and give us a reason to develop our Myplayer. The possibility to showcase and test it online against others is great, definitely the experience can be somehow similar to Mycrew in my view, especially for people who don't care about rankings (as it is my case)...

Cheers! ;-)

We aren't satisfied because we want Crew, not some rinky-dink 3-on-3 mess.

How is posting about Crew in a related thread polluting? The only pollution I see is people telling others what to think.

Can someone PLLLEEEAAAASSSEEEEEE tell me if this means myplayer will be co-op. As in will we be able to play my player mode offline in a 2-player scenario? I'm confused by the 'MY PLAYER TO TEAM UP WITH FREINDS' reference

It means blacktop mode, nothing more

The more I think about this, the more it infuriates me. 3-on-3? Who said they wanted 3-on-3? There's no point in playing team ball if you have half the court to isolate your man. 5-on-5 necessitates team play.

Would FIFA's Pro Club mode feature 4-on-4 gameplay? No. Just because we're using fantasy players doesn't mean we want a bastardized streetball version of the game we love. Might as well throw in those "off the hezzay" animations and triple alley-oops from NBA Jam.

Whats the issue with 3 on 3 when you can still do 5 on 5 in Team Up?

3 v. 3 or 5 v. 5 -- you still get to play with your MyPlayer online, right? I understand it isn't what it was in 2k11 but its something. They gave the crew crowd something instead of just not having anything. How can anyone view that as negative? I look at it as a 'we haven't completely fixed the mode but while you wait we'll give you something' type of compromise. I'd rather have something than nothing. But thats me -- if I was a big crew guy I'd take that for now but still would expect the full 5 on 5 next year.

And the polluting of the boards comment was made after noticing a crew thread in the Live forum -- really not directed towards any one post in this thread -- though I think some of you guys are acting like drama queens within some comments.
